      Hey guys, just want to state some quick feedback about the YC experience, because there is far too less of it. All in all, it is worth every cent. I would probably stick to the internal cabins, so you could go on a yc cruise and enjoy all the privileges (private dining with 3 waiters, 24h butler service, own concierge, VIP elevator service, premium drink package (all drinks up to 15€) starting from 1300€ for a whole week. (Just join the voyagers club and gain the extra 10% + 50€ onboard credit)
      You don’t have to wait for anything. There is a private pool / jacuzzi area, and you never have to deal with crowded spaces for the whole cruise. But if you go outside the yc area, you still can use all the privileges (premium drink beverages, the butler even takes you on a private shopping trip if you want to)
      One downside, that apart from the internal cabins (which are sold out pretty quick - right now up to 2 years in advance), the deluxe suite (the next cabine category) increases heavily with the price.
      I like your videos, so if you want more information about the yc (or msc overall) you can write me anytime. I sailed with MSC way to often - mostly aurea and two times yc (one deluxe suite on the MSC Grandiosa and one internal cabin on the Meraviglia). So I think I have experienced most of it ;D

      @@Alex-zt5mn wow thanks so much for the info on the Yacht Club, Alex! We agree that there isn't nearly enough content out there on it, so we really appreciate all the details. We were already wanting to try it for ourselves someday, but now we are extra excited! That's pretty wild that those interior rooms sell out two years in advance though. It sounds like we better book one soon!

    • @TowerKenny
      @TowerKenny 9 месяцев назад +2

      Yes, we have been in the Yacht Club, both on the Meraviglia and the Seascape, and even though it is a premium we very much enjoyed it
      Embarkation alone is worth booking in the Yacht Club. When you add the cost of a premium drinks package and premium internet to a regular booking you are probably spending LESS money for more.
      Then take into account that you have priority everything; a butler; a private concierge priority disembarkation, lounge, bar, dining room, etc etc, the value is even greater.
      Plus it's so nice being able to get away from the chaos of "gen-pop" as we've come to call it.
      For us, it will be Yacht Club every time we sail with MSC from now on.
      Cheers

      honestly, im worried that the yacht club experience has runied all other cruises for me lol. where else can you get that kind of luxury at that price point!? we paid as much for our YC balcony as we did for a regular carnival cruise!

      @@TowerKenny thank you so much for sharing your experience. After we filmed this video we finally did book Yacht Club and wow did we enjoy the perks! It really is a huge step up from the standard experience. We joke that it would be hard to go back to a standard room after having access to the Yacht Club.

    Its an European cruise line, and you get European service. That means: Staff will be friendly and their main purpose is to bring your food and to clear the table, after you are finished. If everything is fine, there is no need for the staff to be permanently arround you. And food: MSC is a cruise line with Italian roots, and as all Italian cruise lines, they have their focus on their main dining rooms. They want the guests to go to the (included) main dining rooms, at least for dinner and therefor the best food will be there. And the food mostly is Mediterranaen food: This will be not overspiced, no flavor enhancer, no overdimensional portions. If you have this in mind and have no problems with the European way of live, curise lines like MSC wont't disappoint you, if you can't handle this, better book another cruise line.

    • @Explorcation
      @Explorcation  10 месяцев назад +3

      Yes, very European cruise line which we mostly enjoy. From our experience the Italian food in the dining rooms was great (and not over-seasoned). The non-Italian food was not so great anywhere on the ship, but we are 100% fine with eating Italian food for a few days! Your take on the service seems to be pretty accurate too. On our MSC cruise that was only around 70% full, we had no problem with the dinner service. They weren't constantly asking us if everything was ok, but they did take our food and drink orders in a reasonable amount of time. On our more crowded cruises though, the service could be very inconsistent. Some dinners it took 20 minutes for our waiter to even take our food order, and on a couple occasions noone ever even asked us for our drink orders. It definitely didn't ruin our cruise, but they do seem to be short staffed when the ships are at 100% occupancy.

