- Thrice's final live song: "Anthology", capping 3.5 hours of playing time which none of us wanted to see end. And so it is - an epic conclusion to an epic journey - in front of the fans that gave them their first push toward legend. So here it is - 14 years wrapped up in 7 minutes. Thank you, Thrice...
DISCLAIMER: I shot this with my Droid, so the video quality isn't the best - but its serviceable. Sound is great though - and in my opinion, that takes precedence.
If you want to buy the song on iTunes: itunes.apple.co...
Also, watch Dustin perform DISARMED solo (mid-set). In my opinion, one of his best ever solo performances: • Dustin Kensrue - "Disa...
A couple nights before at the House of Blues (Anaheim, CA), during the Earth Will Shake, the members of Thrice's tourmates - O Brother (and I think Animals as Leaders)? came out and punished some drum sets to close out the song. Pretty epic. Watch that here: • THRICE - The Earth Wil...
ANTHOLOGY LYRICS:
Our life's built on tin cans and string
But the cornerstone laid is a wondrous and beautiful thing
Sure in the ground
While the North wind has taken its toll
You have helped me to find my way back and to anchor my soul
Safe in the sound
O you know me
O and I know you
And I know that
We can see this through
I bragged of baring my bones
Said if we heard the howling
I'd run out to face it alone
To meet it half way
But I've still got badges to earn
So keep sifting my soul
Cause I think that I'm starting to learn
To love you that way
O you know me
O and I know you
And I know that
We can see this through
And it's true that you could snap my neck
But I trust you'll save my life instead
Cause our love is a loyalty sworn
If we hold to our hope
Then I know we can weather the storm
Whatever they say
Come what may
O you know me
O and I know you
And I know that
We can see this through
thrice has been one of the greatest bands to have existed.
At least when they said "final show" they took the Nine Inch Nails method: take a few years off, come back refreshed, and back to rocking faces.
Identity Crisis, Artist in the Ambulance, and Vheissu are 3 of my favorite albums of all time. These guys were amazing, the first 'rock' band that I listened too back when I was in middle school, and the only band I kept listening to consistently as I got older. Stare at the Sun is still one of my favorite songs ever recorded. Sad that they will be performing no longer. These guys were real artists, and Dustin Kensrue is a true poet. Thrice 4ever
So bittersweet. Thrice will go down as the greatest band this generation will ever have known, or not have known. For 14 years, they didn't create singles, they created albums. Albums that would forever change the lives of those who listened. I was 6. SIX YEARS OLD! When they started. The first time I heard them was when I was 10. Deadbolt. This tour was one that NOTHING was going to stop me from going to. Thrice is family. They have always been there for me and I'll be there for them till death
Hell, I cried. They've been my favorite band for 12 years. One of the few bands that sound better live then on CD.
I wish I had been there. Not only is Thrice one of my favorite bands, but Anthology is my favorite song by them and the last song played by them. I woulda bawled my eyes out...
Thanks, Thrice :)
This makes me want to cry.. Ugh my favorite band... They WILL get back together! I hope.
It's not just Thrice but the fuckin crowd is amazing as well!
One of the most greatest bands that ever existed. They never got enough fucking credit for what they did. These guys are probably better than about 98% of ALL the other musicians out there. Musical geniuses. Thank you Thrice, for all you have offered to the world!
First saw them on fuse 2003/2004, when artist in the ambulance just came out. I was a freshman in high school then but I loved em ever since. Thanks for the music
I had the same feeling at the end of the show in Lincoln. We drove 6 hours to get there, and walked into a restaurant and had gyros with Teppei and Ed. When the concert ended we just stood there. We couldn't believe that the night was coming to an end. The entire drive there and back was spent listening to nothing but all of Thrice's albums.
So glad i made it to this show. such a bitter sweet night for me though seeing the greatest show I've ever seen but knowing that it could possibly be the last time I'll ever see thrice in concert. The only show that will top this one is their reunion tour.
I came to this concert and it was my first ever concert. They were amazing and sucks that I discovered them really late. But I can assure you that they will come back...
What a band! What a show! What a run! THANK YOU THRICE!
I wanted to go to one of their final tour shows soooo bad. But I sadly missed it.... Thrice was my first concert on October 22nd of 2011, and its sad to see them go. But I am glad that Dustin is going to being with his family for a while. Thrice, you will be missed! To all the members, please keep the music coming! And if you ever get the chance, get back together!!!
