Yes, it was a bit different but nothing new I lived in Italy for a few years (USN). The MSC Divina was my first solo cruise, and I did enjoy myself . Looking forward to my next MSC Cruise.

My cruise to Alaska and Northern Europe were nothing like this. All the adventure was off the ship. I would enjoy this ship if it never even left the port. And since I’ve been checking out cruise videos recently as I suddenly have interest, your videos are levels above anything else I can find.
There are a lot of cruisers who never do get off the ship. I never used to understand it. But now that's we've stayed during port days to film these videos, we're starting to see the appeal! Service becomes about 200% better when half the people are off the ship! Thanks for the kind comments. We don't watch a lot of cruise videos, but we've been getting some good feedback on the quality of our cruise tours compared to everything else that is out there, so we're excited to do more in the future and keep making them better!

Thanks Rhonda! We do feel that a ship this nice and this big really does have something for everyone. There are certainly areas of this ship that we mostly prefer to avoid (mainly due to crowds and noise level), but we can always find somewhere on the ship that we find enjoyable! If you do decide to give a big cruise ship a shot, a short, cheap MSC ship is a great way to get your feet wet!

Been on the ship my mom and dad said it was not their favorite but I still recommend people to go on it and I love the fact that you tore everything around and every time for drinks and get a piña colada or strawberry daiquiri
I’m going to the MSc seaside with my family in a year or months I just gotta ask what foods to avoid and to try. I have never Ben on a usa cruise before and I am from Sweden. So exited to fly to Florida I haven’t Ben to usa in years
We really loved the pizza, and pretty much all of the other Italian food (pasta, cheeses, and breads). We also really loved the prime rib in the dining room on the first night. Breakfast on the buffet was also pretty good. We did not eat many of the meats on the main buffet, and also didn't find many of the desserts to be very good. We hope you have a great time on your cruise on the Seaside!
The water looks amazing on island. We have heard mixed reviews of the MSC line but looks like you had the most relaxing time and that’s the best part of cruising. Love it guys!!
We've been on that island three times and each time the water has been beautiful, but the day we filmed our tour was the most beautiful we've seen the water on that island. It was unreal! Half the cruise was definitely not relaxing (the filming half), but once the filming was done and we were able to enjoy a few drinks, we were definitely relaxed!
My family just returned from a cruise on Seaside. Amazing ship. Great service. The good thing is that this is a BIG ship. The bad thing is that this is a BIG ship. Just much too crowded for me but that comes with the territory on these behemoths. We gave up on the pool for the grands after the first day. It was nuts. Elevator service was slow of course. Again, that's to be expected. The restaurants and food were fine. Our assigned waiter was extremely cordial and helpful. We cash tipped him extra. Now, here's the big bad complaint, and believe me, this is justified, not just whining. This is on MSC for poor design planning. We had 3 balcony cabins on the 15th deck. They were nice. However, directly above us was deck 16 (obviously) and it was open right outside of the buffet restaurant overlooking the ocean. At night other guests were constantly dragging around tables and chairs which megaphoned right into our cabin. We simply could not get to sleep until those folks decided to leave that deck. So, if you're going to book, do NOT book cabins on deck 15 unless you check first and make sure yours aren't directly below the open part of deck 16.
We're glad to hear you had such a good overall experience, despite the sleep issues. We'll make sure not to get a balcony cabin in that location on our next MSC cruise!

OMG, I LOVE THIS‼️‼️ This is probably the MOST thorough review I've ever seen! 😍 I've never been on a MSC cruise before (only 4 Carnival 1 Norwegian 1 Royal Caribbean) so I just wanted a glimpse of what to expect and your video did not disappoint - I'm so EXCITED after seeing this!! I will say, the only thing I noticed that was missing from this...was a segment about the professional pictures! I have to have em 😅 so I was hoping I'd see something about that, but still no complaints because you definitely filled me in on exactly where to get my Miami Vices from!!! LOL

Great video. We are doing our first cruise on MSC on the Seashore in January 2024. Looking forward to the overnight stay at the private island. The island looks awesome. we have been going to RCL Coco Cay since 2009 and we liked better before all the additions of the waterpark and large pool. Thank you again you guys are awesome.