      Hi, I enjoyed your review… I’ve been cruising for 30 years and there is a difference from the people who are on three day cruises compared to seven day cruises…
      First thing on three day cruises people are usually there to party hard and possibly hookup since they’re typically younger, so I could see where the bars would be a lot busier and Seven day cruises you have plenty more time to drink and have a lot more families and older people so that may not be a bigger problem…
      Also RE: Food? variety of food on the three day are worst since the first day is usually just a mess anyway…Also, with the younger people three day cruise people, the RE: parties? I would be expected to be well attended since again typically again gonna be younger, and only there for three days to meet up and party on…

      I've noticed on holidays to Mexico and the Caribbean that Americans are really demanding and have expectations that would get them laughed out of many European resorts. They seem to think that because they tip that they own the staff.

    Just got off the MSC Seashore today. 12/10/23. We went on the Meraviglia last year and loved it. We booked the Grand Suite Aurea, room 10001 on deck 10, front middle of ship. Separate bedroom and the room was fantastic. For this 3 night cruise the only stayed at their island till 6 PM so we only saw 1 light show, 5 minutes. Buffet did suck, bars were hard to get a drink at first and room service was bad. We have been on about 30 cruises but after 2 on MSC I would and will go back on them before any other line. They are beautiful and if you hook up with the bartenders and tip properly they will take care of you.

    Thanks for the video and a very accurate review. As well, they have a status match with their loyalty program. They matched my Hilton Honors Diamond status with the MSC Voyagers Club at Diamond level. That provided us all the perks of the top status of the loyalty privileges on our first cruise with MSC. As well, we sailed in the Yacht Club on our first sailing. We have done RC in the past, but looking at the price, then about the same but all the luxury with MSC. The Yacht Club was great, premium drinks, express elevator, butler service, premium seating in the theater, as well when boarding / disembarking being lead by butler straight through the lines. 5-star all the way in the Yacht Club. We already booked again for the MSC World Europa in the Mediterranean.

    YC is absolutely amazing! It's worth every penny. At the terminal they have a special white tent check-in for your luggage. From there, you are escorted past all the lines to check-in area where a Butler whisks you up to the YC. You have your choice of indoor dining in the YC restaurant or outdoor at the 1 pool deck . Premium alcohol package and 2 device per person internet is included as well. YC has it's own: pool and sundeck with daybeds. Restaurant, lounge, concierge and reserved seating in theater. Priorty embarkation in all ports.

    Your proximity to so many cruise ports makes me want to relocate! And the negative aspects didn't scare me away from MSC considering all the pros and the value. It is honestly probably one of the top 3 reasons we moved to Florida! When you don't have to pay for flights and can take advantage of last minute cruise deals, it really can be almost unbelievably cheap! And the pizza and mozzarella really was amazing. Almost hard to believe you can get it on a cruise ship buffet.

