@@ayoitschris375 well when people say bethesda they mean BGS as in the main studio that makes Elder scrolls and holds the right to its lore and direction, ESO is made by other studio and not by the main BGS people think that everything that is happening in ESO is going to be a canon lore but BGS might not accept it as such and in TES6 the lore might be completely different so the guy above i think is saying instead of putting re-releases by BGS they should've focus on something like this, but to that i say that even if they want to i don't think they could've done that simply because anything they would've done would've been a canon lore and that restricts the future titles of TES because now they have to make everything look like this in their newer game.
Imagine playing beyond Skyrim in it's entirety. The sense of exploration would be amazing. So much to explore and do. They have really outdone themselves, my compliments to the modding team!
@@abstractfactory8068 is that even possible? I know nothing about that stuff but im gonna assume its pretty hard to go from one engine to another especially a newer one.
@@June_Magoo It will depend on the creation kit Bethesda releases, if you notice many of the assets used in this mod look like they were pulled straight out of oblivion, they don't look skyrimish. Models and textures for sure at least.
@@abstractfactory8068 well it would certainly be kind to the modding community if Bethesda was to make the new game's engine backwards compatible with Skyrim's. However usually i hear that game designers "build the engine from the ground up, or scratch", which im almost certain i heard about Starfield. Starfield is going to use the same engine as TES6. So the question remains; how hard is it to transfer from one engine to another? It can't be as simple as just copy and pasting assets, can it?
Once the entire project is complete (which will probably happen at the same time as when Todd Howard's consciousness is been uploaded to a supercomputer that releases Elder Scrolls 6: Skyrim 2), I'm going to hike from the southernmost point of Elsweyr to the northernmost point of Skyrim
I'm really hoping the project will be compatible with the VR version as I'd love to do the exact same thing! A while ago I installed a load of mods to add to the immersion in VR (fully-body IK, hand interactions), and one that added physical maps. It was really fun roleplaying a mage going from Markarth to Winterhold without fast travel or the big map.
@@4P5MC mods to the special edition work with vr, since it's actually the same game, just from a different perspective. Also, the pre-release of cyroddil works wirh vr so yeah, it's already compatible
This mod is so interesting and ambitious, it honestly doesn't feel real. It's absolutely crazy to think about how much the Beyond Skyrim team is doing. This is the coolest idea I've ever seen, and I cannot wait to see how it turns out. Props to the team, you're all wonderful and totally insane.
@@yungoldman2823 Maybe, but people can only hope. Although, the team is doing a great job so far and have made some great progress, so who knows? Maybe one day .
Re: Skyoblivion. All of the assets in that mod are completely done from the ground up as well. Additionally, there are areas of Skyoblivion’s Cyrodil that are wholly reimagined as well.
Yes, Skyblivion is great, but it's a totally different thing. It's the same story and time from Oblivion. Beyond Skyrim takes you to Cyrodiil in the same time as Skyrim, with completely different story and quests, and new and changed locations from all the time passed.
@@BrightEmber I understand that, but the claim was made on the video that the assets for Skyblivion weren't original and made from the ground up- they absolutely are.
I just finished playing through Bruma. If the rest of Beyond Skyrim is of similar quality, this is going to be mind blowing! It has the difficulties one might expect from a volunteer project, but the passion and attention to detail has been evident.
This isn’t even Skyrim anymore, this is straight up the next Elder Scrolls game. Maybe not Elder Scrolls 6, instead Elder Scrolls Ultimate or something like that.
Just wait till further into the future we get people like vector or enb creators going in to making it look incredible. Well all need 200tbs of ram, amd 99000x cpu and a 9090 rtx gpu to run it.
Really found this interesting - hope that this does make it to release, especially seeing as Bethesda seem unlikely to release the next elder scrolls game anytime soon
@@howdareyouexist I agree. But I hope they'll just finish the whole lanscapes and external architecture first! So we'll at least be able to wander and explore. I really hope they won't bog themselves down trying to make the inside spaces, make quests and voice acting etc. That'll never be done.
It may not release, but I'll keep pushing to make any of our releases happen. No one can say what the future will hold, but I've been on this project for 7 years now and we haven't slowed down once.
If I see these on kickstarter, I'm definitely paying for it. Unfortunately I think this isn't possible, as Bethesda may sue for this.. ;/ So I guess donating is one alternative.
Bethesda Softworks has always supported modders and many of the additions to the Anniversary Edition came from mods, I think it's unlikely that they sue their beloved and devoted fans.
@@anthonyroberts7160 they were sued as they used assets from other companies that Bethesda borrowed assets from specifically for morrowind. the use of these assets in morrowblivion could result in the team or Bethesda themselves getting sued by these same companies, as such to be safe this was done. as a man with common sense, I'd say this is a viable reason to sue.
@@6aphomehremixing and recreating things from their works is still intellectual property I fringement, if the team makes money they'll be sued, especially if they release a mod for whatever province Bethesda is making the new game in
How is it that the modders have more love and dedication to the Elder Scrolls franchise than the actual developers? We've just been getting more versions of Skyrim while dedicated fans are making THIS!?
@@Blackfatrat Bethesda are full time professional developers, these are itinerant volunteers modding in their free time while still having to juggle work, school, etc, it takes Bethesda generally four to five years to make a whole new Elder Scrolls game, they could have released something like this in the 12 years since Skyrim if they wanted to. Bethesda also doesn't have to make their own engine, they've been using the same one for over 20 years, just incrementally updated, the same engine that ran Morrowind is now running Starfield and will run TES VI.
