man i get the shitty sterile comedy of today but going in the direction of offensive for offensive's sake is so lame like even today that's being done to death on shitty conservative platforms
My original comment won't post or I can't see it, so I'm going to try to put it here. When I say you I'm not directing it at you specifically. ### Offensiveness is not the basis of good comedy. That aspect appeals to you because those ideas appeal to you. Blazing Saddles is 27x funnier than Tropic Thiunder by every known metric, and it's so left leaning that it would fall off planet if it was flat. That movie will always be funnier to a lot of people because -- besides Mel Brooks being funner than Ben Stiller -- those ideas are more appealing. By the time RDJ made Tropic Thunder he had spent some years in prison around black men probably for the first time in his life and came out saying that he would be voting Republican and that there were no decent people in prisons or jails. This is part of why Mel Gibson rescued his career So RDJ's role in TT wasn't just risk-taking. It was probably also a personal attack on the black men he encountered when he was sent away. It was also not surprising that Brandon Jackson's career took a hit after that movie. It should have elevated him, but neither his black acting peers or audiences would support him after that. So, I know you're not counting black people in the "things were better then" because they weren't for them.
Just remember, if it wasn't for heath ledger's iconic joker performance, we would've seen a blackface character win the Oscar
How would anyone remember something we don't know?
stoner movies from way back when fucking rocked man

Can you give a list of the best comedies of 00’s?
Just watched it a few days ago with my girl. Laughed our arses off
Great video!
Modern comedy is just bad attempts at dry humor or “that sounded better in my head” jokes
"Somebody finally said it." I thought during this video.
Also, you're a fantastic writer and perhaps my new favorite channel.
I've been thinking of this exact thing for days
Why make genre movies? Marvel has it all...
Woke is over, I think it will make a return without sensitives complaining now
And yet funnily enough, Stiller voted for Kamala. He couldn’t answer why. 🤷🏻♂️
I didn't vote for her but Republicans aren't funny. Hope that clears things up for you.
Comedies have been garbage for over 30 years. Including Tropic Thunder.
