I used to love Anniversario. Kinda still do. But I’m sad my palate has “dried out” and I appreciate less sweet stuff now. But Pampero will always have a place in my heart as one of my first 5 proper Rums back in the 00s.

Wow. Really?!! I don’t remember that. I remember Diageo having a 6 month listing of Pampero Especial back in the mid-late 00s. But never the Aniversario. Wow. 👍
I think you missed the banana notes on the tasting and on the nose. I measure a good rum on whether or not I can taste the banana such as with plantation. It definitely has a banana note on the taste. And I can agree on the chocolate note on the end too.
@@StevetheBarmanUK no no,.nothin like any tax,.all tbe prices i tell u are the price from supermarket,.believe me,..last week there was offer,.one bottle 19.99 €..same with botucal(diplomatico),.37 euro,.sometimes 30 euro.i guess the alcohol tax is higher in GB. even the havanna club anejo 7 just 23€ is cheap for that rum.bacardi ocho 27 Euro, myers rum 13 euro, even the standard bacardis like Blanca,negra,oro,coconut,,.or havanna anejo 3 ,especial just 12-14 euro,i guess it is really ok. Appleton 12 years or plantation guatemala& belize 29 euro..wray and nephew overproof 19.99 euro. U can take a look in internet ,check the prices,.cheers steve

Good review Steve, like you Steve I think it is a good Rum that tobacco reference on Rum'X is interesting. This was one of my Dad's favourite drinks with a cigar, in fact I seem to recall he would sometimes dip the end of cigar in this
Even though i'm not a Cigar guy, i totally get pairing this Rum with a Cigar. Some are lost on me... but this one with the slight sweetness to it, i can get its a great pairing!
I have read a lot of good reviews about the Ron Colon Salvadoreno 55.5% from el Salvador. i'm considering bying a bottle for myself, and would be very interested in seing you do a review on it.
If you like Spanish style Rum.its definitely worth a try. Perhaps not as sweet as some of the other Spanish style rums and the extra ABV adds something

This is the black rum for me. Fantastic. Caramel and Raisin that lingers nicely. I keep this and OFTD as my two black rums stocked forever.

25 to 30 bucks here in italy, always have one spare bottle of this and the selección 1938 in stock
They have a step up of this rum for a little over 100 bucks 😊 but this one good enough

A very good rum, cheap yes, and therefore snubbed, but the sensations it gives are from a great product ...
