First off, just so you get your demographics right... Alhambra, Monterey Park Area, that's predominantly Chinese. Long Beach is predominantly Cambodian. Orange County is predominantly Vietnamese. Secondly, The Greenlight was a real thing. Not only was it in Long Beach, but Surrounding area, even OC, Asians felt the heat. I want to set something straight for the record. Back during them times (late 80's & 90's), not all LA county areas experienced conflict between Asians and Hispanics. The San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles from Montebello on through downtown LA through Koreatown and all the way down to Santa Monica and Venice, THERE WAS NEVER ANY STATIC BETWEEN THE Asians and Hispanics. Never. It was a bit different with Long Beach and certain parts of SGV, like Alhambra, Monteray Park and City of San Gabriel. Also, strife between the two groups was LIMITED ONLY amongst thugs criminals and gang members. IT never affectef Asian and Hispanic hard working members of those communities. Lastly, I want to point out, which most are unaware of, Long Beach Tiny Rascals Gang, when they first started out, they got along very well with ES Longo. Matter of fact, for a VERY short time , TRG ran SouthSide. TRG's older homies from back then dressed like straight cholos - creased pants, Charlie Brown shirts and Cortez. TRG didnt dress like how they dress now with skinny jeans and colorful shirts. What turned things up side down was that TRG was made to pay taxes and because they refused to pay, all hell broke lose. TRG no longer aligned with SS and inside just rode as an Asian grey rag gang. ES Longos immediately turned against them, while NS/WS Longo , Barrio Pobre and other SS gangs remained on good terms with them. When TRG turned it up on the ES kats, in turn, thats when it got turned up in the Los Angeles county jail against TRG and the Asians, which we all know as the "Green Light on the Asians." It initially got put solely on the TRG kats but there were moments when some TRGs would rank out to get out of a near death beating. Realizing the situation and knowing TRG is almost all Cambodians, those calling the shots extended the green light only to all Cambodians. So Cambodians to get out of jam, Cambodians would claim to be Chinese or some other Asian. So to resolve any confusion and complications, the SS just put it on ALL the Asians, all but for the Asians that ran SS. MATTER OF FACT, there were instances where regualr Asians would claim to be homies, when they werent, to get out of a brutal beat down of a lifetime. So the green light got further extended to ALLthe Asians, including Asian South Siders. Eventually, the light got put off the Asian homies but the fact that it got put on them at all was F%$ed up. And then way later, the light eventually got put off ALL the Asians. And eventually, all the remaining SS gangs that got along with TRG was later forced to go against them. And the story goes on from there.

I moved to Long Beach from the Bay Area to go to LBSU and I was surprised by what I saw going on there. There was definitely racism going on out there. Up here in the Bay we move very differently. As an outsider I felt it on all sides.

I live near a black church for almost 10 years and this one particular year my friend told me the blacks rob a large amount of drugs from the Hispanics and there was a green light put on them. Every week for a little over a month or two there was a funeral every weekend. There's a lot violence especially in the 90's I know people that are still lock up due to murder. One of my friend's brother got over 20 years and was release this year due to murder and this was during the Asian vs Hispanic war. The old heads are all about money now only the young bang but it's not as active like the 90s was

I want to set something straight for the record. Back during them times (late 80's & 90's), not all LA county areas experienced conflict between Asians and Hispanics. The San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles from Montebello on through downtown LA through Koreatown and all the way down to Santa Monica and Venice, THERE WAS NEVER ANY STATIC BETWEEN THE Asians and Hispanics. Never. It was a bit different with Long Beach and certain parts of SGV, like Alhambra, Monteray Park and City of San Gabriel. Also, strife between the two groups was LIMITED ONLY amongst thugs criminals and gang members. IT never affectef Asian and Hispanic hard working members of those communities. Lastly, I want to point out, which most are unaware of, Long Beach Tiny Rascals Gang, when they first started out, they got along very well with ES Longo. Matter of fact, for a VERY short time , TRG ran SouthSide. TRG's older homies from back then dressed like straight cholos - creased pants, Charlie Brown shirts and Cortez. TRG didnt dress like how they dress now with skinny jeans and colorful shirts. What turned things up side down was that TRG was made to pay taxes and because they refused to pay, all hell broke lose. TRG no longer aligned with SS and inside just rode as an Asian grey rag gang. ES Longos immediately turned against them, while NS/WS Longo , Barrio Pobre and other SS gangs remained on good terms with them. When TRG turned it up on the ES kats, in turn, thats when it got turned up in the Los Angeles county jail against TRG and the Asians, which we all know as the "Green Light on the Asians." It initially got put solely on the TRG kats but there were moments when some TRGs would rank out to get out of a near death beating. Realizing the situation and knowing TRG is almost all Cambodians, those calling the shots extended the green light only to all Cambodians. So Cambodians to get out of jam, Cambodians would claim to be Chinese or some other Asian. So to resolve any confusion and complications, the SS just put it on ALL the Asians, all but for the Asians that ran SS. MATTER OF FACT, there were instances where regualr Asians would claim to be homies, when they werent, to get out of a brutal beat down of a lifetime. So the green light got further extended to ALLthe Asians, including Asian South Siders. Eventually, the light got put off the Asian homies but the fact that it got put on them at all was F%$ed up. And then way later, the light eventually got put off ALL the Asians. And eventually, all the remaining SS gangs that got along with TRG was later forced to go against them. And the story goes on from there.
