Even German players recognized that Brazil was not in its usual form that day, and if they played again and again that result would not be the same. All the other previous games were pretty stressful, and all stress and anxiety culminated in that game. Without some key players such as Neymar and Thiago Silva, confidence was really low, and stress really high. And honestly, after the 4th goal i started laughing, my little brother however, cried.

This was my first WC and I still remember it vividly -- the entire tournament, not just this game. I was 11 years old and living in Taiwan, so the combination of being at the right age to start watching sports and the tournament being close to home made it the first major international sports tournament that I ever payed close attention to. Looking back almost two decades later, I think this was indeed a special WC, from a number of surprising early exits (France, Argentina, Italy), Casillas's heroic performance v Ireland, Korea cheating their way to the semi-final, and the fastest ever goal in WC history, etc. to the abundance of dark horses (USA, Korea, Turkey, Senegal). But in the end, arguably the two best football nations made it to the final. All in all a wholesome WC viewing experience.

Brazil were a 100% fit and brilliantly talented team while Germans came as strugglers in this WC had the most unfit squad, were unbearable to watch in Euros, GS exits in Euros, draws with teams like Latvia, Kahn being injured in the final still made extra ordinary performance. Taking nothing away from Brazil, Germans are extra ordinarily a great footballing nation

I was 4 yrs old when I watched this. For some reason my favourite players were Rivaldo and Cafu. I remember thinking German goalie was better than Brazilian goalie. Only later when I grew up did I fully appreciate this team. I want Latin teams to win Qatar 2022. Europe has won 4 times in a row, too much. Edit : I said Latin because I'm Asian.

I was 4 yrs old when I watched this. For some reason my favourite players were Rivaldo and Cafu. I remember thinking German goalie was better than Brazilian goalie. Only later when I grew up did I fully appreciate this team. I want Latin teams to win Qatar 2022. Europe has won 4 times in a row, too much.