@Blackfatrat I'm not saying they *should* make a new engine every time, just that they don't, so not having to make an engine isn't really something the modders have over Bethesda. Yes there may be more volunteers (though I don't know if they've ever given any numbers on how many people work on these projects) but they're working on no schedule, just whenever they have some free time and the amount of people available is wildly inconsistent. One day you might have twenty people available working on something and the next you might only have three. Even with a smaller team you're still going to get further with a consistent, full time development team than a whole bunch of volunteers coming and going at random with a huge variation in skill levels. Bethesda's devs work 9 to 5 five days a week in the best case scenario, considering games often have crunch during development where they end up working much longer hours. A BS Cyrodiil Dev might only have say three hours one week to work on the mod. It's not surprising then that it's taking so long to make what already takes half a decade for a professional studio to pump out. And I know they've been focused on other projects, that's the point, I was saying that *if they wanted to* they could have done something like this but they chose not to, instead of it being that they don't have the resources of this ragtag group of fan modders
@@jonjonboi3701zenimax have seriously nuked a lot of good lore and uniqueness to the races. The only ones they got sort of right were the ones from the past three games lmao
This is the first time Im hearing about Beyond Skyrim, great video explaining everything. I cant wait for this to come out this is amazing. To the fans developing this you are incredible thankyou.
@20:34 which is exactly why I'm not holding my breath for any of this to ever be released. The size and scope of the project just far exceeds what one could reasonably expect from volunteers no matter how passionate they are. Eventually, inevitably and invariably real life will demand they put their passion project down to find a way to put food on the table. To quote Twentyone Pilots, "Wake up, you need to make money."
This has happened yes, multiple developers have left over time, and some come back. But new ones are joining on a fairly regular basis- and every time a pre-release comes out (the morrowind pre-release just put out it's 'coming soon' trailer, for instance), it's a massive influx in attention and a large amount of new team members.
i wouldn't worry too much since as old developers leave new ones join, and old ones can come back. They even have enough manpower to set up a modding "school" to train new volunteers for the project
Compliments and kudos to the dedicated modders behind this (including all the lesser 'seen' areas - coding etc). A huge thank you to all involved. And thank YOU for sharing this wonderful video
To be fair moving from 32 to 64 bit skyrim with special edition was a MUST and godsend for Beyond skyrim. The annyversery one had a change to how DLLs hook into the game. I'm just getting into this now as I just upgraded. It seems to be very stable. So i can't wait for these projects. I absolutely am in love with this world.
@@K_1_T_S_U_N_E correct. Yes. Beyond skyrim stays with in the boundaries of vanilla skyrim and making their own models and textures. I was stating that I just upgraded to annyversery and the way dlls hook in is the only difference between the two. It has nothing to do with Beyond skyrim nor is it implied. Only that I upgraded and am seeing the differences with the hooks.
I'm only 3 and a half minutes in and can already tell that this video is amazing, so well researched and perfectly briefs people who don't know about BS on what BS offers and what it is.
While I’m excited to go back to my player character’s homeland High Rock, I must say the most excited I am is for Atmora, and blackmarsh, especially atmora, the thought of exploring an abandoned continent with its former foundations of civilisation covered below like 20ft of snow. Is just…..CAN’T WAIT
It's great to see Skyrim following in the footsteps of Morrowind and its mods; these "Beyond Skyrim" mods are very reminiscent of the Tamriel Rebuilt mod for Morrowind (which is still ongoing!). Can't wait to play these mods in 30 years!
No matter when, this is still the biggest community mod ever created. Im glad they have teams and we will see at least one province in the near future. Its like one of those games that keeps standing there in your life no matter the time. And to think that the last game bethesda released for this franchise is 10 years old and Still the community is more alive than ever makes me certain of this proyect.
I think it'll be nice when one of these provinces is finished because once one is completed the team can split up and assist with other projects. som once is done that will speed up the process of others
If a province is released, the devs need to bug fix it first. And then it depends if the team members are still motivated and if they are interested in other provinces.
Bruh, I haven't even fully explored whole Skyrim province yet. This is huge. Maybe I don't even mind if there's no quest in all those beyond skyrim provinces. Just exploring the continent and interacting with the inhabitants will be delightful enough for me.
My man....characters???? If each area has at least 2 main quest lines longer then the guild or dlc quests..... it'll take longer then theb beating all the ac games or Rockstar games
A preview released 6 years ago! A preview! And the whole pandemic with 3 years of people being stuck at home in front of their computers and its STILL not done? Surely there must be more content ready for release soon - its almost 2024 right now!
A.) 6 years is around the time a PROFESSIONAL, PAID, FULL TIME developer needs for a game. B.) Not everybody spend their Corona time in homeoffice. Many people needed to work extra hard with even longer hours. And even if you had home office, many people didn't want to spend their entire lifes starring on a desktop.
Vallenwood project and Allinor (including summerset Isles) are looking to join and are already working together with sharing assets. My mind is blown. I got this from the discord channel in Beyond Skyrim. They also said the additional valenwood would be in the Heartlands world space! Which would be insane!
