He’s a Perth boy. I remember years ago when I worked at a Dick Smith on Scarborough beach Rd ( that’s basically radio shack for Americans ) one morning he came to buy a bunch of random leads and cables. Bare foot in a two piece suit. Huge infectious smile, I have to say he was the nicest bloke.

For me it felt like 20 years
im a 16 yo in 2022 and i just found these guys and i really appreciate their music.
Im 61 and found them about 6 or 7 years ago and they totally changed my mind about there not any good music being made this century. I think they are fantastic and rock....i was raised by brothers who were diehard beatles guys so i really appreciate his love of the beatles.
I was your age when they first came out and made it big back in the 2000's better late than never check out their older stuff if you haven't yet it's so good
So this video is six years old, and the title is talking about the previous 10 years?! Yeah. There was one of those hits that you probably heard in passing even if it wasn't your channel, but then maybe because of being in Australia you start hearing it again, or imitation versions or knock-offs in television commercials. So you somehow dig it up and realize there was almost an entire career that you didn't pay attention to or notice... But I'm old, so I've been out of touch with the music scene since the 1980s or 90s. And a lot of it was nothing special.

Last group to hit me the way they do was Jamiroquai back in the 90s. Just a group that stands out doing their own thing. Really great band

@@oscarmiddleton1592 Yeah she seems sweet but you can tell she's not very seasoned. Or just extremely nervous. Fumbling over her words, fake enthusiasm, and at 1:37 she even peaks at the next question on her cue card with the person she's interview seeing it. For a brief moment it actually distracts him from what he's saying.
I'm no expert but it's pretty clear she was not great at being natural

When he talks about the business part and the money he reminds me of David Bowie, He had went through the same thing when he was Ziggy and with the Spiders from Mars. Their shows were elaborate productions when they toured and as long as the band had everything they wanted and needed on the road and the productions went well they didn't think about the money. When tour was over and all was said and done Bowie was broke. If there was anything left over after it all their manager took it. That was a huge eye opener for David as well as many other artist who have ended up in the same boat. I think that is what Luke is saying here.
similarly with Pink Floyd, the only person who made money playing The Wall shows was Rick Wright, because he'd been fired by Roger, but hired back to play the shows as a session musician, divested from his interest in the band. Everyone else lost millions on the shows.

He was actually a bit of a douche . He and his sister moved to melbourne years ago and he walked around like he owned the place . Our band and other local bands thought he was a toss .

This is such a great interview - you can tell that he relaxes after a while as the questions are actually interesting for him.
I just discovered these guys and stumbled on one of their videos. Love stumbling into rad art. I so it a lot and find more and more that I stop and recognize the moment I am actually falling in love with a band, I love you RUclips for how you somehow feed me what I want and then once in awhile you introduce something new.
I loved their first 2 songs and have just discovered their others. Hooked also!

The girl doing the interview was really good. Unlike many reporters, she really knew what she was talking about.
If this hasn't been discontinued, it likely means a realease in 2022 when things get back to normal. Quite understandable not releasing an album this year or last year, not to mention they've taken this long before anyway. Please let it be true! I want to hear new music and see them live next year!

Carla Arancibia Suazo it's like he's super awkward one on one but on stage he shines. You can tell interviews are out of his comfort zone. And I love how he starts to answer a question and you can see the thoughts in his head are so much deeper than he can put into words.

His parents raised him well. They should be very, very proud. I am 61yrs old, influenced heavily by an older brother 9yrs my senior. So to me there are the Beatles and then way down, down is everyone else, so i know he was influenced and inspired by the best there ever was. I am very excite by distant rumors of a new Empire of the Sun album or song possibly coming, but im really just hoping to get the chance to perhaps see them live....bucket list item for this old classic rock guy. Fingers crossed...a tampa fla, show maybe....???? Best band since the new milinium i think...even though i just found them not many years ago. RUclips....put that old Ibizza video back up....walking on a dream/we are the people. That video change my life and my thinking about new music. Peace everybody
