I love moving back if we can't get a top edge. You're board looks good to me and i agree our needs are edge, guard and nose along with safety and OL depth.
Reaching for an OT would be a big mistake, it's a weak class for tackles. It would be like drafting a QB in the 2022 draft where the top 3 were Pickett (1st), Ridder (3rd) and Malik Willis (3rd). To get from #10 to #7, is going to cost you a 2nd round pick - you're looking for more draft capital not less. If Carter or Pearce, Jr. are there, take the one who is there and don't look back. If you can trade down to the Dolphins, you should still be able to get Nolen or Umanmielen. If you get Carter or Pearce, Jr or Nolen or Princely, you've had a successful 1st round.
Given Braxton is a middle of the road LT, does it make sense to extend Braxton for one to two years on a team friendly deal, buying us some time to find out what we have in Kieran and draft and develop one next year.
I think this is 100% a prove it year. Absolutely no extension this year and see how he does in 2025, results pending, then let him go or negotiate an extension
The 2025 NFL Draft Order -- Equal Trade Value chart was magnifico! Was hoping you could create a chart for possible comp picks AND a chart for trade value for guys like Montez Sweat, Keenan Allen, D'Andre Swift. Bears are at least two years away from being stacked and they must hit it big with trades, comp picks, free agency and draft picksl
@erasethehate5616 It doesn't have to be at 10 though. The way the draft works, a solid G ought to be there in the 2nd round. May even take a C in the 2nd while we're at it.
@@RiChicago weak draft at C and still have Ricky Stromberg on a futures contract. We need a LG so Will Campbell might be that, or Tyler Booker but the well will dry up fast for O-line in this draft.
@gabrielruiz822 I'm not putting all my eggs in the Ricky Stromberg basket turning into a starting C. Campbell or Booker could very well be an answer at G, but I'd rather not take them at 10 when a potential impact pass rusher could be had and then an OL can be had in the 2nd along with an additional D-lineman. I see where you're coming from though since there are more quality DL than OL in this draft it would seem from an early glance. Gonna be interesting to see how Poles tackles FA and which holes are still needing more attention than others. Hopefully we can go BPA Trenches with our first 3 picks regardless though.
When you give up 68 sacks there is no way the Bears OL should be graded anywhere near the middle of the pack. Take Banks if he's there and be thankful.
Where do you see Arian Smith going in the draft and do you think the Bears could have interest in him late if he's still there? I think he's the type of speedster the Bears could use at least situationally, if not more, to stretch the field and he could be exactly what they need from a returner standpoint on special teams. I just don't have a good feel for where he will likely be drafted, at least at this point.
Once people see his combine speed, he'll jump up boards. He's very unpolished and can use some major coaching, but speed always wins in the NFL, so id imagine he ends up being at least a mid day 3 pick with that speed
giants fans seem not to be liking shedeur as much as everyone thought they would. with the hardest schedule in the league next year seems like they want to get hunter/tet/burden and then get manning next year
That's where Pro Football Weekly has that unit❤. The question is is it the line quarterback or receiving Corp not getting separation quick enough. Personally it is all of the them. Guards and center are where much of the pressure comes. Drafting there makes sense.
What do you think about Jalon Walker at #10? I think he'd be a great fit and will develop in to a solid edge. People are sleeping on him. He reminds me of a rookie year Micah Parsons before he moved to the line.
i would love to trade Braxton to a Tackle needie teams and draft a tackle with our 10th pick. I believe braxton cant be a guard because every time he gets bull-rushed he gets tossed to the ground or just can hold up. i believe we can get atleast a 5th maybe a 3rd or 2nd round pick
The majority of the time he gets bull rushed, he doesn't get "tossed to the ground" he also isn't a brick wall. He usually pushes the defensive player out of the play, away from Caleb 🤷♂️
Well first we would have to see what we did in FA. I am sure we will get some pieces. I like all your thoughts here. I hope Poles can be open to trading back if he gets good offers. Remember Cunningham pulled Poles back to trading up for Odunze. I hope he learned something. I do not have a great feeling of Poles trading back. I am really hopeing if he doesn't trade back for one of Princely, Pearce or A. Carter.