In like 10~20 years after beyond skyrim has finished all of tamriel it is going to be so awesome to be able to explore the entire continent. Also, people are going to probably make a shit ton of mods for each one of these mods too. I think that some people are going to end up having massive skyrim mod loads even by the time elder scrolls 7 comes out (assuming that happens in my lifetime)
AAA game development has become so "heavy" that it's being crushed by it's own weight. That's why we get constant re-releases of Skyrim and GTA 5 and everyone else makes incomplete loot box NFT gambling clients. (this comment is about the part where you showed how many re-releases we got of Skyrim and said "we're not getting ES6 any time soon are we?"
I'm sorry but it took me 150-200hrs to complete a full playthrough of Enderal. The storytelling, voice acting and immersion is orders of magnitude better than original Skyrim. Even the sidequests have Witcher3 vibes to them. Enderal is no DLC. It's a fully fledged FREE game that does a better job than most AAA titles out there.
@@TheJosep70 Have fun with it! Nehrim to me feels the same as Oblivion does for the TES series - it is the quirky one, the fun one. Enderal, as much as I love it, is just trying too much, the same as Skyrim does. Frankly, if you have Morrowind, I'd also recommend playing Arktwend, even in it's beta stage. It is playable and it's always awe inspiring how far SureAI managed to push the limits of the games their TCs are based on. Arkwend may not be polished, but it has a very strong atmosphere and moments that will stay in your mind forever.
@@rissaarei5336 Thanks, I might try Arktwend too, I see it's been translated to English too. I loved Enderal anyway, as it felt similar to Mass Effect and I enjoyed the challenge of Iron Path.
I've been keeping track of Beyond Skyrim since at least 2013/14 timeframe for the last 8-9 years now and have been dreaming to see the entirety of Tamriel someday to explore in an Elder Scrolls game. If I had the time or energy to join, I would but I never had the time to do so due to my job commitments with other things but I have at least kept up on what has been going on with these projects regardless. When this is all said and done, its probably going to be on the scale of a MMO actually but in a single player game. But also defying the expectations and norms on how large a mod can be, which is another reason why I am deeply excited about this entire project in its entirety. However I will say and no pressure put on these fan projects (yes I understand because of the inconsistent progress made on projects like these), but the next game in a series (ESVI) can pull alot of people away (because they are volunteers and have no contract or commitments to stay on) from these types of projects that can take just as long or longer than a studio with a budget (we should be thankful Bethesda hasn't released a new Single Player Elder Scrolls game as of yet), then taking even more years, then soon decades into vaporware state of never releasing. I know a deadline isn't going to be realistic with these types of projects but since its been several years since the first pre-release: Bruma, we really do need the next piece of content to explore soon. I mean with any game basically of this size, to keep interest up in a project like this and for more people to come onto the project(s) to get them out even faster, more content needs to come out soon. I really hate to stress this, but interest will slowly fade away if nothing more comes out soon, be it a pre-release or one of the smaller projects outside of Beyond Skyrim. Were all dying to play this, but you have to step it up with something new for us to play soon, so even more people would be willing to join and help get this entire collaboration finished since we can only play Bruma for so long.
The new Morrowind pre-release trailer just came out- and it says "coming soon". Pre-releases are exactly what you describe: A piece of the pie, to get more people interested in helping make the rest of the pie. However, they can't just keep releasing multiple pieces of the same province, because that doesn't allow for a seamless and unified story, more like the whole game of Skyrim- it would end up more like ESO zones.
@@BrightEmber There not going to do too many pre-releases I don't think of each province, its going to be the pre-release and then the full province, no in-between. But they need to start gettin more aggressive at this point in getting more done. ESVI is coming and this could pull alot of people away from these projects. But I know a core group of people will stay on, but not everyone is going to stay.
They should of devoted more resource to just one province allowing them to push out content faster, and more logically I think, as if you spread out your developers over several projects they are all going to progress slowly and will likely die, so I think it is smarter to push out one province than try and do all at once.
@@Finger112 ES6 isn't coming anytime soon though and when it does, do not expect it to be the next big game. It will not be as good as Skyrim modded or Beyond Skyrim. Bethesda is known for hyping up the crowd with a table and giving crumbs when they release it. Did you see Starfield? It's too good to be true. Remember Fallout 76? That tells you everything.
Very well put together! I kinda lurk in the BS discord, reading what i can when i have time, and remember seeing you talking about working on this. You did an awesome job on it!!
You don't need to believe it. All these projects are in active development and are always showcasing new things. You can check them out on their discords. These kinds of projects take time, and we still have a lot of time to go for some, but they're never gonna be abandoned with all the work already put into them.
@@sidicle6537 I can asure you that if this isn't finshed by the time ES6 comes out that it will be abandoned as the lions share of modders and players will be moving on. These types of projects are way to ambious with their goals and are never able to set hard timelines which you need to do in order to get stuff out the door. And that's before you even get into how much projects like this end up buckling the game and making it almost unplayable as the bugs and conflicts pile on. I wish that this wasn't the truth and the work these artist create is phenomenal it doesn't eliminate the reality of the pipe dream these types of mod projects are.
