My boyfriend of 10 years is Mexican and I'm Filipina. Initially, I didn't know what to expect when I met his family and wondered if they'd accept me (he also warned me that they were crazy LOL). But, they've been nothing but welcoming to me and treat me like another daughter. They're like my second family, really.
Sometimes I felt like there was a cultural/ language barrier that prevented me from really connecting with them, since his mom is the only one who knows English and his dad is from Oaxaca. But they NEVER made me feel left out and always include me in their family plans. I feel like we still learn from each other all time and the more we do, the closer I feel to them 😊❤