I'm glad there are no dislikes. This video does not deserve any
harry potter = epic
I remember the end of the Atlanta show. Thrice finished playing Anthology, and left the stage. The lights came on in the venue. And I just stood there, right at the barrier. I didn't want to leave. I just couldn't. Leaving would be admitting that thrice was gone. That another chapter of my life was over. Thrice was my childhood, I grew up with them. I didn't want to let go of it. But I had no choice. It's funny though, because when I got to the car, I wasn't sad. I was at peace. I was so happy.
We may not be the biggest fanbase but the most loyal.. Thank you Thrice! (Even though you are back in business! :D )
Thanks for uploading. A band that will be sorely missed by so many passionate fans, but I am so glad that I was of the right generation to hear this one of a kind band play live
Thank you Thrice for all your music
I had constant shivers running up and down my spine for the entirety of this video
Unfortunately I found out about Thrice very late. I never got to see them live, but after listening to many of their songs off of all of their albums I really wish I would have had the chance. They were truly an amazing band and a rarity in the music industry today. Even though I haven't known about them long, I will miss them :'(
I cried at this show durning this song it was such a good show
The best part of that song is the calm part of the bridge. Although it's pretty short, it's still hauntingly beautiful.
Thrice saved my life
Forever a fan of Thrice.
We will see you in the future, at some undisclosed time. That is all I needed to hear.
Other than Pink Floyd, Thrice' music has spoken to me like no other music group.. I'd say Thrice is in line with my spiritual beliefs unlike any other group that i cherish.
many thanks for the uploads, Thrice will forever live on!
Thrice new album 2016!! Can't wait :)
it's fantastic!
Thank you Thrice.
Thank you for recording this! I was cry ! THRICE ROCKS!
and this is the day angels fell from the heavens from all the heart break on earth
thank you, thrice.
Was up front right where Teppei plays... watching Ed slowly walk off all sad like made me cry :(
Goosebumps.
This is a group's soul laid bare... chills.
Someone please tell me why there are only 13 thousand views on this... One of the biggest heartbreaks of my life was when I missed this show.
What a great song to end things on.
I was there, Im not ashamed to say I shed a tear.
Thank you for recording this :)
Great band.
eddie's an emotional guy. i feel the same way he feels, probably less than what he's been through.
Thank you redux. This meant so much to me.
wow, that was just amazing. no words, should have sent a poet
damn. im so sad i couldn't make this. i moved to oregon two months before they announced they were going on hiatus, and couldn't make the trip home. saw them in portland, but it just wasn't the same. i await the day they suprise everyone with a random new record. =D
i wasnt there and i almost cryed. so many emotions.
Great Video!! thanks for Posting!!
Thanks, guys.
is it just me, or does eddie look just wiped. at 6:41 he just looks so sad. I understand a 3.5 hour long set would take the wind out of any sails but, he just looks sad. THANK YOU THRICE!!!
They're anyone's favorite band granted you've heard them before. Well, unless you're an RX Bandits fan... Then we get a competition going!
I have one signed by Dustin from a Beggars show a few years back!
Anyone who was there, do you know what that sign says that the kid holds up around 4:08? Dustin acknowledges it and points at him. Such a sick moment for you sir.
the feels...
thanks!!
They'll be back.
Ready for the reunion tour :D
THIS BAND IS FUCKING AMAZING.
Sad :( i've liked them since I was 3 /3
I was there. We were the people screaming deadbolt through the entire show =)
awesome
They're back nonetheless :)
i think its the observatory in santa ana, CA pretty dope venue
MTV did push thrice back in the early 2000's. There was a huge boom of "Post-Hardcore" back then, and of course, MTV jumped on and killed that bandwagon...
Saddest day in music history
Please check out my drum cover of Thrice's "Image Of The Invisible," and let me know what you think!
But I just started to get into this band...
I completely agree:'{
i await that day too my friend. - Luke of AM
wish i have one of the drum sticks riley was throwing out
got one from nashville in 2008
Just randomly found this...Looks like I missed out.
Don McLean may have just been writing about them when he was singing about the day that music died.
Anyone know if they video recorded this show professionally?
I dont go to concerts to be quite and im pretty sure your the same
dont pride yourself on that. normal fans as well as the band absolutely hate that
Where was this?
is it about thrice?
seriously man. The crap that mtv pushes this day doesn't compare to any Thrice song - Luke of AM
Why do they hate deadbolt?
I'm gonna miss Dustin "Triple H" Kensrue.
why saddest day?
Oh god dammit. I read the user caption and I cried too. Gay, gooey tears of salty semen.
Better be :(
that was their last performance lol...
check out my song the crash
:'(
Seriously..
I think this video is one of those times where thumbs down is better than thumbs up. Id give it a thumbs down that its their last show :(