They said Project Tamriel was too ambitious too, but hey now we got the whole province to play with after all that, so I have high hopes for these eventually releasing. What I absolutely love about this mod is that it is actually bringing a 4th Era Cyrodiil and Morrowind, with original questlines and stories rather than Skyblivion and Skywind (I am anticipating those like hell as well) Since they have full creative freedom, I hope they bring some of that Pre-Oblivion Nibenean Jungle back, especially in the southern reaches when they get around to it.
Project Tamriel is nowhere near whole or complete. It only includes part of the Gold Coast (Cyrodiil) and part of the Reach (Skyrim). Tamriel Rebuilt has also "only" finished 2/3 of Morrowind.
Them using ideas from ESO is phenomenal, I could recognize the island from the new north as bleakrock, they haven’t overdone it as I’ve seen Camlorn and that doesn’t look like ESO at all, they really have done a good job mixing what is canon with what is cool.
The trouble with this mod is it may never release. In 2016/early 17 I don't remember they released a tiny portion of cyrodill which was amazing. Other than that that's it. We've gotten nothing since then. The teams are all split working on different areas. In my opinion I think they should all work on the same province so a release could actually come out.
They released Bruma to get hype for the mod and to show people what is coming. If they released all of their mods bit by bit it would take twice as long. Also having all the devs on one project wouldn't necessarily speed things up, projects can tend to run at a limited pace and having more people can sometimes just slow it down. Also these people are volunteers, so they don't work on as strict a schedule as paid devs do.
Also cyrodiil atmora and morrowind are very nearly done. Same with iliac bay if I remember right. It will be a while for the whole series to be out, but you can expect a few releases in the coming year or two.
@@Calebe428 ES 6 may be a child's play compared to what Beyond Skyrim is doing because we all by now should know Bethesda sucks at the fluidity and content of their games.
I'm hoping we'll at least see a complete release for Roscrea, Atmora, and Cyrodiil someday. Also hoping that Skywind and Skyblivion reach the finish line. I also hope that, should any project fall apart, they will still release it in whatever state it's in.
Beyond likely won't fall apart given the sheer size of the team, if they lose a person they can fill it in quickly and the leads seem to really want to complete the mods
Whenever I hear about this project, I feel hyped up about all the possible new content and adventures it promises. But then I have to remind myself that it will be a long time before it will be released (I'm choosing to remain optimistic that it will be released one day, just not for a very long time). Still, what an experience it will be when it is finally complete.
Have more hope of this being done before the next Elder Scroll. How fans on free time can do so much more than a person who does it for a living just shows how amazing some people are with passion projects
Imagine if this mod released before The Elder scrolls VI? As we currently have not heard anything about TES VI from Bethesda? It's unlikely! But Bethesda is really taking their time! 😅 Would personally love to se this out before the next release in TES.. 😇
@@Chadius_Thundercockcyrodiil is almost complete bud, and they've been working on it for like 10 years now. I keep laughing at roscrea, there's a town in Ireland called roscrea pronounced ross-cray and I find it halarious there's a fictional land with the same name
It is projects like this which delays TES6, in a good way! When your official development has such high bars to live up to with the modded scene being so ambitious, you've got to really hit one out of the park to contest! It's amazing, keeps them thinking and simply won't allow them to be lazy. (Which is unfortunately a common theme with some recent games, though this isn't directed to TES itself)
Love the video! Can’t wait for this whole project to get finished. Although I know it will be a long time till it’s complete because of how large this project is. One thing I do have to critique is that you said we had never seen some of these areas… that’s not true for those of us who have played Elder Scrolls Online. Even though ESO is about the same as Skyrim and Oblivion in terms of vanilla content.
Beyond Skyrim has never failed to impress me with its creation. The amount of dedication and hard work they put on is unbelievable. After playing Bruma, I am looking forward to what Beyond Skyrim has in-store. I am so looking forward to revisiting all those places in Cyrodil and Morrowind which i once roamed in the Elders Scrolls 3 and 4
Can't get excited, these things take forever and are often scrapped, but these talented developers should be hired by Bethesda. Imagine what they should do in the studio
I HATE when people say this. One that would kill this project. TWO they would then have to fall under the corporate structure and would just be another cog in the wheel. Not like Bethesda would pay them and they would still just be working on Beyond Skyrim. I see this all the time in mod comments "oh they should hire you" No no they shouldn't. That crap is why so many mods die.
Well, I would give credit to skyblivion and or skywind as the biggest most ambitious modding project but this is cool too. I will say that them releasing Skyrim every time at this point feels justified because everybody wanted them to release a next gen version when the xbox one and ps4 released and then the most recent edition basically just bundled all of the creation club content and new content into 1 $20 package. Apparently TES6 is now in full development while a smaller team is polishing Starfield and working on eventual DLCfor starfield. Supposedly looking to release TES6 in 2025 or maybe 2026 if things get difficult. Beyond that another rumor with some weight states that Microsoft hired inXile studios to develop some remasters of the elder scrolls games and the fallout games. If they are remasters or remakes it will be cool either way but a remake would be nicer for the old games especially. Of course as I stated before Skywind and Skyblivion are nearing the end of their development cycles finally so I guess if you are on PC like me you will be able to replay the old games in skyrims engine sooner. Granted official remakes and remasters are nicer because they tend to have a higher standard for certain aspects. Not throwing shade at beyond skyrim though. They have done great work and have actually been helping the skywind/skyblivion teams from time to time so that both processes can be sped up
