Thanks so much! I'm still faaaaaar away from the level of Dimash, but maybe one day I can cover something of this repertoire and do it justice. Feel free to listen to my version of "Derniere Danse", ifluenced by the amazing vocalist we all adore: Dimash.

The D8 in this case came out of the emotion of the moment. Dimash is in front of his home fans after a lot of success overseas and it just came out of the excitement just like a lead rock guitar player goes faster and higher at the end of his solo. It's just like that. It totally added to the moment. It totally enhanced the performance. Thanks for your excellent reaction.

For those who love Dimash, another must see singer is Zhao Shen from China. Because of his small stature, feminine disposition and voice, he was often bullied in school. Never thinking that he had what it takes to be a singer, he went tot he Ukraine to become a dentist. While there, he was convinced that he did have a great singing ability, thus transferred his major to music. Thank goodness he did.
As an introduction into Zhao "Charlie" Shen, begin with his premiere performance on the Voice of China singing HuanYan. After this first video, move on to his versions of "Memory", and "Time to Say Goodbye".
For something different from him, watch his version of "Let It Go" and "Monsters".
Last, but definitely not least (there is so much more from him), enjoy the videos, "This is Me" and a very unique and fun song (one of my favs) "Da La Beng Ba". His biggest success is the song "Big Fish".

👉 🎵 Dimash composed “Unforgettable Day” as he was 19 ys. A Dear said, Dimash first sings an ultrasound 🤣, then he remembers that we humans can’t hear it and gifted us a D8. This is a world record. Nobody has ever sung this high note in a live performance (captured on video for eternity) 🌼🇩🇪
This event was the 3rd Open Air Music Festival organized by Gakku TV on September 16, 2017 in Almaty, Kazakhstan - (2015 - 40,000 spectators, 2016 (1000 years of Almaty) - 90,000 spectators.
2017 - Dimash was announced and 150,000 came. A Kazakh Dear wrote, the city center was completely paralyzed because of the many people. The concert lasted 6 hours.
That also was the first gig and welcome back in Kazakhstan for Dimash, after 'The Singer 2017' in China. 🌼🇩🇪
    👉Unforgettable Day
I fell in love with you at first sight
And with your playful honey-sweet words
I was fascinated by your charming ways
I couldn't stop looking at your shining face
    Oh, dearest That unforgettable day
    Oh, dearest That unforgettable day
    You are my long-awaited dream
You are the light of my life
I want to hold you in my arms
You are my life's purpose, my everything
The heart wants what it wants
The fire in me is still ablaze
I'd be the happiest in this world
If destiny brought you to me
    Oh, dearest That unforgettable day

I really liked your reaction, I agree the whistle is for the Dears... hehehe. He is such a master of his instrument.
It kinda bugs me when he hits a high note and people go ooooo whistle.
I'm like ummmm no. Can u do a run in whistle or have such a vibrato in whistle or freaking BELT in whistle.. ummmm no. But .. I just breathe and realize they just dont know. It's ok. Its nice to see the recognition tho. I also love his mid range .. yes he can do acrobatics.. but it's the texture and tone and EMOTION and all those tiny nuances that he has in his mid range that just blow me away. Even his mid range is quite wide.. lol. But it's there where songs live and thrive, he just let's the song BE..he does what the music wants. And that's about all my philosophical thoughts on that..lol.
    His songs give me feels.

I have this CD of Dimash songs, well it's a double CD. It's taken from all these various live performances from the SINGER 2017 up thru Screaming. I don't think it is sold by DQ, but any way there is a really cool dance song in which he uses his D8. I don't know the name as it is labeled in Chinese. But he goes up notes, like a stair with the D8 as the top. This ascension of notes really set's up the D8 very well in this recorded song....it seems logical that the D8 would be at the top of these ascending notes as it works so well with the dance beat and the music. It's the only other time I've heard him use it. But here, I think you missed that his mic cut out for a few seconds just before the D8.....and so in an interview he said it was a spontaneous choice.......

Just before the D8 you can see him doing the mic thingy again, but there was no sound. He tried to rectify and then this happened...5 seconds with vibrato. If you want to see what he was aiming for, you should watch the I am a singer version. It is better as a complete performance in my opinion.

Head voice , chest voice , head voice , more head voice , chest voice , that is head voice , head voice again. How interesting and exiting that must be to be able to say those words at the right spot of the song . Not much about how beautiful the music is , the lyrics are , the stage is , the song is , the emotions are , the stage presence is . All those elements are important parts of an successful performance by a singer and should be part of the reaction to a singers performance . U Tube is mostly used for entertainment by people especially in the music section . That is not a music university . Reactors should keep this in mind.

Thank you for your reaction and commentary. However. As to the whistle D8 I can basically agree about it's usefulness....except there was a performance where it was used in a way it enhanced the song.
Check out his duet with Li Yugang in The Drunken Concubine + Diva Dance. He uses a whistle not as high as D8 but close.

I understand nothing in vocal techique and to me the reason why Dimash hit that note was that he got mad at himself for failing to hit a high note a couple of seconds previously (when he is waving the mic but there is no sound coming out). So he freaked out and hit that D8. Normally he doesn't like to show off and pulling off vocal stunts just for the sake of them and he has never hit D8 since then. He is not a circus artist. He is a singer. Actually that note is not very pleasant to a human ear.