They really do. Even the sister ships always have so many things that separate them from each other. MSC's definitely worth a try, especially if you can score a great deal!

My first cruise on MSC was last year on the Seashore and i enjoyed very much that i cruise on the Meraviglia last april , both very good ships and in both in balcony cabins for the same price as an interior cabin on Royal Caribbean and Carnival new ships(Mardi gras or Celebration)

Between the Mereviglia and the seaside which one do you think would be better for a couple? We both are vegan and love spending our days out in the sun by the pool. Thank you so much! That's tough because there were things we enjoyed more about each ship... but we will say that the Meraviglia seems to be more of a cold weather ship and doesn't offer quite as much outdoor space as the Seaside does. The Seaside also does have the Miami Beach pool at the back of the ship which was probably our favorite pool on either ship. So we'd probably lean towards seaside knowing that you love being at the pool and out in the sun! Now if you were more into staying inside in the AC, we'd have to recommend the Meraviglia.
Thank you so much! The Seashore is newer and bigger, but the Seaside is still huge and very nice. Honestly it's a toss-up for us. We'd just pick the ship that has the best price and/or itinerary.
Thank you. Very though call. Both had things we liked over the other. I'd probably say we liked Seaside a tad better, but Meraviglia would be better for a colder weather cruise.
From our experience, it's possible. We've shown up early for many cruises and sometimes you get right one, other times you have to wait until they call your group (which may be your originally assigned time or could be earlier/later). We think it's generally worth it to show up early, especially since it can sometimes take an hour plus just to get parked and back to the terminal.
Zip line related question. I could tell from the video it looks like Tyler had a GoPro mounted camera on his helmet, as well as holding a phone or some sort of camera device in his hand, are there any restrictions as far as taking your phone or camera on the zip line? Thanks
really love your ship tour, I have one question for you? I am booked on the seaside this coming October, I believe on deck 16 you said it was a Buffet the smaller version which was less crowded. Is there outside seating at this Buffay or is that only at the back of 8th floor Buffet? Thanks
Neither of us recall there being any outdoor seating in the smaller deck 16 buffet. For that reason, we still ended up on the 8th floor buffet most days (way at the back).
It looks like you could go out the back doors of the Buffet on 16 and basically eat at some of the tables that are semi-outside near the bar but it looks like they have at least a 5 1/2 foot glass shield and roofing over the top so you might get some air but not like I would assume you would on the Buffet on eight. @@Explorcation my grandparents were denied boarding because US Customs changed the rules on what's needed to board a week prior, but other than that, i had fun. I met a really nice bartender and Bistrot la Boheme. We became friends lol
Great video, very detailed. When you purchase drinks at bars included in your package, how do you leave the bar tender tips? Cash or is it charged to your room?
There is a tip fee charged to your room each day... but we do still leave extra cash tips when we receive good service.... nothing too crazy, but just a few dollars here and there.
Based on our experience on the three day itinerary, it seems common to have the Sail-Away and 70's/disco party on Day 1, the Lighthouse Show/Island Party on Day 2 and the White Party on Day 3.

That's so exciting. Thanks for sharing. Unless you are booked in the Yacht Club, I don't think there are any breakfast options other than the two buffets, the Seashore restaurant, and room service.
The spots on the upper floors that we didn't tour are reserved for Yacht Club guests only. We've never booked a Yacht Club room (they are quite expensive) so we've never had access to those areas and can't tell you for sure what you can all find there.
@@Explorcation 1. Food was mostly bland. A few dishes were ok. Everybody I talked to was disappointed. The sit down planned dinners, the food portions were so small you had to go to buffet to get satiated. The buffets weren’t good. The only good places with food were the restaurants you paid money for. 2. The speakers in rooms were so loud it hurt your ears. 3. Not much to do on board unless your a drinker or wanted to spend a lot of money. 4. The elevators were always packed and you had to climb stairs for everything. 5. You couldn’t go to the front of the ship unless you paid for the high class. 6. The muster drill made old people that could barely walk to walk down the stairs and not use the elevators. Poor old people had to shuffle downstairs with a crowd of people , it’s a miracle none were trampled or fell and got hurt. 7. When we went to leave we woke up early, and then waited for 5 hours to be met with everybody else to leave. And as we waited in the long lines the high class people were ushered through the crowds infuriating everybody who waited for hours. There’s so much more, I can’t remember it all

