Feiyu Pocket 2S: They call it the "ultimate 3-axis gimbal camera". And it is a wonderful combination between action camera and gimbal. At pocket-size.

Good to know Feiyu brings us a detachable gimbal camera, at least this design expands my imagination and guides me to image there might be a wireless detachable head in the near future.

I came here to say you were correct. The Pocket 3 is wireless
I honestly can't think of a good application for the detachable head. If I want to remote mount something, I'll use a GoPro, or an Insta360 Go 2. The wire seems like it would be annoying too. This seems to be a solution looking for a problem.

Hey Eli, great to see your comment. I kind of use the exact same camera combo and would easily prefer it over this device. But it was definitely interesting trying it out.
One reason I'd use it is long form pov car recordings, the gopros to heavy the go 2 recording is way to short for my intended use but a removable head allows remote mounting with out suffering weight or recording time
It gives you far better motion orange in tilt-lock, and the smooth mechanical stabilization when turning. I've been using a DJI Pocket 2 and it is amazing. The detachable head like this one would make it perfect for my application.
Anything filmed at night time would be better on this with the remote mount. Sadly still not good enough quality
But recording length & storage is compromised w/ Insta Go 2. You don't get near the time.

No support for object tracking and the FOV is kind of fixed.
Do you have a chance to introduce the model evaluation of sjcam's small sports camera c100+ & c200!?
I asked SJCAM for a review unit, but they wanted to approve the video before publishing - so this is a no-go for me. I have no intention to spend any money on buying their products given the terrible quality in the past years. So - at this point seems to be unlikely to happen.
I think the bottom magnet design is great, so it can be fixed to a motorcycle helmet or bicycle steel bracket, hopefully long enough.
The cable seems to be long enough indeed. But now you can use DJI Action 2 instead.
There is also a version without the detachable head but as i see the results i think the better option is to go for the DJI Pocket 2
Mhm... SOmehow there are moments when stabilization is not right.
@@TechMishka yeah I think if they make a version 3 they need focus on no detachable heads and work on the camera quality in the whole.. Better image better stability etc than it might be worth it but for now I think it is a camera that I would not buy
Did the pocket 2s come with microSD card ?
Did you know if we can use USB-C to 3.5mm adapter cable (other than the original Feiyu adapter) for use externe microphone with the pocket 2s ?
It comes with microSD slot for sure. Most vendors don't include microSD cards.
And yeah - there will be a Type-c based microphone.

this thing is really inspiring and interesting but now it does need a little bit more shaping. DJI pocket will be a better choice for most users in my opinions
The cable is interesting, but DJI Pocket looks superior in image quality.. is there any plan to deal with the 4th axis stabilisation (the jumping up and down while walking)? Does anyone know of any product which deals with that and is not a super expensive expo-suit? 😀
Check Fimi Palm 2 - not that expensive and quite good.
Is manual panning and tilting by pressing the main unit´s toggle switches also supported in PCCAM mode and/or when playing out the camera´s footage via HDMI?

I think they need to get rid of the wire to the removable head, but of course it would cost more. But then you might lose your head making a remote video. Better keep the wire so you don't go crazy looking for your head. Another enjoyable informative review Michael.
Perhaps we are still far away from the time when wireless transmission can allow that much of bitrate to be transferred between the head and the receiver. Maybe next generation 🙃🙃
What would make it perfect is if they could make the cord detachable. I would like to be able to feed the cable through a hole and attach the camera on the other side. It would also be great to be able to replace the cable in case of damage.

Yes! The 2S has HDMI out
Definitely yes, I used one recently on a lectern at an awards show, it gives a clean 1080p60 or 50 out. The problem is you can’t move the camera while it’s outputting video, you have to use the app, set up the shot via the app preview then disconnect the app to get hdmi out again. So close to being a perfect conference camera for me, I’ve gone over to obsbot now.

I think 360 go 2 is most convenient. Wired camera is vulnerable in a period of time specially under the heat. This product need to revisit i guess.
There also is a version without a cable. But yeah - I absolutely agree with you.

A major drawback for me that I have read about the DJI Pocket 2 is the fact that it HAS to connect to your phone for use. And that if you don't allow location tracking (or other features), the DJI Pocket 2 will not work. I've read that the FeiyuTech line of products does NOT do this, which sounds like a major plus for me. I am not someone who is super worried about my privacy, although I do find this concerning. But more importantly, I travel places where my cell phone doesn't work. Or places where I would purposely chose to leave my cell phone behind.
Nope, you can use the DJI pocket 2 without connecting it to a smartphone. Not sure where you're getting that from but it definitely can be used without a phone.
@@KetaFPV I have seen on numerous websites (B&H Photo, Amazon reviews, being a few) that you have 5 "free uses" without contacting to the Mimo app. And that if you run the Mimo app with location services turned off, the Pocket 2 will not do anything.
@@KetaFPV Even looking at the manual that I found online says that the DJI Pocket 2 must be activated through DJI Mimo.
Can you please explain your work around? I really would like to use the DJI Pocket 2 as seems the best overall.
They use the activation because of many reasons. You can always use some random email address and share limited amount of information.

stay away from Feiyu gimbled cameras, have defective bugs
in it and gonna lose your money

This looked like a painful review to make without totally destroying this ….. why would you buy this? Only think is to attach to a helmet so you can control it but we all know gimbals do not work well with action bounce. Anyway what a waste
I was thinking about the same. SOunds good, but doesn't really work as good as we hope for. I'd always prefer an action camera for motorbike or bike riding.
It seems very clumsy
It is somewhat heavy. And hard to make the wire to look as good as during the unboxing.
While the camera seems nice, the colors are absolutely horrible... everything looks like a bad camcorder recording from the late 80's early 90's. Also the resolution seems like it's a 1080 sensor doubling the pixel count to get to 4K... it has very poor fine detail.
Yeah, it is weird that the color grading is so... oldschool
