Fab film, Now you must book a trip to the Picos de Europe in Northern Spain and on the way home the eucalyptus plantations south of Biarritz in southern France !!!!!
Bit late to the party but brilliant vid mate... Goes to show you don't need lockers and stupidly high lift kits to tackle bastard lane... Thoroughly enjoyable watch 👍🏻
Thanks for the comment! Yes start by getting out there doing some local lanes. I use TrialWise 2 for searching for green lanes! Then as you get more into it and progress to more different tracks you’ll get stuck and learn what u need, but usually a set of wheels and suspension lift is all you need for most stuff! 👍🏻 Also joining groups or watching content is all good stuff to do. Hope this helps
Thanks for the comment, I am editing another trip we have just been on and was contemplating whether to have no music in this one, so that was good timing! 😂
Hey, great vid - enjoyed watching, looks great fun. I'm in the market for a Defender 90 to start doing this myself (newbie to offroad) and trying to do my home work on what to look for. Any advice at all? (UK based) - does it matter wether its a 1990s era Defender or a early 2000s, so long as there is no rust? Would appreciate any tips. Thanks
Hey thanks for the comment👍 yeah it depends what engine you want if you’re looking at the year ( td5 or 300tdi) there is an endless debate as to what is better but the TD5’s are the newer engines. You can find lots of information as to what would suit you or what you would use it for. But yeah rust is the main thing, oil leaks, whether it’s been modified, etc. looking at MOT history is always a good start👍
Thanks@@lukegibbins2271 ! the MOT tip was a good one, wiped off most of my "watch" list for, for sale Defenders I'd saved and the comment on the td5. Cheers!
Just out of interest would you say there was any advantage the mud terrain guys had over the all terrain ones. Looking for a new sets of tyres on my 90. Currently on G90s
I would say on the tracks we did there wasn’t a massive difference but more so for getting through mud it’s obviously going to help more, and a bit more grip on rocks etc. Just depends what you’ll use them for and the price difference I would say, hope this helps👍
Thanks for the reply. In reality I do very little off road. When I do isles mostly farm tracks and round field edges through woods etc. nothing like what you guys get up to although it goes look very entertaining. The G90s have done very well for the past 15 years but now the decision is do I have a change or stick with what I’ve got. I probably only do 2000 miles a year
@@peterdinnage8021 I would maybe say go with the all terrains then, a lot better for road driving and a lot quieter, especially if you say you’re not doing a lot of off roading 👍
@@lukegibbins2271 a friend suggested all terrains and a set of "sand ladders" if i get really stuck. another said he never got stuck with mud terrains but did with all terrains. I did have to pull that particular friend out of a field. ford ranger with trailer all up to its axels 😀 maybe its wasnt the best of moves going in there in the first place
Yeah that’s it, maybe all terrains and then either a set of ‘sand ladders, maxx tracks or waffle board’ (all basically the same thing) will help you if you do ever get stuck. Oh yeah I’m not surprised he did get stuck by the sounds of it 😂
Hi there, yeah the main two that we did were B*astard lane which you may be able to find with a quick google search, and Splashy lane also may be able to find. But if not just send me a DM on instagram @ lukegibbins_photography 👍🏻
@Luke Gibbins well after spending literally all our money on a new defender 110 d250 and a roof tent, we're off on a road trip through switzerland, north italy and back up through france - good job we're camping as the fuel will prob cost the same as hotels hahaha 😱

Was there last week dry as a bone 😊
Oh really! Was very mixed when we were there! Makes it more interesting though!!
Great Vid! Just bought a lifted 20 plate Ranger Wildtrak for work and looking to get onto some trails with it. Any advice for an offroading newbie?

Cheers mate! Not sure to be fair his instagram is Eddo148 if you want to ask him yourself👍 it may be from Auxbeam
Great video and quality. Music is a annoying though, much rather listen to a td5, but that’s just personal preference 😂

Hi there, I really enjoyed your video, I am putting together an off road compilation of the Discovery, and wondered if you would like to be included?
Sure, why not
Any chance you can share or DM me the details on some of the lanes, as some looked big bike friendly. Cheers

NEVER SEE A DAIHATSU FOURTRACK IVE HAD A FEW AN THEY ARE A GREAT BIT OF KIT ...
We’ve seen a few on the lanes they do look good!
Where is this
It’s called splashy lane in Wales, if you type that in it will come up 👍
Nice bit of playtime there! Planning to head out there soon so fingers crossed I won't do myself too much damage haha :-P
Definitely haha! Ah nice one where are you heading? Yeah haha always trying to avoid that if you can haha

Conclusion: You guys hate rear bumpers :D
Yeah they do get a bit abused 😅😂
Great vid ,even better if you lost the music!!
Thank you, yeah can hear the engines better!
Melu entuk ora yo?
cheers
considering the vehicle insurance its not worth it
Yeah as long as you don't crash you're all good haha
Ruined…don’t need music…
Thanks for the feedback Simon, I’ll take this on board for future videos👍