We've sailed on MSC several times over the past couple of years and have found the food experience to be improving, but there is still room for continued improvement. You are correct about the front of the ship being reserved for those who book in the Yacht Club. We've found this to be the case on all MSC ships we've sailed on out of Florida. We also agree with you on the muster drill. Of all the cruise lines we have sailed on, the MSC muster drill has been the most unorganized. We hope you have a much better experience on your next cruise.

That all depends on what you prioritize. If you prioritize good food/drinks/service, we'd probably recommend a Celebrity ship or the MSC Yacht Club. If you really like to party, you may want to look into Carnival. For a little of both, you may want to try one of the newer Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, or MSC ships.
Sorry to hear that. We definitely did not have any humidity/smell issues on our cruise. I wonder if there was something wrong with the air conditioning.
I believe this one we booked through Vacations to Go, but occasionally we will book directly through MSC. It all depends on who is offering the best rate/perks.

MSC does occasionally run specials for solo travelers. If yo are patient and wait for the right time, you can probably get a really great deal. As long as you have reasonable expectations, we think you'll have a great time!
I recently was on seaside. I will never go on another msc cruise. The old saying that you get what you pay for is very true with msc. The food is terrible. The ship was dirty. My wife and I both caught covid. I actually lost weight.😢😢
Sorry to hear about your experience. Unfortunately there's always a decent possibility of getting sick any time you put 5,000+ people together in a limited space. In what way did you find the ship to be dirty? We didn't experience that at all on our cruise. As far as the food goes, we can see how some people don't like it, especially if you stick mostly to the american style food. We really loved the pizza, breads, pastas and cheeses... but to each their own. Buy yeah, getting what you pay for generally rings true at least to some degree. These are generally very inexpensive cruises and do fall short of more expensive cruises in various ways.

I noticed he is wearing a t-shirt at the restaurant. Are not as strict as they say they are about what you wear on the ship I am a shorts wearing kind of guy all day and night on vacation.
From our experience, the main restaurants on MSC ships are generally not to strict on the dress code. Skylar definitely wore shorts to dinner one night and no one said anything.

Best tour out there.. MSC Seaside.... I have 29 sailings to my repertoire with MSC 9/2021 TO 5/2023... with 21 more already scheduled 'til 7/2024. I am a single cruiser, inside cabin, wifi and drink package... my next is July 30, 2023.. Balcony Upgrade.??? .... I was never offered. Thanks, Julius😊.
The worst cruise I have ever been on. 10/29-11/5/2023. The dining tables are jammed together & it was like being in a high school cafeteria. It was so loud I could hear the people next to me.
Fair assessment. Our first MSC cruise the food was a bit disappointing, but by our third cruise we had learned which foods they did well and never had a bad meal.
Just got off this ship last week. Food was HORRIBLE!!! and that is being kind. Staff is good but none of them seem to know what is going on. It seems like they all just started working there.
We've sailed on MSC three times in the last few months. One ship was only about 60-70% full and seemed to be properly staff. The other two were 100% full and seemed to be under-staffed. Regarding the food, we've learned that there are some things MSC does poorly, but also some things they do extremely well (Pizza, breads, pasta, cheeses.... basically anything Italian). Plus the prime rib the first night has always been great.
First time cruisers will think this ship is ok. But if you've been on any other cruise line, you will see the difference. We just returned two days ago. The quality of food and entertainment was........not good. A pole dancer on a cheap portable pole was the entertainment on the last night of the cruise in the main theater. So beware.
It's a massive and beautiful ship. While it has its flaws, it also has areas that exceed much more expensive cruise lines. From our experience, once you've cruised on MSC a few times you learn what's good and what to avoid, and it's then that you can really enjoy their ships. We are far from first time cruises and we still think the ship is ok (especially when considering the price).
MSC has beautiful ships but I will never understand the tinted windows everywhere obstructing the stunning views of the ocean. It's seriously annoying and makes me not want to book a cruise with them.
Yeah, the tinted windows are not our favorite thing either, but definitely not a deal breaker. But if you prefer spending most of your time inside, we see how it could be.

