I really like how honest this was to be from the manufacturer. When the presenter was just about to say the top handle on the Air version was a little less comfortable, I was thinking the same thing. Most manufacturers would not have said that. But then he went on to remind us that we don't usually carry from that handle anyway.
I am a budding wedding photographer currently working out of two textile backpacks with zippers. I think I'll be picking out one of the Air cases so I can lock my gear to something to prevent theft while I'm chasing the wedding party around.

Seriously, how amazing is it that Pelican has made these videos themselves, instead of relying on other people to do the comparison?
I love my 1615, and was looking for a smaller companion. Definitely getting the 1535. Great comparison, thank you!

Excellent comparaison. Thanks. I'll stay with my 1510. I do +150 flights (North American) per year and have had no problems with my 1510 for gear and a 1500 as a briefcase.

I just got my 1535 AIR Travel with the TSA lock latches and it absolutely PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!! The Pelican I'm looking to get is the1615 hopefully soon. Pelican makes the BEST cases in the game in my opinion! Made in the USA!!

For some reason all the major luggage manufacturers are now using zips for their luggage, despite how comically easy it is to open using a ballpoint pen. My next luggage will be a 1535 for sure.

Should have shown the hardware mounting holes inside the lid. Would like to see how the Air has them situated. Mainly because I'm out of a 1550 that I picked up new/used but is completely devoid of screw mounting holes in it's lid.

I wish you guys would offer these with swivel wheels. I know it may take away of space inside but the spinning luggage is so nice for moving in those long TSA lines. (I fly out of Atlanta)

Thx! I was wondering what the two strips of foam were intended for in the TrekPak kit for my 1535. Now I know. You all could do yourselves a huge favor by slashing the prices of the TrekPak kits as one can make them for about $30 or so. Just saying. I actually have another TrekPak kit coming for another brand's case (N**** 935) that I use for my photography equipment. That said, I will probably stay with Pelican from this point forward. And for the record, the pick and pluck is worthless in any case unless you need additional padding with the TrekPak.

Very good video! I own a 1560 with the TrekPak liner system...love it. Just returned from a week-long Alaska photo trip which, I took along my EF 500mm L lens...luckily, a friend loaned me his MindShift MP 3V2 carry on bag...all went well...and happy I took the long lens! Next trip tho, I would love to find a solution with wheels! Additional gear in the bag included the following: Lenses (Canon) - 100-400, 24-105, 20-35, and a 1.4 III extender; Bodies - 1DX and 5D Mk IV. Based on the specs I am seeing, either the 1510 or 1535 will work...the 1535 weight is pushing me in that direction. Suggestions with any and all experiences traveling with this equipment is greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!!!

I have a Peli 1750 I use it for a several thousand UK £ Surgeon action based rifle with NF NSX 56 MM scope & moderator. Peli is the only case I would trust this rifle to. The only issue is the Wheels they are like the steel wheels on my roller skates in the 1950’s. I have known lots of photographers who put in line poly skate wheels on their boxes as on RUclips . This is not an option on the 1750. Will you please consider making the best case the ultimate case and put quality poly wheels on your cases,

How comes the 1535 Air in your video comes with a top handle but all the cases online don't have one?

    • @PelicanCasesForLess
      @PelicanCasesForLess  6 лет назад +19

The ones with the Top Handles are the newest design/version. When they first came out they did not have a handle and after user feedback it was added. Most of the images you'll find online probably don't show but if you buy from us it will come with the handle since we sold out off all the old versions. Let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

Hi, are the wheels the same? I find the ones of my 1535 very hard and noisy. I don't really feel comfortable to carry it around on asphalt or roads with expensive gear inside. It's good for airports, alright, I get it, but on asphalt?? I feel like the wheels on the 1510 are smoother, am i wrong?

I just ordered an air pelican case and after watching this video now I’m worried. To me the air looks like it’s made out of that same shitty plastic that the storm cases are made out of where you can take your fingernail and scratch it. The original pelicans never had this issue, but I swore off storm cases years and years ago because of this.

Dee Yammy although heavier, it’s frame is more sturdy and you can get it with laptop sleeve, not sure if you can get that with the 1535. Ive now got both and love them both. The lighter one is nice for the weight saving but once full it’s going to be too heavy to bring on as hand luggage on a plane anyway.

I'm guessing not, however, I wonder if anyone is using these to shoot out of a car? I would like something like this, that would hold two pro style DSLR's (with integrated vertical grips......like a Nikon D4 type camera) with lenses (nothing crazy long) attached? Would one of these sit on the passenger seat of a Honda Accord?

@@michaelbobarev If you do the math from the specs, the internal volume of the 1535 is only 4 cu in less than the 1510. The specs say the internal depth of the 1535 is internal depth is 0.4 in shallower than the 1510. Neither difference is significant for me. The 1510 has the pull-out handle screwed on to the outside of a slightly shallower case. The 1535 has the pull out handle molded into the case to save weight so it appears to take up more space but it doesn't. The depth of both cases is 9.0 inches.