i love how batshit the lore can be as well lmaooo its so awesome, thanks for the videos ima sub, cant wait to binge through ur entire channel, probably lmao if u for some reason ever saw this thanks man keep it up
If Bethesda had their ear to the ground they would buy this out with up front money, and bring in the team who worked on it with salary to finish it. Release it for 80 bucks and roll in the cash.
@@sidicle6537 They need to get something new out soon, maybe late this year I hope, Roscrea or Atmora would be good candidates for releasing from what I have seen. Or Morrowind's pre-release which I last heard they are quest locked (not sure on content complete for the pre-release). Bruma came out like 5 years ago now, its been a VERY long wait for the next piece of content, so I hope something does come out soon like this year. ESVI I imagine now with Starfield releasing at the end of this year, I imagine ESVI is probably like 2-3 years away now, which is another reason why I stress something new needs to come out to keep interest up.
I’ve been playing Skyrim alot lately since I’ve recently acquired a Series X and I’m just loving the library of mods available. I really wish that BGS would increase the size limit of the mods for the newer console. Like 10gb.
I am curious, as to how other mods will work together with this gem. Things, such as AI and combat mods, economics and loot mods, levelling overhauls and graphical mods. It seems impossible to make it all flow together, but I don't know anything about mod making, so idk. Just curious, as this will be a major part of my ''The Perfect Game'' project for skyrim modding.
We aim to touch as little as possible (preferably nothing at all) from the base game in terms of AI, combat etc so you should be able to install many and it will work from the get go. Some may need patches which is what we need to see closer to being ready to release but in the end having a BS mod in your mod list shouldn't stop you from installing other mods.
It’s predecessor, Nehrim I think? Is also very incredible as well. All the systems it adds that Oblivion never had seems crazy to me. Add it to the fact what the story is, I won’t spoil anything, but damn, it’s incredible.
@@Norinia I honestly like Nehrim more, very underrated mod and recommend it first if people are looking for a more similar experience to TES and can get past having to use subs since it only has German voice acting. Enderal still fucks hard, but it's much more story and character focused compared to TES and Nehrim which focus more on the world itself. Need to get back into both honestly.
The Atmora one looks most interesting to me due to the sheer contrast and darkness of the lighting, and the stark beauty of the bone chilling looking conditions.
Everyone can dream big. But now it's been 11 years since Syrim went out and they still have to complete one of their projects. Wouldn't it be better if they put this magnificent effort into creating a new game? When and if something comes out of any of these "most ambitious" projects it will happen when everything will be way outdated.
A. It's just over 10 years since Skyrims release. B. Many of the projects didn't exist back than. The oldest project was the Solstheim team and that got canceled after the Dragonborn DLC was announced.
@@K_1_T_S_U_N_E C. It's like having a project for a luxury home. You dream all your life, spend all your energies on it and everyone says how beautiful your house will be based on a say so and some sketches you made on a napkin. But you're still deciding on what land will be perfect to buy after 5 years of scouting and not enough money. If you have a more realistic project you can end up enjoying it while you're alive.
Agree. I never take these projects seriously, it’s just fun to see what indie artists come up with. I think Skyblivion will come out eventually because they have a very clear goal in mind while this is a pipe dream to have all these provinces created and fleshed out.
Didn't the projects start way later after skyrims's release? Considering how much Star field has been delayed and how long it will take for it to come out, I would imagine it'd be like 4-5 years before we see TES 's release. I believe by then at least a few of these projects would have been completed.
I love the idea but it's so ambitious I'm well aware that the time scale is looking pretty brutal. I doubt we will have a release of a completed main province in the 2020s, and I'm certain that the farther behind ones will never be released, unless the project somehow gets much bigger at some point than it is now, which I doubt.
@@linkalot7415 Cyrodil released their first county years ago now so hopefully. That none of the other provinces even have that out yet is quite concerning to me tbh, given that it should take only a fraction of the time and effort as the whole province. Honestly I would love to just be able to walk around the physical world they built, but it seems we won't get that unless their is a full release.
I think they should double down on one province probably cyrodil as it has the most development already, it is smarter to devote resources to one project and push it out as quickly as possible then going on to other provinces, I think the phrase, biting off more than they can chew is relevant here. I think if they were to devote all their resource to one province instead of spreading them out, work will be done faster and not as slowly, meaning we actually get to play it sooner.
Skyrim creators keep re-doing the same shit. Glad to see the mod community understanding what we really want and taking it into their own hands to make it.
Slight nitpick- you don't need to say Saudi Arabia, Saudi is just denoting the ruling family of the kingdom, it would be like saying imperials are inspired by Augustan Rome, or Skyrim is inspired by Bernadotte Sweden. Additionally the redguards are an accumulation of various near East cultures, rather than just Arabian culture. There is Persian influence, Turkish influence and a scant pieces of ancient mesopotamian influence (like the flooding of their continent)
Oh thx for that, friend here in Philippines is from Saudi so i was kinda curious of the culture there, hes half irish half filipino but born and raised there, tall af too

