- I put this together because I love this song - and haven't seen a video attached to it, specifically for submariners. None of this work is my own, I just put it together...
Thanks for sharing, Don.
Completed 20 years Submarine Service as my father before me. RIP Dad, QMC (SS) Andis, COB USS Tiru
Hooyah
688 Albany 753 MMA2 Williams salute to your family and you
Thank You Steve , Sub Vet 85 -89 out of Groton.... 🇺🇸
Served on the USS Sandlance and USS John Adams then off to Submarine School Groton Connecticut to teach future submariners. Some of the best times of my life and I made many life long friends that I am still in touch with decades after we served together. Wouldn't trade that experience for anything.
I spent many years on those pig boats. Missed holidays, birthdays and other events. But I slept knowing our patrols allowed the to sleep peacefully and without fear. Silent Service forever
That is whay we do our Job, we do it for our Lovedones and for our Country.
Thank you for your service !
Son joined yesterday, ships March 2024... STS
Deeply moving. I'm blubbing like a kid and I'm not in the navy!
Every September 8 in Galveston, Texas. A choir gathers at the Seawall and sings this hymn as it is the anniversary of the Great Hurricane of 1900
Love this hymn - it was played at my father's funeral
RIP Frederick M Holmes Jr. 1940-2018. MMCM.
Hats off to Lt. Robert Pollack Guiler, the rock star of my mom's family. He and his crew of the USS Grampus never returned, on eternal patrol. War always skims off the absolute best from each generation.
Beautiful. In memory of Lt(jg) Frank Malinski, USS Thresher, April 10, 1963.
That hymn will bring chills and tears. 637 class fast boat sailor and proud member of the exclusive club of sailors with the SS designator.

RIP shipmates.
My brother served aboard the USS Scamp and USS Guitarro. Thank you!
What's your brother's name? I was on the Guitarro too.
The Guitarro sank next to the pier at Mare Island Naval Shipyard in May 1969. Was your brother on board when that event happened?
@@dondp23 My brother's name was Glynn Cragen
@@LooneytoonsIndville He was on the Scamp when it hit an underwater mountain. I believe '67 or '68. He was in Vallejo after that so the time period is right.
BZ Steve. Well Done and Very Respectful. Thanks for the effort to make this, and thanks for your service. Frank Hood Poopie Suits & Cowboy Boots
Thank you. STS3 (SS) Bergall667. Sunfish649. Norfolk714.
Thanks so much for the video and thank you to all servicemen who did go down to the sea in ships. I served aboard the USS Pollack SSN603 in the late 60's. It was the Permit class.
For those and their families who served I salute you. Please share your experiences with your families and friends. Consider it a gift to them as a part of their Navy inheritance through you.
I searched this seeking an official US submariner song, if there’s not one, it should be this. Shoutout to our boys under the sea, unseen but deserving of respect nonetheless
To all my former shipmates that served honorably on the U.S.S. Hawkbill SSN 666, U.S.S. Pogy SSN 647, U.S. Navy Diving Communities and their families that supported us.

Impressive shots of the submarine.
So very beautiful. Thank you so much, and thanks to all who served.

Steve Erickson - Thank you for posting this video. It is both nostalgic for me (a 637 class submariner) and shows my friends and family a little of the grandeur of submarine service. Your effort is worthy of commendation! BRAVO ZULU!!!

"Still on patrol"
Great job Steve! Love this shipmate, good on you! :)
Living in a submarine might be not the best but submarines are needed without them the exposure to everyone in sea is ridiculously dangerous
"O God, thy sea is so great, and my boat is so small"
Best submarine video Dolphins at the bow.
Thanks Steve. QM2 SS Robertson USS DACE SSN-6O7
My thoughts, prayers and thanks to the members of the armed forces and their families. They protect us in the depths of the ocean and seas somewhere in the world.
A moving memorial to our shipmates!
Served on the Woodrow Wilson and the James Madison so that my brothers and sisters of the USA can be free. Never a better cause.
MAY GOD PROTECT OUR PEOPLE FROM STEM TO STERN FOREVER MORE IN DEFENSE OF GODS WISH, PEACE THROUGHOUT THIS WORLD.

A moving tribute my friend
"We therefore commit their bodies to the deep, to be turned into corruption, looking for the resurrection of the body, when the sea shall give up her dead, and the life of the world to come...." Hallowed, indeed!

I would rather be referred to as BUBBLE HEAD sine Indyfish 697 Bob.
A steel coffin for man's made of steel
I'd do it all over again.
Revelation 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it
Um it's also used by the r.n,and r.a.n, just saying oppo
It isn't the US Navy Hymn. It started as simply a sailors hymn, with particular relevance to fishermen and merchant sailors. Then it was adopted by the Royal Navy while the US navy was still playing in the bathtubs. That Seawolf is outclassed in every way by the Astutes. However, submariners are undoubtedly a breed apart...God bless all of them...

I prefer the earlier versions - this one does nothing for me.
