F1 2023 Circuit de Miramas (1926) | Pierre Gasly Onboard | Assetto Corsa

- Here's an F1 onboard lap at the Autodrome de Miramas located in the commune of Miramas, France. The circuit itself is a 5-kilometer (3.11 mile) long concrete oval. It was then, and to this day still is the longest oval circuit ever used in major automobile competition, an impressive record for a circuit built in 1924. It hosted the 1926 French Grand Prix.
This Formula 1 hotlap is driven in Assetto Corsa with Pierre Gasly in the F1 2023 Alpine A523.

This is a perfect track for modern F1. Two long high speed sections for DRS overtaking, hard braking zones for overtaking, and tight corners that would make Tilke blush, because apparently that's only what these cars can race on.
Perfect track for red flag
This would be DRS central. Monza, but even less corners and more straight.
Annnnd with tons of runoff.
I was just about to say this. The current generation of fans who piss and moan ad nauseum about circuits lacking gift-wrapped overtaking opportunities would love this.
It's like the Monza loop without the banking. Nice.
Looks like we finally found Rafaela's forefather.
To quote SouthPawRacer:
_It's like Monza but with falafel instead of risotto_
I live about 50km from this track and never knew this existed 😅
Now you do! It still exists :D
@@Mitsos1311 Thank you for this info👍
I think now it became a car testing center (some years ago for BMW now idk)
Miramas holds two records: the longest oval circuit ever (5 km) and it hosted the GP with less cars at the start (3, 1926 French GP).
Reminds me of classic monza
0:01 look how bouncy the car is
Speed. I am Speed
Interesting, are these chicanes from the 1926 layout or were they added later ? 1926 and chicanes kind of don’t sit together too often.
The first chicane was added in 1925, and then the next one was added in 1926.
I agree though, kind of unheard of for chicanes at circuit that old haha
@@Mitsos1311must mean the track was stupid dangerous even by 1920s standards
Exactly 5.000km!😮
This is like an oversized Homestead in its 2nd iteration going the wrong direction...
F1 wanted to try Oval racing but someone forgot to remove the chicanes.
I wonder if you can do next the las vegas 1984 indy CART race curcit as the 1892 curcit but except is a distorted oval shaped curcit. Also I want to see mick schumacher race on it too.
Can you do Goodwood Circuit pls my local circuit
Now in that city (not really in but anyway) there is a car testing center, some years ago that was a BMW test center
This is just a oval whithe corners and no banking
Nice observation
The perfect circuit doesn't exi...
When comes the 2023 Fantasy World Championchip?
But are the chicanes actually that tight or does the size of the car make it worse?
It'd make for a very odd race (provided nobody locks up entering the chicane)
They’re actually pretty tight but the size of the car definitely doesn’t help.
Here is the Onboard race video with Lewis Hamilton at International Autodrome of La Patagonia ruclips.net/video/nit1BW_Cvfs/видео.html.
Looks like its a proving grounds now.
It's just classic Monza
Kid: Can i go to Monza?
Mom: we have Monza at home
Monza at home:
Cursed Oval XD
Chicanes.
