  • 'Vessels' Steelmaking, Lackenby
Short video of the remnants of Steelmaking; Vessels A,B and C lying where they fell.
Its hard to put into scale the size of these without being close up in person, and seeing them in their prime.
The vessels were charged with iron from the blast furnace. With other additives, the vessels were then blasted at super high pressures with Oxygen, converting the iron into steel before being processed further.

Well done fella, from my own perspective these things are bloody huge, i was in my early teens, when Corby shut down, same fate stupid ass government. Taken nearly 40 years to get it back to a normal place, there's still parts of the land that cannot be touched. These Eco Alphabet soup squad have zero idea what it's going to take to get that land back to pre-steel works.

Any chance they will recover one and display it as a piece of the areas history, or are they simply too big to move?