well considering tory taylor is already one of the best punters in the league, that wasnt a bad draft pick since it was unlikely we woulda found a starting olineman in the 4th
@ considering you still could’ve got him in the fifth or sixth round and picked up a much needed OL. A lot of teams have picked up starting offensive linemen in the fourth round historically and including this season
There are some elite players at certain positions in this draft. It is possible for someone to trade up for one of the best Safeties or CB's. Even for Kelvin Banks if he's there at 10. Banks is a top 10 talent, just not the priority need for the Bears
@erasethehate5616 All it takes is one team to not want to miss out on "their guy" at CB, OT, or even WR and make a jump up. If they don't they don't though, but if they are trying to then Poles better be ready to pounce at the opportunity. Too bad it isn't like last year where multiple QBs were looked at as top 10/5 picks.
Do you see Fields signs with? I think he is better than all of the QB draft prospects and at least a 40-50% of the starters in the league. I am not that high on the two receiver prospects you mentioned. There is around 10-15 DT/DE prospect that I would like on the Bears. Out the Tackles you mentioned I only see 1 left tackle play in league 3 to 5 years from now and the is Simmons. Banks may need to move to Guard or RT. The other two will be Guards.
With where the Raiders fall in the draft, I think they're in the perfect spot to go after him. And I think he should accept (unless the Steelers are smart and sign him instead)
Knew it! Threw the video on after work here and as soon as you mentioned someone not being mocked in the top 10 but should be or will be and my mind immediately went to Princely.
You see it every year. Mock draft simulators show outdated info. Princely had too special a year and his tape is too good. Every coach and scout will watch that and put him high on their boards. 🐻⬇️
@Beardownsports Oh 100% you are correct on that. The simulators always are outdated up until the month before the draft it seems. There's always guys I'm able to draft in rounds 4, 5, 6, 7 that end up being 2nd and 3rd round picks if not sneaking into the first.
I do also believe Walter Nolen is going to be a top 15 pick as well if not top 10 after combine testing. I'd love to see us end up with Abdul Carter or Mason Graham at 9, but of course that's highly unlikely. Pearce wouldn't be a bad one to fall to us as well, but a home run would be trading down and getting lucky having Nolen or Umanmielen fall into our laps at the same time.
If we're going OL at 10 & I don't want to do that I'd go with the guarantee stud G Booker from Bama. He's plug & play at 6'3 340 lbs. He's a mountain! But I'd prefer trading back & acquiring another 2nd.
If bears are going D line at 10 it Depends on who the coach is. Go with one of the Georgia boys. If it’s a 3-4 scheme i think Jalon Walker is a no brainer choice. But a 4-3, Mykel Williams is the fit. Williams is going to dominate the combine with his size and speed. I don’t see him lasting long. If you trade back, someone like Booker isn’t a bad option at guard, or Walter Nolan for sure.
Hard disagree about the team’s biggest need. Biggest need is “develop Caleb”. Most important position to grab: whoever helps Caleb develop. Grab the top offensive lineman to build a deep and sustainable unit. Think of it this way, you can trade for a stud DT to put your team over the top. Sadly Im coming to the realization my dream of Mason Graham is sailing into the sunset. Trade down as we need the draft capital and there is quality later. Im warming to Wyatt Millum as a new favorite in this draft. Love your work 👍
@deancorso4212 yeah, but last year is a completely different scenario. Having the #1 overall pick and resetting the QB clock, you're going to take your pick and not let others pick ahead of you
Hi Adam, is there a place I can find a tier list for each position in the draft? Like elite, A, B ,C or something like that? Not sure which players are the top in their positions and which ones are potential starters, which ones are high backups, etc
Depends on the teams and the players being drafted. I know that sounds like a cheap answer, but some players would start for some teams, some would start for others. But that is a good concept as I keep going through positional groups
@Beardownsports your answer makes sense. I am thinking more along the lines of just the Bears in that aspect. When it gets down to 2, 3 , 5 round, it is hard to Guage players to pick in a mock draft. I see a lot of RB, WR. QB tier lists but never a deeper OL, DL, DB list. Thanks Adam!
