Dear Jon, I very much like the loving and constructive help you give those wonderful artists. The pieces you choose to showcase are amazing and I am in awe to see, what you do to improve them even further. So much to learn. Thank you to everyone involed for this incredible informative and inspiring lesson. And, as Jose already pointed out: Your voice is wonderful to listen to, too. Stay curious! Best regards from Germany 👋🏼
u r a great teacher, I was very impressive with your comments on the shape design and value stylizing for the second assignment, keep up the good work it really help a lot.❤❤ thank you, sir.
Question When using different layers and I add different layer fx like examples saturation color, add light, you know all those fx under the layers drop options. So my problem when I combine or flatten it. The effect change. Am I doing something wrong or is it that I am not suppose to flatten out the layers?
Yeah, it's better to not merge the layers, leave them as is. Better to export the image with the layers separated, since that allows you to edit them in the future. In a professional context, you never know when you'll have to work on them again, and merging the layers only makes things difficult for you. The reason your image looks different when merging the layers is because it changes the way the layer effects interact with each other. This is something you'll need to work really hard to fix which isn't worth the effort.
Hello there artists, may i ask what are your thoughts on the new AI that can generate insanely detailed art in seconds and tons of it? Will we become obsolete as clients and companies will have art on demand and even for free? I would love feed back, thank you.
Personally, I do detailed anime style character portrait pieces (such as peoples MMO characters.) so I have no fear of AI art replacing my job. It’s not yet at the level where you can have it perfectly recreate a custom character. Even if it does get to that point, my animated pixel art commissions do very well, and I don’t think AI art will be able to make clean pixel art animations at the resolution I work with.
Its boring and I wish people would stop talking about it already. Who cares. Nothing bores me to death more than having to hear about NFTs or AI generated images.
I like putting things on one layer because I feel like that empowers the Liquify option for fixes. Are there any ways to achieve this while keeping layers organized?
It's a bit of a workaround, but you can copy your entire layer stack, merge them together, liquify as needed, then press Ctrl + F on all your individual layers. This will repeat the liquify function exactly the way you executed it, so if you apply it to all your individual layers you'll get the same effect. :)
@Oyou lmao, I didn't think people like you still existed. feel free to try a digital software trial and see how easy it makes art for you. not even AI can make art for you because it's pretty hard still to wrangle it to what you imagine. but that's beyond the point

I just love proko.
Oh so that's how the pro does it.
As a fellow digital artist, I agree that a painting is better with a cat in it

@@aegresen thank you I thought I was doing it wrong
I’m personally more comfortable with adding several layers. Dunno, but I just prefer going through several.

This will never happen as long as people with good taste exist.
@@Vitalrose sadly companies aren't people, and are the ones giving career jobs
Stan, can u talk about how AI art is demoralising beginner artists who jus started.

A trick I learned using Gimp was to create a new layer from visible and do my blending on that.
in krita you can liquify multiple layers. I think csp too

@@JonNeimeister That is indeed quite a workaround! But thanks, it's a useful trick to know.
Can you do JFK as caricature please
What if you’re lazy
💜

Didn’t like it, I’m trying to learn how to draw with paper and pencil, do not like computer animation,
ngmi
This isn’t animation, and why watch the video if you’re not interested?

@Oyou I actually hope you buy an expensive digital art program thinking it’ll make art for you so you can see how wrong you are and waste your money.