Speaking of questions. Do you have a breakdown of the MSC Ocean Cay? I didn't know you could be there during the night or let alone that there was a party on the beach!! That's pretty cool. Also, did they require you to be on board at a specific time after the beach party? Or could you literally stay there overnight? What time did you have to be back the next morning? The layout definitely seems weird to me. But your thorough explanation was great! I say this because I've been on multiple RC cruises and on Carnival too.
In our MSC Meraviglia video we do have some more footage of Ocean Cay, and we also discussed it a bit in our "Things we like and don't like about MSC" video. But someday we may just have to do a video just about Ocean Cay. I do think they told everyone that they had to be on board by midnight, or somewhere around. We didn't stay out there long enough to see if they actually enforced it!

My family just returned from a cruise on Seaside. Amazing ship. Great service. The good thing is that this is a BIG ship. The bad thing is that this is a BIG ship. Just much too crowded for me but that comes with the territory on these behemoths. We gave up on the pool for the grands after the first day. It was nuts. Elevator service was slow of course. Again, that's to be expected. The restaurants and food were fine. Our assigned waiter was extremely cordial and helpful. We cash tipped him extra. Now, here's the big bad complaint, and believe me, this is justified, not just whining. This is on MSC for poor design planning. We had 3 balcony cabins on the 15th deck. They were nice. However, directly above us was deck 16 (obviously) and it was open right outside of the buffet restaurant overlooking the ocean. At night other guests were constantly dragging around tables and chairs which megaphoned right into our cabin. We simply could not get to sleep until those folks decided to leave that deck. So, if you're going to book, do NOT book cabins on deck 15 unless you check first and make sure yours aren't directly below the open part of deck 16.
We're glad to hear you had such a good overall experience, despite the sleep issues. We'll make sure not to get a balcony cabin in that location on our next MSC cruise!

OMG, I LOVE THIS‼️‼️ This is probably the MOST thorough review I've ever seen! 😍 I've never been on a MSC cruise before (only 4 Carnival 1 Norwegian 1 Royal Caribbean) so I just wanted a glimpse of what to expect and your video did not disappoint - I'm so EXCITED after seeing this!! I will say, the only thing I noticed that was missing from this...was a segment about the professional pictures! I have to have em 😅 so I was hoping I'd see something about that, but still no complaints because you definitely filled me in on exactly where to get my Miami Vices from!!! LOL

Great video. We are doing our first cruise on MSC on the Seashore in January 2024. Looking forward to the overnight stay at the private island. The island looks awesome. we have been going to RCL Coco Cay since 2009 and we liked better before all the additions of the waterpark and large pool. Thank you again you guys are awesome.

My first cruise on MSC was last year on the Seashore and i enjoyed very much that i cruise on the Meraviglia last april , both very good ships and in both in balcony cabins for the same price as an interior cabin on Royal Caribbean and Carnival new ships(Mardi gras or Celebration)

Between the Mereviglia and the seaside which one do you think would be better for a couple? We both are vegan and love spending our days out in the sun by the pool. That's tough because there were things we enjoyed more about each ship... but we will say that the Meraviglia seems to be more of a cold weather ship and doesn't offer quite as much outdoor space as the Seaside does. The Seaside also does have the Miami Beach pool at the back of the ship which was probably our favorite pool on either ship. So we'd probably lean towards seaside knowing that you love being at the pool and out in the sun! Now if you were more into staying inside in the AC, we'd have to recommend the Meraviglia.

