I don't get it. Why didn't Canada try and put one in the middle instead of knocking the other team's stone out at the end of end 1? Wouldn't they have gotten a point then?

In the first three ends Ben Hebert has been playing out of his mind!

I hope the Sweden men are happy because the women won gold.

Yes but when you have hammer you try to score 2 or more points. By blanking the end they keep hammer in the second end and can try for their 2 points again.

It's definitely more exiting than Golf, or Figure Skating. I seems boring when you don't understand the rules, but once you understand it it's not bad.

At the end of end 2, why didn't Canada use the hammer to go from the left and freeze on Sweden's nearest-to-the-button stone, throwing it away and making 2 points? Is it a hard shot or am I missing something?

You'd have to throw it with heavy weight to take out the red. No way it would curl enough around the guard.

Alessandro Palmeira The guard up top is covering almost all of that stone, so it would be difficult to hit it with enough force to clear it through the 8 foot so Canada would get 2. It's not an impossible shot, but if they miss then Sweden would steal one, and the draw to the 4 foot is easier.

Ah, I see. If it's a tie, the hammer doesn't change. So they went for a tie to keep the hammer instead of lose it and "only" get 1 point. Didnt know that.

So they almost removed Wrestling as an Olympic Sport and they leave this silly nonsense in play? That's absolutely insane. You really have to wonder about people sometimes.

This is the greatest game of all times, it's not for dumb people that's for sure. You gotta be kind of smart to understand it, that's why is called "chess on ice", it's full of tactics and techniques

It would be chess on ice if in chess you threw the pieces att the borad from 5 ft away.