Thank you for the fantastic update. 03:09 - Did you mean to put December 2022 on the graphic rather than 2021? & when talking about the red mountain, I think the graphic should say "case in point" rather than "case and point". Please keep up the good work and keep the updates coming
This looks fantastic and i can't wait to play it. Personally i'm glad that Elder Scrolls 6 is not released yet, i think the later it gets released the better. Just my opinion, but these are the reasons: - Skyrim is a masterpiece and everyone loves it, it's still being heavily played. But once TES6 comes out, Skyrim will become somewhat irrelevant. This will have a major impact on the modding community, a lot of experienced modders will move on to TES6 and everything around Skyrim will become slower. New mods for Skyrim are still wanted, the more mods for Skyrim the better. With PC hardware and technology improving, they can make even better mods than before, and many older mods can still be improved, and i think all the mods should be milked to the maximum. - With many more improved mods coming for Skyrim, Bethesda will have more time to learn what players like and don't like, and hopefully it will encourage them to make TES6 bigger and better than a modded Skyrim. At least i hope so, i think Bethesda could be ''forced'' to invest more effort into TES6 because it would be stupid to make a new game that is lesser quality than a modded Skyrim. In short, more and better mods for Skyrim should hopefully result in better TES6. - Even though the technology is improving, next-next-gen gaming is still not ready. Everything is still in the transition stage, new hardware, new technology, softwares, programs, Unreal Engine 5 and all those things that i'm too uneducated to mention, everything is still hanging in between. Even the PS5 is still not fully and completely finished, they will still make upgrades further. It would be a bad time to release TES6 anytime soon. Also PC parts are still expensive as hell, most of people are still not using cream of the crop components. But TES6 needs to be grand and epic, it needs to be better than Red Dead Redemption 2 in terms of quality, graphics, optimization, engine and being so polished, which is very hard to accomplish, RDR2 was being made for 8 years i think. Basically it would be a wasted opportunity if they rush TES6, and it would be a huge bottleneck and unfulfilled potential. - I'm not too sure about Bethesda capability anymore after Fallout 76, maybe they should take some time and go slowly to become great again. Nobody wants to be disappointed with TES6. - Skyrim Online will be completely forgotten once TES6 comes out, and i think there's a whole lot of room for it, it didn't reach the full potential yet.
I'm sorry, did you just call Enderal a "DLC-sized adventure"? It took me 95 hours to beat that game and I didn't even do everything. DLC-sized my ass, it's a full on game. And a much better game than Skyrim for that matter.
I agree that it's a full on game but not necessarily that the story is better than skyrim. The sisyphal stone of that boring dream stuff is annoying and the old menaces that destroys civilasations rising yet again is a tired eyerolling trope at this point and they impose you compagnons that are completely cringe. The map is really, really nicely done though and I like how creative the progression system is.
@@cryptosporidium01 Skyrims story is unique, and it SHOULD be better than Enderals. But it was bungled so god damn hard that *no one* enjoys playing through it. There's a reason why so many people have only finished it once despite playing the game for a decade.
@@brandon9172 No-one? Did you speak with everyone? Also, the game's replayability is not dependant on the main story and you know it. There are so many times that you can play through the same questline in any game before you ask what else you can do.
I hate to be a pessimist but honestly it sounds like the BeyondSkyrim team are cooking too many pots on one fire... developers are either going to repeatedly quit & need replacing, or take multiple month long breaks without continuing at this rate. Much like the WaywardRealms/OnceLostGames team. Developing ONE expansion at a time seems far more viable than delegating whole zones to specific members divided into multiple teams to create them all parallel. Especially since by the time they come out, the 2011 Skyrim engine is going to seem dreadfully dated compared to at least rehauling into UE5 for a more future-proof release.
We'll see Elder Scrolls 6 long before any of these Beyond mods reach even a semi-complete state. These have been "in development" for years now. I know the teams are small and not getting paid, but the pace is still glacial.
At first I was skeptical of a project of this size, but I just played through the Bruma release and it is truly mind-blowing. Lorewise, I’m most excited for Hammerfell and Elsweyr, as I love desert biomes in open-world games. Of course, they’re also the most difficult biome to make visually interesting and the various subspecies of Khajiit will be a nightmare to model and rig. Here’s hoping.
Thanks for putting together such an excellent and well researched video of all of the various projects that make up Beyond Skyrim
I've said this too many times today, but