Question: MSC states that we cannot board until 2:30 but our hotel check out is at 11:00am. Will MSC let you check in early? Thank You
From our experience, it's possible. We've shown up early for many cruises and sometimes you get right one, other times you have to wait until they call your group (which may be your originally assigned time or could be earlier/later). We think it's generally worth it to show up early, especially since it can sometimes take an hour plus just to get parked and back to the terminal.
Zip line related question. I could tell from the video it looks like Tyler had a GoPro mounted camera on his helmet, as well as holding a phone or some sort of camera device in his hand, are there any restrictions as far as taking your phone or camera on the zip line? Thanks
Yes, he had one GoPro on a head strap mount and one on a wrist strap mount. They do require that they be attached to you in some way.

really love your ship tour, I have one question for you? I am booked on the seaside this coming October, I believe on deck 16 you said it was a Buffet the smaller version which was less crowded. Is there outside seating at this Buffay or is that only at the back of 8th floor Buffet? Thanks
Neither of us recall there being any outdoor seating in the smaller deck 16 buffet. For that reason, we still ended up on the 8th floor buffet most days (way at the back).
It looks like you could go out the back doors of the Buffet on 16 and basically eat at some of the tables that are semi-outside near the bar but it looks like they have at least a 5 1/2 foot glass shield and roofing over the top so you might get some air but not like I would assume you would on the Buffet on eight. Great video, very detailed. When you purchase drinks at bars included in your package, how do you leave the bar tender tips? Cash or is it charged to your room?
There is a tip fee charged to your room each day... but we do still leave extra cash tips when we receive good service.... nothing too crazy, but just a few dollars here and there.
Where can you find, or can you remember, which nights were which theme? We are going on the 3 night P.C. and back in August.
Based on our experience on the three day itinerary, it seems common to have the Sail-Away and 70's/disco party on Day 1, the Lighthouse Show/Island Party on Day 2 and the White Party on Day 3.

That's so exciting. Thanks for sharing. Unless you are booked in the Yacht Club, I don't think there are any breakfast options other than the two buffets, the Seashore restaurant, and room service.
So on the upper state room floors that you dont tour in this video, do they offer anything like the other floors, pools, bars, restaurants?
The spots on the upper floors that we didn't tour are reserved for Yacht Club guests only. We've never booked a Yacht Club room (they are quite expensive) so we've never had access to those areas and can't tell you for sure what you can all find there.

A bit confused, why is the buffet closed on port days. What food options are on the cruise if guest are staying on the cruise.
It's just the smaller buffet that was closed on port days during our cruise. The main buffet was still open.

There's not really a true nightclub, although the garage club is similar to a night club late in the evenings.

Never again! MSC Seaside was a nightmare! If it was my first cruise it would have been my last

@@Explorcation 1. Food was mostly bland. A few dishes were ok. Everybody I talked to was disappointed. The sit down planned dinners, the food portions were so small you had to go to buffet to get satiated. The buffets weren’t good. The only good places with food were the restaurants you paid money for.
2. The speakers in rooms were so loud it hurt your ears.
3. Not much to do on board unless your a drinker or wanted to spend a lot of money.
4. The elevators were always packed and you had to climb stairs for everything.
5. You couldn’t go to the front of the ship unless you paid for the high class.
6. The muster drill made old people that could barely walk to walk down the stairs and not use the elevators. Poor old people had to shuffle downstairs with a crowd of people , it’s a miracle none were trampled or fell and got hurt.
7. When we went to leave we woke up early, and then waited for 5 hours to be met with everybody else to leave. And as we waited in the long lines the high class people were ushered through the crowds infuriating everybody who waited for hours.

We've sailed on MSC several times over the past couple of years and have found the food experience to be improving, but there is still room for continued improvement. You are correct about the front of the ship being reserved for those who book in the Yacht Club. We've found this to be the case on all MSC ships we've sailed on out of Florida. We also agree with you on the muster drill. Of all the cruise lines we have sailed on, the MSC muster drill has been the most unorganized. We hope you have a much better experience on your next cruise.

