  • We’re so thrilled that planning has been APPROVED for our new Central African Forest habitat, meaning that work can start this spring!
The new area will see Critically Endangered western lowland gorillas and Endangered cherry-crowned mangabeys living together for the FIRST time in a UK zoo, in a habitat which will be four and a half times the size of the gorilla troop’s current home at the former Bristol Zoo Gardens.
This is a huge step forward in our plan to create a cutting-edge conservation zoo, where at least 80 percent of species will be connected to our charity’s conservation work in the UK and around the world.
Watch the video for an exciting glimpse of how the new habitat will look!