And, together we have sailed 11 times total with MSC across four of their ships - Divina, Seaside, Meraviglia, & Seashore. #12 is NYE cruise on Seashore upcoming! This will be our 3rd time in the Yacht Club and we highly recommend it! It is most assuredly worth the investment! But, totally agree with your tips for success on board! I tell people if you invite the crew on board into your cruise and love on them, they will love on you! We have so many friends on board now across the company and it is always fun to see them again and we never want for fab service. @@Explorcation My wife and I have sailed 5 times on MSC ships; Divina, Meraviglia and Bellissima. All in the yacht club. And all at the least balcony suites (we had a two story with our own hot tub on Meraviglia, a little overkill for us). It's the only way we will sail now. (MSC Seaside coming up in October). To me, it is worth the extra cost. Wife is somewhat claustrophobic, so she needs a cabin that looks out. The balcony suites are only somewhat larger overall than inside cabins, but storage, bathroom size, general room size and balcony are worth it. The benefits of private restaurant (our experience has been a waiter and helper assigned to our table so service was never a problem), private pool with bar service and mini buffet readily available, drink package (no or at least very little waiting for bar service), private lounge (albeit the evening entertainment in the lounge is very laid back, but you can always take a drink with you and hit a party somewhere else on the ship), and priority boarding and disembarkation with a butler escort make yacht club well worthwhile for us. Been on 2 MSC cruises so far..On, coincidentally, the Meraviglia and the Seaside...LOL..Really enjoyed them both, but both ships were a little 'quirky' for us..
    On Meraviglia they put us in the late dining, which was at 8:30PM, who eats that late? Plus, that is bedtime for my then 4 year old grandson! Tried to change it but dining manager said there was no flexibility..So, no main dining for us on Meraviglia, and we experienced the buffet chaos..Then, we discovered that there is a section on the port(left) side of the ship towards the pool area which they designated as the 'Family Area' with a small buffet counter for the kids. It was generally less crowded and a lot quieter then the other areas of the buffet..This was in January 2023
    We were most recently on the Seaside in May..Very beautiful ship(they both are)..But I think I liked the layout of the Meraviglia a little better with the Grand Promenade..Again, they put us in the 2nd seating for the main dining room..However, this time we were able to get with the staff as soon as we boarded and got it changed to 1st seating! YAY! :) Got to experience the main dining room and really enjoyed the food!
    All in all, we have really enjoyed our cruises with MSC and will be sailing on the Seashore in May 2024..

We are a bit torn on which ship's layout we like better. We absolutely love the Promenade, but we loved that the Seaside had more outdoor space on the sides of the ship. But yes, both are absolutely beautiful and we'd gladly sale on either again. And yeah, we've been put in the 8:30 dining on 2 of our 3 cruises as well. It really makes it hard to do anything after dinner when you eat that late. It was generally dinner and straight to bed for us!

    I discovered your channel just before we took a 7 day cruise on the Seaside. So this video, and your ship tour, were very helpful. Thank you.
    We had a "Bella Balcony" cabin. It was very nice and comfortable.
    We returned just a week ago. I agree with all the things you "love". As far as the buffets...I was pleased with the variety and quality of the food, but I agree with you that the "Marketside" buffet has a frustrating layout. I usually felt like I needed a nap after circling it several times to find where they hid the butter or condiments this time. The smaller "Biscayne Bay" buffet actually had a better breakfast buffet (IMO) and was much easier to navigate. They also had free ice cream every afternoon! BUT...the food was good, the variety was more than adequate.
    And, yes, the larger buffet could be chaotic. There is no identifiable "route" and people tend to just circle around and dive in when the see something they want. Walk carefully!
    We didn't use the Wi-fi onboard. In my experience ALL shipboard Wi-fi is pretty terrible. I'm on vacation! My wife handled the MSC app fine and used it for our show reservations, etc. The elevators. Well, I didn't see an advantage or disadvantage either way. BTW when you press your floor, it tells which car will come and WHEN it will come. If it was more than 1 minute, we would run over to the adjacent bank of elevators and try there. In any case...they are elevators. They served the purpose.
    We had -0- problem with getting bar service. 🤷‍♂
    The Muster drill WAS absolutely the WORST! I agree. They told us in the announcements we had to watch a video on our cabin TV, then go to our muster station at 4pm. We did that. The crew member didn't arrive at the muster station until 4:15 pm and then told us we ALSO had to "Dial 881" on our room phone to indicate we had watched the video. Our cruise cards would not "scan" on his device until we did that! So....BACK to the room, dial "881" and then back to the muster station for our cards to be scanned. 😡
    We had no trouble with the dining service and the food was GREAT! But, I will concede that the dining room never seemed more than half full. We were seated at a table for 8 and were the only passengers ever at that table. 🤷‍♂
    Your videos were the best!

