Multiple ship takeoff shouldn’t be rolling alternate sides of runway. Typically you all roll on one side, the other side is kept clear in case any emergency. Hot/cold sides
Per the appropriate CNATRA, AETCTTP, and FAA manuals. The procedures are correct as mentioned in the video. During Multi-ship Take-off, they will line-up and roll for take off staggered as illustrated. The reason being is that the aircraft taking off will need a clear lane in front of them in case of emergency. If there are aircraft lined up behind them in another element, they will just abort their take-off until the runway is cleared. Generally speaking, the 2nd element will not start rolling until the 1st element reaches a speed where no matter what occurs they will fly and deal with the emergency in the air. During a normal staggered landing, as when coming in from an Overhead Break is when a hot / cold side will be dictated. For the reason you stated. Once the landing aircraft has achieved a safe controlled taxi speed, they shift over to cold side giving a clear lane for landing aircraft behind them.
Excellent explanation, thanks so much for sharing that with the community!
Glad to you enjoyed it! Hope you found it helpful
Oh heyyyy New upload!
Unrelated comment but I think DCS should make some trainer aircraft free
Theres a few free mods that are good.
F-5 should be free or cheap, it’s a great starter AC
@@HighAspect The F5 FC version is relatively cheap in DCS. But its simplicity is great for learning fast jet operations.
Woot. Subscriber 501. Breaking the 500 ceiling :D