I know I've said this on your channel before, but if we had a half way descent OL coach out tackles would be in an even better position. I want the trade back and solidify the DT position. This draft has great options at DT outside the top 10. Bear Down!
FYI. Bears fans, there is so much that goes on behind the scenes. Caleb has a lot of talent, but over half the sacks were on him not throwing to open receivers. Same exact problem as JF. This should be coached out for the most part. Not everything is all great or all sucks. Most players are in between. Looking forward to Ben Johnson or Aaron Glenn getting these guys into the right mindset!!
@davidlarsen6175 The thing about the O-line isn't just about sacks, it's about creating push and opening lanes in the run game as well consistently. I'm sure Caleb will clean up the sack total on his part, but he needs improved play in front of him to allow him to do what he does best and that's improvise and create. Simply put, the line needs to be better.
Should be clear to anybody who looks at PFF or watched games that the Bears should strongly be considering an offensive tackle with their first pick in the NFL draft. I don't agree with any of what is said with respect to the Bears offensive tackle position and the stats and data support my position. On top of that, offensive tackles are on average the highest paid positions in the NFL and so if you can get a good one under a rookie contract that is next to invaluable.
Nobody is denying that we need an upgrade. Also need to understand we need 6 interior offensive linemen and 3 Defensive linemen (an an absolutely loaded DLine class) while we still have a serviceable Left Tackle on his rookie contract. It's about understanding draft value for needs and the strengths of the draft as well as our own contracts.
@Beardownsports I feel like I'm being extremely critical of your video here, but it's really just one point. For my money you create the best content on the internet with respect to the Bears, their salary cap, and their draft. Keep up all of the good work and I appreciate the interaction. With that said, I'm also of the mindset they would be better served to pay some money for a couple offensive lineman that are proven commodities as opposed to drafting unknown commodities when the future health and protection of Caleb Williams is at stake. How do you feel about this and who would you go after?
Yeah, they're all going to be completely different right now. I wouldn't trust any databases right now until after the combine. I would say Mock Draft Database and NFL Draft Buzz will be the closest
I’d love to take the Texas OT too lol but somehow I doubt either will be there for us. Trade down stack up on trenches and invest in that QB we had to have.
@markDwattssr kelvin Banks wouldn't be a Top 10 pick in any other draft so there's no reason to think he would be in this defensive loaded draft. If the Bears want to waste their draft pick on a LT, the opportunity should be there.
Neither of them are "literal franchise" LT's They're prospects that are hyped by our fan base but would probably be in the late second round in most drafts. Kelvin Banks is the best prospect in this draft at LT
Last draft I had the Bears taking Marvin Harrison at 1 and Brock Bowers at 9 Poles messed up big time Caleb Williams , I like the kid. I went to the preseason game to see his first game as a Bear. Every year you guys are going to make excuses as to why. He can’t find success. You guys on social media are good at making excuses. I don’t believe Caleb Williams is ever gonna sniff a Super Bowl. That’s my opinion. Don’t trade draft capital to move up 4 spots. A second rounder ? To put it bluntly that would be stupid. Rome is a serviceable receiver but to take him over Brock Bowers is laughable. Mason your a smart guy. But you missing out on the intangibles. Looking at the draft in a single minded way. A simpleton. Who you take constructive criticism we’ll. I still like your’s and swifty’s content. Build the Line Go Bears
You do realize that Fields is viewed by the league as a whole now as an afterthought right? Poles didn't mess up you just have no idea what you are talking about. The arrogance you have is incredible considering you are wrong. Rome is considerably better than serviceable. Would I have been good with Bowers? Of course but they had to look at more than just one season and maybe going into next year with DJ as the only decent WR would have been a mistake. They now have flexibility.
