We just returned from a 2 week trip to Japan. We watched this video many times before our trip and we used nearly all of these phrases. We used some of them many times per day. It made all the difference for our trip and the Japanese people we met were really happy that we made a small effort to learn these basic expressions. I also have been using Google translate and it helps a lot. You can definitely get by with no Japanese but it’s helpful and polite to know some words.

I want to try red bean paste, there seems to be alot of it over there. I just love eating food though and Japan seems to have an endless array of stuff to try.
