This video deserve a lot more views. I have watched hundreds of badminton videos and your channel offers a very unique way of coaching! Please keep up the good work. What’s good about this channel: - The tutor role and tutee role are very well played. Mistakes are pointed and fixes are shown rightaway to address the mistakes in a very easy to understand manner. - These tips are super practical that I can’t see from other channels. For example, the non-racket arm movement really amazes me. I have seen this kind of movement in professional players but i could not tell how this movement is different from my current racket arm movement. - The videos are very concise! - The videos are very fun!
Very true. The backhand videos are also very informational, highly recommend u to check it out. It's like how technology has advanced and so have the strokes in badminton. We get to see a more energy efficient way to play in this channel. Absolutely insightful way to re-learn badminton.
im from indonesia have been coached around 6months and finally quite understand the movement in smash or lob which the coordination between left arm right arm and right foot movewent which i usually wrong in the timing
Super demonstration. Badminton is so much about timing and this captures so much about the chain, from feet, hip turn, to swing. I see now what Victor Axelson is doing as the chest opens up and then the pronation thru the shuttle delivers the power. It seems easier for me to see on a taller player. As I teach children, I try to get them to orient at least 45 degrees, not square to the net and work on hitting down with a quick, relaxed gesture. All the boys want to hit hard and often tense up with effort. It takes time to understand that technique creates power. A series of poses helps, using first position and final motions. Throwing helps, shadow play helps and I use a shuttle or sponge on a string to help with the angles. Badminton cross training would help pitchers and US football quarterbacks improve their motion. Timing is quite hard to teach but your videos are very good. I vary the feeding speed and use balloons or modified shuttles to change the timing demands. Any other ideas on teaching timing is appreciated!
some excellent technical points here, and very well communicated. i especially like the points about supination (rotation) of BOTH arms in preparation for hitting the shuttle. there are a couple things i would talk about here. 1) it is a style to allow the left foot to dangle a bit above the floor and is common for girls who do not jump, but for a jump smash you need to get down lower with both feet solidly on the floor while shifting most weight to the dominant leg, and 2) for me it is very important to translate force from the floor through the dominant leg and into hip rotation so that the right side of the hip pushes upward and rotates before the upper body. this creates torsion in the upper body that translates to more velocity in the racket head while eliminating the role of arm strength in generating power. if you watch slow motion videos of any of the great jump smashers you will always see the energy from the floor flow upwards in this way. i have subscribed to your channel and look forward to more of your high quality content
This is how actual coaching happens. When watching other tutorial channels, they explain the basics (very well), but you often have no idea if you're doing it right. This video is very similar to how my coach teaches me.

Finally this video actually explains how power is generated.. nobody on RUclips explained it so accurately... Please explain the full jump smash aswell..
oh wow, how have I not seen this tutorial till now? This beats many smash tutorials out there! It's well explained, well translated, long but with multiple demonstrations. Thank you so much!
Love your videos. The coach explains things very well. (In the subtitles at least) I also always thought you move both arms together. The Dr. Strange joke at the end was hilarious 🤣
This video is amazing. I've watched several tutorials but this blows those out of the water. So much nuance and practical tips that I've not seen before. Keep up the amazing videos! Thank you so much coach!
holy everyone teaches the method in 1:28 to swing together but this perhaps is actually the most accurate way, the delay rotation method. what a myth to bust!
Amazing video!!!! I was making this mistake for a long time... I have a request, can the coach make a video on how to prevent injuries, especially ankle injuries since even professionals suffer from it quite often.
What a great video!!! It's good to know the exact position ready to smash and how the hand should be when you are smashing. Now I can smash my friend better 😂

This video is gold. His teaching is very in-depth. This is what pros do when they train. Best badminton channel in RUclips easily.

I'm interested in moving left foot before right foot. It looks helpful, but still wants more explaination why it's better.
Hi Coach, great video, thank you! One Question: Why exactly the delay when hitting the shuttle? Thank you
Finally this video actually explains how power is generated.. nobody on RUclips explained it so accurately...
Please explain the full jump smash aswell..
Tthank you!

What does he mean by “pulling your wrist” in the 3rd point?

Thank you!!
What does he mean by pulling the wrist? Can someone explain that to me? I'm not able to understand.

I'm not too sure what he mean on step three "You should pull your wrist when you smash". Can anyone clarify this for me please?

Amazing video!!!! I was making this mistake for a long time... I have a request, can the coach make a video on how to prevent injuries, especially ankle injuries since even professionals suffer from it quite often.
Might sound obvious, but don't use cheap shoes. They tend to have less protection or cushioning.

Hi! Kindly make a tutorial about mens doubles attack and defense position and rotation :)
This video helps me how to play better
Very good lesson
Thank you^^