That all depends on what you prioritize. If you prioritize good food/drinks/service, we'd probably recommend a Celebrity ship or the MSC Yacht Club. If you really like to party, you may want to look into Carnival. For a little of both, you may want to try one of the newer Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, or MSC ships.

MSC does occasionally run specials for solo travelers. If yo are patient and wait for the right time, you can probably get a really great deal. As long as you have reasonable expectations, we think you'll have a great time!
I recently was on seaside. I will never go on another msc cruise. The old saying that you get what you pay for is very true with msc. The food is terrible. The ship was dirty. My wife and I both caught covid. I actually lost weight.😢😢
Sorry to hear about your experience. Unfortunately there's always a decent possibility of getting sick any time you put 5,000+ people together in a limited space. In what way did you find the ship to be dirty? We didn't experience that at all on our cruise. As far as the food goes, we can see how some people don't like it, especially if you stick mostly to the american style food. We really loved the pizza, breads, pastas and cheeses... but to each their own. Buy yeah, getting what you pay for generally rings true at least to some degree. These are generally very inexpensive cruises and do fall short of more expensive cruises in various ways.
What cabin number did you have? We booked a tub for sept and wondering if this is our cabin lol

Yes, we saw quite a few people wearing shorts. Just no swim trunks or gym shorts.

I noticed he is wearing a t-shirt at the restaurant. Are not as strict as they say they are about what you wear on the ship I am a shorts wearing kind of guy all day and night on vacation.
From our experience, the main restaurants on MSC ships are generally not to strict on the dress code. Skylar definitely wore shorts to dinner one night and no one said anything.

The worst cruise I have ever been on. 10/29-11/5/2023. The dining tables are jammed together & it was like being in a high school cafeteria. It was so loud I could hear the people next to me.

Fair assessment. Our first MSC cruise the food was a bit disappointing, but by our third cruise we had learned which foods they did well and never had a bad meal.
Just got off this ship last week. Food was HORRIBLE!!! and that is being kind. Staff is good but none of them seem to know what is going on. It seems like they all just started working there.
We've sailed on MSC three times in the last few months. One ship was only about 60-70% full and seemed to be properly staff. The other two were 100% full and seemed to be under-staffed. Regarding the food, we've learned that there are some things MSC does poorly, but also some things they do extremely well (Pizza, breads, pasta, cheeses.... basically anything Italian). Plus the prime rib the first night has always been great.

First time cruisers will think this ship is ok. But if you've been on any other cruise line, you will see the difference. We just returned two days ago. The quality of food and entertainment was........not good. A pole dancer on a cheap portable pole was the entertainment on the last night of the cruise in the main theater. So beware.
It's a massive and beautiful ship. While it has its flaws, it also has areas that exceed much more expensive cruise lines. From our experience, once you've cruised on MSC a few times you learn what's good and what to avoid, and it's then that you can really enjoy their ships. We are far from first time cruises and we still think the ship is ok (especially when considering the price).
MSC has beautiful ships but I will never understand the tinted windows everywhere obstructing the stunning views of the ocean. It's seriously annoying and makes me not want to book a cruise with them.
Yeah, the tinted windows are not our favorite thing either, but definitely not a deal breaker. But if you prefer spending most of your time inside, we see how it could be.

Speaking of questions. Do you have a breakdown of the MSC Ocean Cay? I didn't know you could be there during the night or let alone that there was a party on the beach!! That's pretty cool. Also, did they require you to be on board at a specific time after the beach party? Or could you literally stay there overnight? What time did you have to be back the next morning?

In our MSC Meraviglia video we do have some more footage of Ocean Cay, and we also discussed it a bit in our "Things we like and don't like about MSC" video. But someday we may just have to do a video just about Ocean Cay. I do think they told everyone that they had to be on board by midnight, or somewhere around. We didn't stay out there long enough to see if they actually enforced it!