      We're so glad you discovered our channel and that our ship tour helped you to make the most of your cruise. Thank you so much for providing this detailed review of your cruise on the Seaside! As you acknowledged, a person's experience can be completely different on a half empty ship compared to a full ship. When we sailed on the Seaside it was completely full, and we're pretty sure we wouldn't have had nearly as many issues with the service if it had only been half full. In our opinion, the best thing about sailing during hurricane season is that you often times do end up on a half full ship, which can really improve the overall experience!

    • @Explorcation
      @Explorcation  3 месяца назад

      Thanks, Johnathun. That's a great question, and it really depends on how much you drink and how much you can get he package for. If you are going to be drinking 8+ drinks on each day of your cruise, it will almost surely be worth it. But if you're only drinking say 5 or less, you'll probably be better off just paying for them on the ship, unless your cruise comes with a drinks-inclusive package at a really good rate. I hope this helps!

I don't believe that MSC cruises at all out of Tampa currently, but we sailed out of Port Canaveral which is a pretty quick drive (although I-4 can be a disaster). I do think that they primarily run 3 and 4 day cruises out of Port Canaveral, but many people just cruise them back to back for a 7-day, that way you'll get double the time on the island!

    • @Explorcation
      @Explorcation  11 месяцев назад

      Yeah, it's hard to ever find a set price for the drink package. We've heard that it can vary cruise to cruise. One thing we do know though is that you can save a lot of money by booking with MSC when they offer a deal with the drink package included. Even though a lesser drink package comes with the cruise, it's likely going to be far less expensive to upgrade that drink package to premium when you get on the ship than to purchase the premium package outright.

      We have a few tricks to getting cheap cruises. #1 is we often cruise during hurricane season... there's a lot less demand in this time because kids are just getting back into school and many people are afraid of cruising during hurricane season. #2 we often book our cruises last minute (generally within a month of sailing, sometimes within a week). If you are looking to book during a more high-demand time several months out, the deals are definitely going to be harder to come by.

      We found the last minute rate online. We had another trip plan fall through last minute, so we hopped on MSC's site and booked a cruise less than 48 hours prior to sailing. We honestly don't know what the rate of the cruise had been leading up to the time we booked... but based on what the prices were for same cruise the next few weeks, we'd say that the discount was probably around $100-$150 per person.

    Fresh off a week aboard MSC SeaShore, I need to shed light on my stay. While musing, the memory of mediocre meals is hard to shake. The buffet? More a frantic scramble than a leisurely feast. And the ship's vibe? Far from a quiet retreat, echoing more of city clamor.
    Frequent elevator delays had us favoring stairs. As for co-travelers? Many seemed loud and less-than-gracious. And those nightly parties till 2 AM with boisterous, buzzed guests only added to the discord. The Mediterranean's majesty deserved a smoother sail. Reluctantly, this one's a pass for me. 😔

    • @Explorcation
      @Explorcation  11 месяцев назад

      We can't disagree with much of what you say. The buffet is a bit of a frantic scramble (although some areas are not nearly as bad as others) and most of the ship is definitely not a "quiet retreat". The elevator delays were something we experienced too, although we're usually more than happy to take the stairs to burn off some extra calories. We never had any issues with the other cruisers though or the nightly parties. We actually enjoyed the parties quite a bit, and when we didn't want to take part in them never heard them from our stateroom. We still have managed to have a great time on our MSC cruises, especially when considering how inexpensive they've been, but we can absolutely see why they wouldn't be for everyone.

      Hi Susan. Every MSC ship we've sailed on the main buffer was open pretty late (we think at least till 9 or 10) and you could also pizza well past midnight. We do believe that exact hours can vary by ship though. If there's a certain ship you are considering sailing on, we'd recommend checking to see if they have a Facebook group designated for that specific ship (most do). That would probably be the best place to get your nightly entertainment related questions answered as well.