Will the full map be available to download on Xbox since Bruma is on Xbox ? And would there be a way to put it on Xbox to work with the size limit ?
Unfortunately not, the console versions have size limitations on mods

Imagine if instead of just re-releasing the same game Bethesda had done this.
It would have sucked but at least it would have gotten done and then all the modding community would have to do is polish it up.

ESO is made by other studio and not by the main BGS

BGS might not accept it as such and in TES6 the lore might be completely different

So the question remains; how hard is it to transfer from one engine to another? It can't be as simple as just copy and pasting assets, can it?

@ Linkalot, Yea what about skyblivion? They just uploaded a video about this recently too
Yes, Skyblivion is great, but it's a totally different thing. It's the same story and time from Oblivion. Beyond Skyrim takes you to Cyrodiil in the same time as Skyrim, with completely different story and quests, and new and changed locations from all the time passed.

0:01 bro, you gotta let that beautiful theme breathe for a bit before talking

@@CrunchyTire idk id say eso 6 comes out within the next 5-7 years or so, definitely more realistic then this ever being done

But then I have to remind myself that it will be a long time before it will be released (I'm choosing to remain optimistic that it will be released one day, just not for a very long time). Still, what an experience it will be when it is finally complete.
damn the foliage in Argonia is PERFECT i want to explore so bad
Have more hope of this being done before the next Elder Scroll. How fans on free time can do so much more than a person who does it for a living just shows how amazing some people are with passion projects
Imagine if this mod released before The Elder scrolls VI? As we currently have not heard anything about TES VI from Bethesda? It's unlikely! But Bethesda is really taking their time! 😅 Would personally love to se this out before the next release in TES.. 😇
This will never release. The scale is way too much work and time for no money
@@Chadius_Thundercockcyrodiil is almost complete bud, and they've been working on it for like 10 years now. The reason it hasnt yet is just as you said, people are making it in their free time
Excellent video.

The Elder Scrolls 6: Tamriel
This is too much, it's overwhelming just to think about it. I can hardly wait.
Consoles are going to need to increase (or better yet remove) the download limitations so players on Xbox and PlayStation can enjoy these mods too.
Or better console players should simply buy a PC.
Mods like Skywind, Skyblivion, even SkyUI are not possible on Xbox/PS even with unlimited mod space.
@@K_1_T_S_U_N_E even better Idea, PC Nazis like you should just throw them selves off a cliff… Mods such as those are DESIGNED for PC BECAUSE Skyrim was designed for CONSOLES.
Also, a pc is FAR more expensive than a Console. Anyone who says otherwise is either a kid who never bought a thing on their own or a 1% jack ass.
dont think they have to worry since by the time this is done (tho i doubt it ever will) es6 will almost defiinitely be out
i’m going to start saving for a high end pc just so i can play this
Sad i'll be in a nursing home before any of this is released
This is one of those projects we'll never actually see like 1000 before it, seen these things for 20+ years, only ones I can think of that released were the AGDI Sierra games.
I keep laughing at roscrea, there's a town in Ireland called roscrea pronounced ross-cray and I find it halarious there's a fictional land with the same name
Looking back on this, I realize I forgot that Valenwood joined Beyond Skyrim just recently
It is projects like this which delays TES6, in a good way!
When your official development has such high bars to live up to with the modded scene being so ambitious, you've got to really hit one out of the park to contest!
It's amazing, keeps them thinking and simply won't allow them to be lazy. (Which is unfortunately a common theme with some recent games, though this isn't directed to TES itself)
keep wishing, this is bethesda we're talking about
their engine is an old mess, and they don't care
@@avak2101 then we are lucky we have such a talented modding community then aren't we? :D
@@buriedinashes7361 yup, the modders we have are the reason this game is still so popular, wonderful people
Lmfao u really think bethesda would let mods no matter how ambitious they are.. affect their own game development??
Love the video! Can’t wait for this whole project to get finished. Although I know it will be a long time till it’s complete because of how large this project is. One thing I do have to critique is that you said we had never seen some of these areas… that’s not true for those of us who have played Elder Scrolls Online. Even though ESO is about the same as Skyrim and Oblivion in terms of vanilla content.
It’s 200 years between oblivion and Skyrim, not 500 years.
@@xtremejay2000 I don't know man, I've been waiting for skyblivion for.. how long now?
cant wait for my great grand children to play this
This project will never complete
They have done great work and have actually been helping the skywind/skyblivion teams from time to time so that both processes can be sped up
i love how batshit the lore can be as well lmaooo its so awesome, thanks for the videos ima sub, cant wait to binge through ur entire channel, probably lmao

