I used to collect Kershaw back in the day. They have some iconic models like the Leek and the Blur. I often like the newer designs but where its a miss for me is the materials and price. What does peak my interest is the Launch 15 in Micarta and MagnaCut. Still pricey but they are making an effort.
The Launch 15 is definitely an eyecatcher! And who doesn't need more Magnacut in their life!

The action on the heist got waaay better over time with it tightened up. In fact it ended up having the best action out of any knife I have, including the iridium.

Kershaw iridium exclusive to their website, 14C28N steel, TOPO aluminum handle, G10 back spacer. Was $79 back on 4/15. Is now $99. Hope to see it available to retailers for a lower price point.

Every company gives their version a name. These are Duralock.
I think we should just industry standardize it to a cross bar lock . I get having your own names for it but it makes it confusing for newer people id imagine .

These are nice looking Kershaws. Too bad they are not the USA made ones but then the price wouldn't be as good. Those grind lines are amazing on the second especially on a budget knife. I really like that you have been bringing out these really good knives from different companies!

Good looking knives - both of them. I love what they’ve done with the blade. I’m not sure if they have these new duralock knives dialed in yet though. Both seemed to have some amount of play. I hope you can get your hands on those other two to review. They look nice as well.
The blades are very nice! The Heist would definitely be a great choice, as long as they can get that blade play under control. Who knows, it could just have been my knife. I know one version doesn't always represent the whole bunch.

Both are nice designs but I think the Iridium is definitely the better deal. They can give us aluminum scales with a nice backspacer for $65. Why can't they put G10 scales on the Heist at the $55 price point? C'mon Kershaw, pay attention to your competition because they're listening to what customers want.
True hard for Kershaw to compete with a company like Kizer that listens to customers and then do all they can to accommodate us.
I would love to have some G10 with the exact same texture.
I just got the Iridium and the Covalent in and the aluminum is nice but the GFN plastic feels and looks better than the Bugout and the knife is super light. The Covalent is an ounce heavier than the Bugout but a bigger knife with no flex
I consider Kershaw to be in the "Walmart knife" tier with Victorinox and Ozark Trail. Most Buck knives are also in this category. (In my opinion)
I've got a couple of Kershaw knives and they're ok, the Blur is nice. But as soon as he started talking about not so solid lock up I'm done. There's just too many other choices in that price range.
Victorinox is usually affordable, but their fit & finish & QC are some of the best there is. Check out something like the Tinker or even the plier based Swisstool

- curious .. After a while doesn't it seem like the knife community is based purely on profit.?
Kershaw has just put a bad taste in my mouth so it’s going to take a pretty I impressive knife to get me to change my mind. lol
All I need to hear is there's a little bit of rocking when the blade is supposed to be locked solid and I'm done. I won't buy a knife like that ever, too many other choices to settle on poorly made.
Both a no no . Even my $6 Walmart knife has NO PLAY. . . . I SEE A MEETING AT THE KERSHAW PLANT IN THE NEAR FUTURE. AND A DEMOTION. SURELY YOU WOULDNT SEND THE WORST OF THE LOT FOR REVIEWS . EVEN if somehow they fix that play without changing the design, I see just a matter of use. AND PLAY BOTH WAYS OMG 😱
I don't really care for them kinda cheap looking compared to others in the same price range.
All of these opinions are irrelevant. Kershaw iridium is cheap junk. Most blade play of any knife I’ve ever owned. Don’t waste your money. If all you care about is fidgeting, you’re not a “knife guy.”

I'd actually prefer washers over bearings anyways, personally. If a knife is designed and lubed correctly there really is no practical reason to have bearings, they are just one more thing to potentially fail, and just add unnecessary extra weight even if it's just a small increase. At least that's my take on it based on experience.

By the way, way to go Kershaw taking note of their peers who have lost their way and litterally sold out putting much less stock into the knife community and putting it all into Walmart and home Depot etc. Sog, Gerber, just a couple that come to mind..
