The Houston Chronicle should not have published this racist attack on a minor child. That child had every right to wear his hair that way. That Superintendent was a child bully and a law breaker, PERIOD!! He should be fired by that school district - Barbers Hill ISD.
Where are the brothers. I’m so tired of Black men standing in the background while our Black sisters call out unfair treatment of our own. At least there should be some noise from the Black men. How long will they stand back and be quiet?
Stand up and saying something does nothing the people who need to hear it never listens. Everything doesn't need to be protested its what make others not want to be around complainers all the time everywhere you go you see and hear the complaining

@candiicaine5596 Because that's a political trope from the GOP to scare their base. That term seems only to be used for Black people like no other ethnicities kill each other,
Ted Cruz and John Cornyn need to do something about this. They know they passed the crown act law and they know the school is breaking it. Put some pressure on our Senators.
I hope, he's putting the same energy into his school work. This is not the civil rights movement for hairstyles. The frivolousness of these causes is unbelievable.
Let me guess later on when he starts working and his employer say you need to follow the company dress code his gonna be crying about a dam hair style.
Keep guessing all you want. The Barbers Hill Superintendent is breaking state law. The kid is not "crying about a damn hair style" to quote you. He is standing his legal ground which he has every right to do.
The dress code states that a male can't have hair that goes below their eyebrows or ears. His hair doesn't violate that policy. They just don't like the hairstyle. In addition the school is in violation of the CROWN act legislation.
The dress code for the hair is discriminatory for black hair so no you don’t abide by it. You fight it. There’s never been a law made by white people that discriminates against them. Their laws only discriminates against black people. The white people don’t like it and so they won’t to force you to change it. Nope. As she said and it’s the truth, go look at the Indian and Mexican kids and some of the white kids in the year books. They all had hair down on the shoulders past the collars and below the earbuds. Why are they not being penalized? The reason is the policy isn’t meant to touch them. It’s meant to affect black men. His policy initially only was against hair styles worn by black people. This young man’s hair is well kept and nice so I’m sorry racist Karen, we don’t abide, conform or go along to get along with your racism so if you mad, get a cape and super mad. We don’t care.
No I do not, there is a policy that states how long and even how thick my hair can be, so no there are rules as to how long my hair can be, it is called rules, either I follow them or look for a new job, this has nothing to do about race, this has to do with following rules

This is about the 4th or 5th time in the last 6 months that I've seen this family and these news agencies try to get this story "trending". It's coming off like a grift and not quite adding up, and I have several questions. What were his grades and classroom behavior like BEFORE all of this started? Reading level, math skills, etc.? I think that will tell a big part of the story. Also, I take it that he's not the only black male at this school? If it's "racism", why are there no other black boys suspended along with him? They can follow rules and he can't? And why are we as Black Women always on the frontline defending the group of males who have always historically failed to provide for us and who murder us at greater rates than any other group of women are by their male counterparts? No male relatives or community activists willing to help their "brother" out?
@@BlkDymond73 and? I'm used to y'alls shade and attempts to silence and shame BW who marry out or even those that stay "loyal" but simply ask this group of males to do better. Absolutely ridiculous that we have lived in this country and helped build it, and are still being disrespected and railroaded.
Quit looking for the white man to solve your problems. Your victim mentality is on you.

Naw..all men need short hair
No manbuns nor ponytails neither
Imagine racism being sooo mild you only have to complain about a hair cut

Bring back the old ways, give them something to really complain about

It should not require an amputation for the young man to attend school.

What is an amputation, is female genital mutilation FGM