@@scoreyj13he did mess up Bowers was my favorite player from entire draft He is next Kelce/Gronk...Poles could have traded down Raiders wanted qb badly...We coukd have gotten 2nd rd pick and draft one of the top C or WR...and still we would have Caleb
Shedeur Sanders will be better than Caleb Williams year one! We can talk about it next year! Beating the Packers meant nothing, it was like getting a participation trophy! Only thing it actually did was worsen our draft position! Kelvin Banks doesn't have the agility or technique to play LT and he's a leaner. I wouldn't mind Banks at RT but we already have Darnell. I don't think there's any way the Vikings let him go
The Giants are taking Arch Manning next year. Cleveland will select a QB, they were very disappointed with Deshaun and his massive contract.
Edge Mike Green is way out of whack on PFN. They have him at 182. PFN also has DT Alfred Collins at 224.
Yeah, they're all going to be completely different right now. I wouldn't trust any databases right now until after the combine.
I would say Mock Draft Database and NFL Draft Buzz will be the closest
I’d take Jeanty at 10 if he’s there and we’re not trading down.
Blasphemy! 🤣
I would rather have pick 7 than a BS moral victory and pick 10. Now that we are in a worse position, trade down to pick up additional draft capital.
TRADE DOWN!!!
TRADE DOWN!!!
TRADE DOWN!!!
If you have a literal franchise LT like Simmons or Conerly available to you, you CANNOT pass them up
I don’t scout, but if they were “literal franchise LTs” wouldn’t they be ranked higher?
Neither of them are "literal franchise" LT's
They're prospects that are hyped by our fan base but would probably be in the late second round in most drafts.
Kelvin Banks is the best prospect in this draft at LT
@@Beardownsports incorrect on all fronts but go ahead and pop off king
Hold it, the Bears won the game! No comment on beating GB? Okay maybe you did it and I missed it. Good to see you again.
I was live for the game for 4.5 hours
🐻⬇️
O line can't make the QB throw the ball.
Emmanwori need him.
Underrated comment.
If there's any crazy scenario that he falls to 39, we better steal him
@ he’s special
Trade back twice gain mer picks .
Browns not taking a DT second
Yes trade back Twice
Draft Josh Simmons
and get more pics.
You can get a LT and RT in the 3rd or 4th Rd
Keep dreaming
Nah, don’t trade down. Get one of these studs Banks or Campbell.
Unless hunter plays wr full time then we don’t need him he’s a better cornerback I’d prefer Abdul carter or Kevin banks jr , t mchmillin
Take Will Campbell LG/LT
Trade down and get Simmons.
Last draft I had the Bears taking Marvin Harrison at 1 and Brock Bowers at 9
Poles messed up big time
Caleb Williams , I like the kid.
Build the Line
Go Bears
You prononuce it exactly how it's spelled Tet-air-Oa, Tetairoa.
Appreciate it 🐻⬇️
Last year's draft was definitely weak value wise
Drafting the punter was a waste of pick 122
He was our offensive MVP 😂
@@eldiablony274😂😂😂
Just read this morning Poles still doesnt know what went wrong this season 😂😂
Bears have 9th pick
10th
🐻⬇️
That is a lot of defense in your top 10. That's not the NFL I know and suspect of game fixing
This is a defensive draft.
Last year the first 15 picks were offensive
It's just how a draft goes. This is a super heavy draft at the top for Defense
Braxton is NOT a guard.
I don't think so either, but I'm just trying to understand the thinking of the Bears if they insist on taking a Tackle in the first round.
But he could play guard
Shedeur Sanders will be better than Caleb Williams year one! We can talk about it next year! Beating the Packers meant nothing, it was like getting a participation trophy! Only thing it actually did was worsen our draft position! Kelvin Banks doesn't have the agility or technique to play LT and he's a leaner. I wouldn't mind Banks at RT but we already have Darnell. We need three additional starters on the OL this year. Braxton isn't good enough, and neither is Bates or Shelton. We will be drafting in the top 10 next year... I'm done. This 💩 is frustrating!
Dude stop hating
@raymondtiller6737 hating how?
@ I read that wrong my bad 😂🤣😂🤣
The OL the OL the OL Period. Plain and Simple . “ F “ the Trade Downs !
