    This is what you get from Houston being the only major US city to have NO zoning laws. There are still codes, and some neighborhoods do have private deed restrictions, but there is no actual zoning law in Houston proper at all.

      I agree I left Houston after 5 years. I had a 500k home next to a trailer home, I was like WTH??.
      I moved to Castle Hills that’s a suburb of San Antonio, zoning laws here are high and day here between Houston.

    I used to love going to Houston during the summers when I was a kid. It was my summer vacation from school. I’d stay there the whole summer with my older sister and brother-in-law. AstroWorld theme park, NASA, The Galleria, Houston Oilers and Houston Astros at the Astrodome, Battleship of Texas just outside of Houston in San Jacinto, Galveston Island just a few miles from Houston as well, were some of the places I used to go to. Was there back in 2012, but it was just for the day to take a physical for an offshore oil rig job, other than that, I hadn’t been there in ages, I know a lot has changed throughout the years. So many fond memories spending my summers there. Maybe I’ll move there someday and start a new life if God gives me more years of life here on earth. I’ve been fighting cancer for little over a year.

    This the very outskirts of the city. That’s like going to NYC and driving in NJ. You should have started in the inner city neighborhoods of Montrose, The Heights, Downtown, Museum District, Rice Village, Upper Kirby, and Uptown. I mean you’re in the boonies.

  • @baopham8676

    This area you see is about 15 miles from downtown. Houston annex a lot of these unincorporated area around the edge of the city. Developments continue moving further out or back inside the loop giving it a donut effect. The inner city and outer suburbs are nice but everything in between is bland and kind of run down

    • @Compilations07
      @Compilations07 2 года назад +3

      This is literally the same for Kansas City, Missouri. When you go to the inner city it's very dense but you can go 10 miles from Downtown and it is kind of run down and you can even run into some "rural" parts. It's not like KC is a small city either, the city itself has over 500,000 and the metro has around 2.3 Million. So you end up with a dense inner city but as you go out you can get random pockets of low density or even ruralish parts but when you go out further you end up in dense suburbs such as Blue Springs, Lee's Summit, or even Liberty.

    It's weird😌 but Houston is the type of city that no two sides of town look alike so titling the video implying that this represents how Houston looks as a whole is a little misleading, and may leave some residents who are not even familiar with this type of area offended. This looks foreign When comparing to the area that I live in. It looks like two different cities. To be honest I'm not even familiar with areas that resemble this, so that tells you how different and unique this place can be. I enjoy your videos😌

    I’m glad you made this video because you do show the REAL side of Houston. Where about 50% of our suburbs still have homes from the 50s-70s and 80s. But the reason why ppl don’t change bc it just works. Yes, you could go to the flashy nice new parts of houston and just make your judgements that way but showing this just goes to show that our city still needs a lot of love and has more potential to be even greater. OH MY GOD dude you blew my mind,you ended up driving right where I GREW UP when you got to the end of the video at 36;08 of the video if you would have went straight my house would have been on the first road on the right,wow it looks totally different,all of it,the entire place and its because of one thing,TREE'S all the tree's are huge now so it doesnt even look like houston,i was born in houston in 1970 and lived on the north side for 31 yrs right off airline dr. canino and little york rd.and to top it off you ended the video right where i went to high school you were at tidwell and irvington its sam houston high school,one of the worst schools in houston,they tried for several years to just shut it down haha,the first year i went kids that were 18 could buy beer and cigerettes and they were aloud to smoke on campus,so my first yr everyone was standing around smoking and not just cig;s,i was stoned ever morning and at lunch for 4 yrs i had a blast,made it to the 10th grade,skipped every day and not one phone call was made to my mom haha,but yea houston has changed a lot,its mostly mexican as you can see,i grew up with lowriders from elementary thru high school,you talk about good food,and im talking real mexican food,thats one thing i miss so much.but anyways yea houston doesnt look the same all the new roads and tree's make it look totally different.thanks for letting me see my old neighborhood i showed my mom and we watched with our mouthes wide open lol later man,,keep up the great work
