I looked at the Mahindra back in 2012 . . . there wasn't a lot of information or accessories available out on them back then, but once the Mining Industry started using them . . . bits and pieces started popping up everywhere. As things go, I'm in a Ex Electrical Authority GU Patrol Ute now, but My Son is looking at buying his first 4WD in 2022, and for price and build strength, he is looking at the Mahindra. Will be interesting to watch your build Roothy.
In India, Tatas and Mahindra make very good cars, durable and Reliable vehicle but still they are struggling. Because of dealers and after sales service, rip off customers. You can buy Mahindra / Tata spare parts on eBay. Directly. Better to depend on yourself than on company or dealership network. Give preference to your own TRUSTED mechanic rather than Company appointed private Dealers. My solution is buy Tata and Mahindra, but don’t depend on free dealer services as they rip off customer.. Get the servicing and maintenance done by some local TRUSTED mechanic. Best selling Mahindra pick-up in India Mahindra Bolero Camper Pickup Mahindra Bolero Maxitruck Plus Pickup. Mahindra Bolero Pickup ExtraStrong Pickup. Mahindra Bolero Pikup 4×4 Pickup Mahindra Supro Maxitruck Pickup Mahindra Supro Minitruck Pickup. Mahindra pick-up here in India is selling for Rs ( Means Rupees ) Rs 7,00,000 to Rs 8,00,000 But I don’t know the price they are selling in Australia. You can convert the above amount into your currency. As I have told earlier once you buy these vehicles, you are on your own. Because here in India after sales service provided by private Dealers is pathetic and car buyers get tipped off. So I gathered, people better TRUST their local mechanic rather than the company or private dealership. Here in India a large number of private companies Manufacture spare parts of Mahindra and Tatas vehicle. So their spare parts would be much cheaper and widely available than OEM Manufactured by companies. I know people in India, who are still using 30 year old Honda motorcycles and spares are purchased from local Manufacturers. So you can buy a very popular model of Mahindra or Tata vehicles and keep using them for a very long time. As spares would always be available as they will be Manufactured by other private companies. You can buy spares online. Without being dependent on private dealership Actually Indian Vehicles are more cheaper, reliable and durable than Japanese / Korean Vehicles. But Japanese and Korean Manufacturers give better After sales service at their dealerships. Problem with Indian vehicles is that a lot of poor people especially those in transport sector buy these vehicles and dealerships can be heavily crowded with Taxi drivers / pick-up truck drivers and you will find yourself one amongst them. Most educated people in India don’t want to be counted amongst Taxi and Truck Drivers. So again sales of the Indian vehicle suffers. Japanese and Korean cars are overpriced and private Dealers treat their customers better as they have brought **EXPENSIVE** vehicles.
What a great no bullshit adventure to take people on. I admire people like you that give it a crack. I have just bought a new GWM Cannon and lm just about to do a similar thing. I want to show Great Wall what they should have built. Keep up the good work. Andy G
I'm definitely enjoying experiencing the Mahindra, albeit virtually with you. I firmly believe that these utes and twin-cabs will become somewhat legendary. Fleet buyers looking for a solid. no-nonsense 4WD should be looking closely at these. Very impressive vehicles.
You really don't have to worry too much about your new toy, these things are tuff and durable. The M Hawk 2.2s are a 500,000k motor. Change oil and filter every 5k, you know the rest. You won't be needing to wrench on this any time soon. Enjoy your new car. I have a 2.8ltr Cummins and I did not go over two and half thousand revs for the first 40,000ks, it pays to run it in for a long time, now I am getting 8.0lts per 100ks, cruises happily at 100ks at 1700rpm stay safe
Hi Roothy, Normal sockets fit those wheel nuts as well. I have them too and it looks like you have to use the adapter, but sockets also fit and work. Cheers
Roothy I highly recommend giving ceramic coating a try. I've had Avalon King (from the States) on my new Mazda for two years and I swear by it. Dirt doesn't easily cling to the surface and so a lot of it is just washed away by water. It helps keep the exterior cleaner (i.e. less car wash maintenance!) and increases the life of the paint by a number of years.
Got mine a few months ago. First new 4 Wheel Vehicle (Had New Bikes) got a Warranty even, how goods that! And uses a third of the fuel of the Old Ranger. Mahindra Pik Up, pastoral pack like yours and HD Ali tray. NICE just as it is and with plenty of power.
@@JOHNROOTHROOTHY I don't have the Flash one Wheels mate. Happy with the Steel Wheels and Wheel nuts. I (pretty much) drove mine from the dealer across the road to the Rust Proof bloke. Be careful with those long wheel nut adaptors rooth. I just got new rims, went to use the adaptor, the length of it and the Toyota standard wheel brace made it go a little bit sideways on the first but and the adaptor fully cracked down the side!

Looks like this is it - and it mounts to the bar, relies on it for strength - you could get one fabricated pretty easy, just don't let them go more than 3mm = strong enough but not so strong it ywists anything. Good luck and keep me in the loop with your vehicle over time - thanks Dan.

Hi Roothy, I've finished putting in the winch, got a Kings one. I changed it a bit, didn't like the solenoid box on the bull bar, there's a spot behind the bullbar thats just the right size for it (and threaded) if you take it out of the plastic box, then I just ran extra wire for the plug and mounted the plug only on the bull bar, much nicer and room for a light bar that I'll add later.