It is simply mind-dazzling what these teams have managed to accomplish so far, and what they will accomplish in the future.
I really hope that Beyond Skyrim will have teams for Valenwood and Summerset Isle in the foreseeable future, along with Akavir
iirc they gave up on the valenwood considering the moving tree cities unfeasibility
There's already teams making both of them. Some BS members are already a part of them, and they have plans to join Beyond Skyim in the future.
So there is a discord channel called "Nirn Uncharted" which is making both of these actually, that is where I assume is still in development.
Akavir won't happen haha. That's a good TES6 mod project though
@@Argornash Yeah, Akavir is as big as Tamriel. It's just way too big of an undertaking I'm afraid.
If Bethesda had their ear to the ground they would buy this out with up front money, and bring in the team who worked on it with salary to finish it. Release it for 80 bucks and roll in the cash.
The most insane thing about it is that they are releasing after TES6!
Possibly
While we all know nothing about release dates, I can see some releasing before TES6. Most will be after though (assuming TES6 comes out in 2025).
@@sidicle6537 Can you show me the release dates if you can see them?
I’ve been playing Skyrim alot lately since I’ve recently acquired a Series X and I’m just loving the library of mods available. I really wish that BGS would increase the size limit of the mods for the newer console. Like 10gb.
It hurts when you say DLC sized adventures and then there is Enderal in the background.. Great video though!
Sorry! I've never really looked into Enderal - my mistake

I respect the dedication. I remember hearing about this mod a few years ago, and they're still working on it. 👍
You know that's a bolshit right? The project just never happened

Throwing a lot of shade on Enderal.... Saying Enderal is DLC-sized is a gross understatement.
Seriously if you havent played Enderal. You need to, like right now. I can't believe I never heard of it sooner. It is incredibly underrated.
It’s predecessor, Nehrim I think? Is also very incredible as well. All the systems it adds that Oblivion never had seems crazy to me.
Add it to the fact what the story is, I won’t spoil anything, but damn, it’s incredible.
Yeah, I think calling it "DLC sized" is a bit of a disservice. It's a fairly huge game in it's own right and the story's amazing.
what is it?
I think Skyblivion will come out eventually because they have a very clear goal in mind while this is a pipe dream to have all these provinces created and fleshed out.
yeah enderal was fucking amazing
Didn't the projects start way later after skyrims's release? Considering how much Star field has been delayed and how long it will take for it to come out, I would imagine it'd be like 4-5 years before we see TES 's release. I believe by then at least a few of these projects would have been completed.
So this is the Fallout 4: London for Skyrim? I'll play it!
I do get your concern, and I share some of those sentiments. I do think at least Cyrodiil will probably release in the 2020s though
The project will massively increase in popularity and in team members and production once Cyrodiil releases though. That can absolutely happen.
@@elric5371 each project has different teams, they can't force people to work on a different project when they're interested in another one.

Please keep up the good work and keep the updates coming
This looks fantastic and i can't wait to play it. Personally i'm glad that Elder Scrolls 6 is not released yet, i think the later it gets released the better. Just my opinion, but these are the reasons:
- Skyrim is a masterpiece and everyone loves it, it's still being heavily played.
The map is really, really nicely done though and I like how creative the progression system is.
dude, i just reported and his coment is deleted wtf
@@cryptosporidium01 Skyrims story is unique, and it SHOULD be better than Enderals. But it was bungled so god damn hard that *no one* enjoys playing through it. There's a reason why so many people have only finished it once despite playing the game for a decade.
@@brandon9172 No-one? Did you speak with everyone? Also, the game's replayability is not dependant on the main story and you know it. There are so many times that you can play through the same questline in any game before you ask what else you can do.

I simply cannot wait
I hate to be a pessimist but honestly it sounds like the BeyondSkyrim team are cooking too many pots on one fire... developers are either going to repeatedly quit & need replacing, or take multiple month long breaks without continuing at this rate.
Much like the WaywardRealms/OnceLostGames team.
Developing ONE expansion at a time seems far more viable than delegating whole zones to specific members divided into multiple teams to create them all parallel.
Especially since by the time they come out, the 2011 Skyrim engine is going to seem dreadfully dated compared to at least rehauling into UE5 for a more future-proof release.
valid take tbh
I'll find myself booting up Skyrim 2: the reckoning - Extravagant Mythical Edition in my retirement home (im 15) just to play this
We'll see Elder Scrolls 6 long before any of these Beyond mods reach even a semi-complete state. These have been "in development" for years now. I know the teams are small and not getting paid, but the pace is still glacial.
Lmao nope they are almost done. 2 years max.
