You guys really should check out The Chapters 1 through 8, the videos of Ren reading his story of his illness, they are on his secondary YT channel @RenMakesStuff - they are tough to listen to and you might just want to watch them on your own not for reactions.
The line where Ren says he cut a hole in his chest in order to feel again - he literally did this while in psychosis with glass from a broken TV in an alley.
Also, I believe (and I've seen others fans with the same theory) that Ren used the words Raw Thoughts in one of his lines as a hint that his next video that will be dropping is the track with Chris Webby, especially since we know they filmed the video the beginning of last month and Ren loves to hide little gems like that in his songs. 💙💙💙

Life is better for Ren, but as we know he is still in treatment for symptoms that continue, it maybe for life, but he deals with it. Ren is HOPE.
This track was sampled from a song called ‘trouble so hard’, originally recorded by Vera Hall, in 1937.
Ren has stated that this song has always resonated with him deeply, due to his own struggles.
Ren wasn't recording either... he puts out VLOGs on Facebook. And in his Comments he met the stem cell doctor.... Ren released 8 Chapters in wich he read his story to us. Its very heartwrenching but helps you to understand many of his music even better. And finally leads us up to "troubles"

Ren was realsing a part of a story a day for about a week until the release of this song about his life which explains alot of this song, and his life. I 100% suggest checking it out. It has some hard moments to listen to, but it really shows the struggles he went though. Its on his second channel Renmakesstuff. Great reaction.

With great power comes great responsibility, and Ren is truly a hero! He is using his growing powers and platform for so much more than simply creating brilliant music. Ren has said that he always had this feeling that he was meant to change the world for the better. So much that he defiantly yelled a challenge to evil into an empty room. And then he got sick…
Ren has now shared the full story of his health journey in 8 video chapters leading up to the release of this song and what a journey it has been. If anyone hasn’t already watched them, I highly recommend you do. With all the chapters he is showing immense strength in sharing his story that is so hard to tell, being vulnerable and telling it because he hopes it will help others and raise awareness. And here he is with another rendition of that story, now told through music with a fire beat and delivering a message of hope. A beautiful hero that the world needs ❤️🐰🕳️

Ren says he doesn’t believe in god per se. He doesn’t really know what he believes, but that he walked/explored a lot of those paths during his troubles. He also loves the storytelling of religion as so many people know the stories and there are so many different stories within faiths. Here specifically he is also calling back to lyrics of the sample.

The beauty of Ren is that he doesn't exploit his qualities like singing the highest, playing the fastest, writing the smartest, looking the coolest or being the nicest. He is a living example of a human being that wants to get his story across, he is the man, we deep in side, all want to be. Some of us are struggling to explain who we are, Ren has the gift of thousand ways to do that and is really f*ing good in it. He can help us become the person we really are!

In his journal he also says about the psychosis. He was convinced people were manipulating him. So he thought to himself "what would be the last thing they would expect me to do?". He stripped naked and lay on the main road in Brighton, laughing and screaming looking up at the sky.
No one is making art like Ren. He's in a class of his own.

He had Lyme disease but was misdiagnosed and was constantly being treated for assorted mental illnesses as the Lyme disease raged through his body causing pain in his head and excruciating crippling pain in his body that the meds he was given if anything did more harm then good suffering blurred double vision. He reach a point where his body was rejecting food and his mom was making him broths to get something into him. He was weak tired in pain , restless, sleepless. Expecting to die at anytime, still he kept trying to find help.

The "one time I carved a hole in my chest, just to feel" line is because he didn't feel anything because of the disease and the effects of the medication. If you look up ren makes stuff he reads his journal to you. On there he reads a part. Where he was walking alone and alley way and saw a TV with a broken screen and picked up a piece of glass and cut himself to feel something anything, even pain. At least he would know he's actually alive.

Moby mix in the background is fire . It’s a great video too. The original Vera Hall hymn Ren is very connected to. It was a hymn sung by slaves but shared the message of Hope. Dr was 25k but has a son who was also a struggling musician so said he’d do it if you document the journey. So he did band it’s still going on.

You're not alone in your thoughts on what he's saying in a religious sense, but I don't think you caught the angle. (My opinion)
Lord i forgive you gives an inkling, he needed no forgiveness. Quite the opposite, instead of asking, he's giving. And the yours to hold is us. He's given us his story, ours to hold.
He's not so much anti-religious... or rather he HAD lost faith but now he seems to be reconsidering...
Remember, the songs he made for the Sick Boi album were mostly written before he found hope in Canada. He WAS a Masochist who'd Lost All Faith but kept holding on in spite of it....
Here he's telling those who suffer as he suffered that there IS light at the end of the tunnel... and that there IS an end of the tunnel. And that maybe he's regaining some faith...or at least hope.

In the 25 verse, Ren did plunge a glass shard into his chest and pull it across ,in order to feel. He went in greater detail in the 8 Chapters he put out.telling the truth as he remembers it of his 8 year nightmare .Each Chapter ends with a song from that time.

I've struggled with physical, mental health since birth, malformations and stuff😞, I've been in dark and hateful place towards our Lord... I know it sounds egocentrical to have this need to forgive God, but I was blaming as well, pretty much the book of Job. I'm happy he made peace with God and hey... We need to turn our pain and strungles into Diamonds... diamonds are created under pressure, like us
He still gets treatments because he still has autoimmune disease because of the many years his body was wrongly medicated while the damage from the Lyme disease continued.

I don't think Ren has a problem with religion. I think he has a problem with people who exploit religion for power and greed. He considers himself an agnostic but I think he still feels like there is something out there greater than us,

I feel like this has nothing to do with Ren and religion. I feel like Him Saying “lord I forgive you” is Ren showing that he has battled and won the challenge that “god” put in front of him. The fault for all of his challenges is because of “god” and the blood would have been on his hands if he didn’t make it. What about everyone else who doesn’t have the next level talent that Ren does that get “challenged” in the same way and can’t do what Ren does? Does that mean that they failed? Ren got through everything and is showing the world that battling adversity is possible. That is HIS tenacity, not put on him by a higher power.
