I saw them Thursday night 12/15 & Sunday Night 12/18. The last time I saw them was in Las Vegas at the Sam Boyd Silver Bowl Friday 5/19/1995, the opening act was the Dave Matthews Band

So many roads, although it appeared late in the game, is hands down one of best Garcia/Hunter tunes. The last time I saw it was at the Knick, summer 95, It was the only time a Dead tune made me cry......
Dennis Campbell , your right , so soulful. I heard a show were Jerry sang it in 95 and he sounded like he should have been in a Black Church Choir.
i cried at Jerry Garcia Birthday Bands rendition of Mission in the Rain, jan 11th..... tom anderson played it as the encore.... so many roads is a cool song no doubt but mission ij the rain is an anthem , especially if u were a drug addict guitar player like so many of us were:) lucy in the sky n good loving tinkle the sky also :)

i was there, tripping balls, my second show, i swear they looked at me and my girlfriend way up in the nosebleeds during lucy in the sky w diamonds, they were playing it just for Jane (RIP) cause of the way she was dancing.... thank you for the post, means TONS

I was at this one, too! doing time at USC down the street! We walked over and had a blast. The parking lot was pretty good too! lots of opportunities for a good time.

That was my first show as well, I was 21 it changed my life. Seriously it did, I realized I found what was missing during this show. I went and bought tickets for the Show 3 nights later and I got the last 6 tickets in the Arena. Our seats were Behind the stage and we could touch the roof. 10 Seconds after I bought the tickets the lady behind me tried to buy 2 and it was sold out. Thank you for posting this.

Hey! My daughter just looked up this show for me, and I've probably talked about this night more than any other night of my life, no kidding, it's actually defined me. So I lost my shit big time during Estimated Prophet/He's Gone, and left the stadium freaking out about Jesus taking everyone out of the arena in helicopters, then went back home to salem Oregon, flew out to see Garcia and Grisman at The Warfield, and never went back on tour after that. Does anyone remember Wind and her dog Newheart? She was very pivotal in that night for me. Also, if anyone remembers the yellow Tweety bus and the kids from Baltimore, I'd love to get in touch. Love and peace

I caught a couple of the LA shows this year, including this one. I remember thinking that Jerry looked and sounded rough, but just figured it was the end of the tour so he was probably just road worn and needed a break. Even with Jerry looking tired it was a good time with great old friends. I miss the carefree days of saving between tours so I could catch most of the southwest end of the tours every year. It didn't matter where they played if I could get there with a day of driving I'd get there: Las Vegas, LA, Shoreline, Cal Expo, Oakland Arena, etc. I just miss those days.

Saw the show w/ my girlfriend, who valiantly did her best. Note: don't take people who don't get it.
Afterward I took delivery of my new racebike in the parking lot, as my cousin brought it up from Orange County. That bike (Honda CBR600F2) made me a better racer!

I was just thinking about the Band and search came to this posting. I was at all four shows at the L.A. Sports Arena. I was working the taping section. One of the guys gave me a recording of the Friday night show on Saturday when he returned for the next show. Thanks for the bringing me back to the shows. I had a great time.

@@sneakerfacevids441 it was a great show .. I believe Branford played with them on night three of that run.. I was sidestage just above vinnie looking down at Jerry and Branford .. I made it into night 2 and 3 only that run ... I got in the venue night 2 just as they were playing touch of grey .. no clue where I stayed that run but I remember driving my ‘74 Ford Maverick down the grapevine into LA rushing to get there for night 2 ... only time I saw them with Branford if memory serves me .. I saw 23 shows in 92-95 .. first was 5-31-92 and my last was 2-20-95 in the ol’ Salt Lake City :p

For me, after like '93, it just got to be too much. After 200+ shows I had to hang it up. I started to see how Jerry was slipping and it was just too hard to watch. Not to demean anyone's experiences from this period and I know they still hit some high notes during this time, but it just got too dark for me. I came in kind of late, right after Jerry's coma, but to see how good he was doing compared to this 93-95 period really hurt me.

Wow. So happy to see this. This was my last show. The vibe in the lot was a bit off, but we still had a great time. I'll never forget it!

One of those nights, the scene outside the sports arena was Kaos all 4 nights. Grateful Dead in Watts 1894. That's surviving!

@@StanleeMouseslm sorry i was like 5 in 94 but i have based my life after the 90s dead concert vibes ever since i have started watching them its just too good i love jerrys interest and representation of country/bluegrass/folk music and he nailed the spirit of those things in the 90s.. believe it or not i never listened to them until i saw a roy buchanan doc where jerry opens it by talking about roy in a way that made me think oh yes they deserve a listen and then i looked up them up and found peggy o vegas 94.. 12 years later still here its amazing!!
