Everything should still be the same, you just wouldn't need to add any calibration frames. Let me know if you get stuck or have any questions. Good luck!
@@Naztronomy Thank you for the reply! im actually having problems, while it is in step 2 running the script it stops with the following message: "reading sequence failed, file cannot be opened: images.seq."
@@joseribeiro9564 Does it stop completely or do you get more messages after that error? Siril looks for two types of sequences files, one with an underscore and one without, e.g. images.seq and images_.seq. It does it because it's trying to support both old and new versions of the app. It usually fails on one but continues with the other. If it stops completely, then try stacking 1 or 2 sessions at a time because you may have a bad file in there somewhere messing with the sequence. Make sure you don't have an accidental jpg file in there somewhere, that could also cause the error.
Hey sorry, youtube sometimes doesn't notify me of new replies. Not sure why. If you're still getting that error, I'd recommend doing one session at a and see if that works. You may have a corrupted file somewhere. Unfortunately, you'll have to do some digging to find it. If it still doesn't work, then I'd recommend trying to stack these directly in Siril and see if that works. Maybe there's a bug with Sirilic.
Good question! I'd highly recommend checking out @KopLamp's video here: ruclips.net/video/lihYh83bfJY/видео.html - Martin is an excellent astrophotographer and he covers narrowband filter processing in Siril. I currently don't have any plans to move to monochrome imaging at the moment. Clear skies!
@@rossgould4168 When you create a new project and select the SHO filters, you'll get a new object for each type. For example, you'll have Object M1>Ha and M1>O3 and M1>S2. Then you click on each of the objects and upload the associated files. Then the rest of the processing steps is the same. I'm not actually sure if it outputs one stacked image or an image for each individual filter (I assume it's the former). Look at the first screenshot on this page, it shows an example using R, G, and B filters instead of SHO, but it's the same idea: siril.org/docs/sirilic/
Thanks for the video. I followed your tutorial and when I did action 1 (to copy the files etc) I got an error message "... aborted: Siril requires a minimum of 2 light images". I tried adding the files in a different manner as well as unchecking symbolic links, all to make sure it wasn't a bug concerning those things. I'm on macos 10.13.6 and using Python 3 to run Sirilic. I downloaded all programs today, so they are the newest versions. Any ideas?
Can you run it on Mac with elevated permissions? On Windows you'd run as administrator and on Linux you'd run with Sudo. I'm not sure what the equivalent is on Macs. Also check this thread out and try reinstalling/rerunning with the commands here, it might help: www.cloudynights.com/topic/806385-downloading-sirilic-on-macos/?p=12407374
I tried a lot of that stuff, but by a happy coincidence I actually figured it out a couple of minutes ago! When loading image files into my sessions i noticed that one session, in the work directory tab in the bottom left, never got an arrow where i could click to see how many files was in it. I realised it was always happening to the same files and it turned out that one of the folders leading to where i had my files had a very long name. After shortening that it seems to be working as it should. Fingers crossed I'll have my first image done soon!
I have a newborn in the house so it's really difficult for me to do any kind of live chats with anyone but I'm happy to answer your questions as best as I can. Thank you for this video, clear concise I was able to follow your workflow even as a newbie.
Glad it was helpful! Good luck with your processing!
Great job!!!
Thank you, Jacob!!
if i have a three night session with only lights should i do anything different as explained in the video?

Every time I try to stack my fit files in. Lights, the script fails. Why could that be and how to solve the problem?
Does it give a specific error?
Can you try to stack them directly in Siril? Just to see if the issue is with Sirilic or Siril itself.
