I bought the alginate powder but when I added water it formed clumps for some reason any tips? And the colour was a light bluish green colour it wasn't the purple liquid I saw. After a whil of leaving my hand submerged the water started separating as well I need serious help . Please...

color can be random, the powder you've purchased probably are not fresh/ expired

algitex may be the brand, however this material is known as alginate, if they are the same material then they should be the same thing.
