I like how the commercials of the past, from my childhood at least--- they wanted you to spend money, but in exchange they wanted you to feel joy. Now they want to annoy you or trick you--- and if they are sentimental its so contrived and with attitude.
It's probably one I wouldn't have in my top 10 cmas commercials but not because it isn't good but it's like a hidden gem kinda overlooked, definitely honorable mention🏆
Luvs- Even as a kid, I found the idea of putting a diaper with prints of Sesame Street characters on a leaking water balloon like in this commercial is one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen. Cap’n Crunch Crunch Berries- Seeing the Soggies hanging on for dear life off of a Stalactite in the cave makes me laugh every time. Kodak Kodacolor Gold Film- Watching how the school play went throughout this commercial, I would imagine that this is how most people would remember the school plays they were in in Elementary School.
For several years i have been visiting your channel to watch hours of ads that were aired before i was born. I am glad that you keep them coming.. and i always love reading your selected commentary in the description. Hope the well never runs dry!
They really should have the McDonald’s ice-skating commercial brought back restored and remastered for the holiday season for the new generation. The only difference will be the I’m lovin it jingle at the end.
Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you! It’s been an extremely long time since you’ve uploaded a set of commercials from my hometown! I Absolutely appreciate it!
The 7-Up Spot sure was huge at this time, with multiple video games. It really was a great ad campaign, though.

4:50 - Always scared the crap out of me when I'd be at Burger King, and kids would just spontaneously materialize out of thin air like that...
Wow, I did not realize that the Oreo commercial continued to air in the 90s.
I have NEVER heard of that show "You take the kids" !! WOW! Looking that up next, I love Gimme a Break!
Funny thing about that "Class of '95" ad, those backgrounds wouldn't be a thing by 1995!

Awwww man……… I completely forgot about the Hershey’s chocolate drink box commercial……… And now I think I just got a few more gray hairs!

I'm glad Aunt Viv had that inhaler on deck.
Per this commercial block, it seems to me that 1990 was basically an extension of the late 80s. Aesthetically, they seem very identical.
1989-90 felt like basically the same year to me as a kid. The 90's really did not begin until late 1991/early '92 IMO.
I would argue that the 70s also extended into 1982, if the commercials on this channel are any indication.
yeah early 90s very much so felt like the 80s.
2:33 - This kid's got a powerful mouth...
Is that Mos Def i saw in that Nell Carter sitcom??!
Yes, he acted under the name Dante Beze on "You Take The Kids" which ran for 6 episodes.
