@@pippo9830 Funny thing, Enzo Ferrari thought that the prize was too small and deserted the Silverstone race

I know thst will be criticized by someone but could you do San Marino '94 with modern graphics?
I've heard that another italian team will join the championship starting from the next race in Monaco, it's called Ferrari and it seems to be quite strong.
pff, a few years and they will become an Alfa satellite team
I don’t know, to break through in the current climate I feel they’re gonna need some serious talent both on track and in the pits... I mean, look at those Alfa Romeos!
I can't wait to see their strategy 70 years from now
Ive seen some of their products and I can say they have some potential. Should I invest?

Can you repeat the question?
It is insane that queen Elizabeth was there, Imagine she could watch every race since the beginning!
And all of them as a queen
Queen Elizabeth mentioned isn't current queen but her mother who passed away in 2002 at the age of 101. The current queen has reigned since 1952.
Its not Elizabeth II its the wife of George VI, The Queen Mother.
Anyway Queen Elizabeth II was there.
Siniset she was probably there tho

@@nathangamble125 The closest you get to Murray Walker is Jack Nicholls who does Formula E and was also drafted in for the Netflix DTS episode on the 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix, apparently. Jack has the same energy as Murray did in the last part of his career onwards from the 90s.
I don't think Sky would allow that. The WEC is on a different network, hence different graphics package. I actually like the WEC speedometer overlay from the front onboard on some Prototype cars.
I liked the moments where the grey car was on screen
Sad they weren't more imaginative with their liveries, TBH...
Mikeado66 it wasn’t their fault, the FIA only allowed grey cars and grey scenery for the first few seasons. They realized though that it was hard to score that way.

I love the way P1 & 2 on the grid are just two blokes in their 40s/50s
Fagioli is the only person born in the 19th century to win an f1 gran prix 😬
Absolute legends
@@TheRealZioPapillon I guess nobody will beat that record lol
It is a surprise that Luigi Fagioli is racing at all at the time. He's easily the oldest man in the grid (in his mid 50s, I think), and is more or less retired by then. His last race before this is in 1946, and even back in the late 1930s he's already struggling with crippling rheumatism.
But he is a fighter, he tried to keep on racing in the 1937 season even if he had to walk around with a cane, and in this season, he is consistently in the top 3, able to hang around with his much younger and faster teammates.
@@pavelcerny9803 there are exactly 0 people from the 19th century that are still alive so i guess you are right 😂
These are the most beautiful highlights I've ever seen on this race! I have seen so many versions, even in high quality: Sky Sport HD, BBC, Istituto Luce, RAI, but never ever so high a detail! My poor knowledge of English (I'm using Google Translate) had never made me fully understand the race, unlike your version! I know that Liberty Media would not allow you to publish entire races, but please, I would love to be able to see other highlights of races like that between 1950 and 1969!
Yes! To know what was really going on in those 1950-69 races would be great!
I don't think there is substantially more footage. It was shot for BBC news, while I am sure the cameraman would have shot some more footage it has long been destroyed and would not have been that long. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/formula1/52641917. Strange to think that right up to the 1970s that even during live coverage there would be areas of the track not covered by cameras.
they didnt film entire races back then. TV wasnt as big as it was now. THis footage is gathered from all over the web from all kinds of different archives. I recommend looking at his latest video where he explains how he makes it. It took 5 months!!! This was only made through tremendous effort
and byt the way, liberty media only has rights from races in 1981 and beyond. before that there wasn't anything such as a f1 media team and everything is just shot by news camera's or spectators etc.
back then only 1% of households had television sets
Wow, Alex Jacques was commentating since 1950, he is a legend!
This is such a massive amount of work. Wow. This deserves millions of views!

Hey there! You can watch full F1 1999 Season with modern graphics on my channel🙂
"Were in a land were the accents change noticeably every 25 miles”
As someone who lives in not so Great Britain I can confirm that, this is the most correct thing ever said about our country.
As a Brit as well, I can confirm this statement
Same in Italy 😂
Almost the same in the US, it’s more like you Have a New Jersey accent, Southern accent, Or a Hispanic accent, and then the usual American Italian accent, or your just no accent (mine) which is an accent in of itself
Or they don't speak English at all.
Mars Rwby mate you have an accent, you can’t not have an accent, that’s not how it works
My favourite moment was the starting grid graphics with driver pictures, shame it didn't continue lower down the grid, would be cool to relate more with those drivers from the 50-ties this way.
And makes sense, I wonder if we even have photos of all of them.
@@paulsd9255 We definitely have. A lot of the drivers in the field were vastly experienced veterans with race wins under their belt. People like Fagioli, Farina, Chiron, Etancelin, Bira, etc...
Others would later have their own victories and/or become involved in some other important teams. One of the drivers, for example, David Murray (driving a Maserati), would later form the Ecurie Ecosse racing team. The team would later be known for winning Le Mans in 1956 and 1957 in Jaguar D Types.

This was incredible to watch. We've all seen old F1 footage but putting it together like this just makes it feel more real somehow. And I love that Alex Jacques did the VO work, very cool.
It wasn't incredible to watch because YOU invaded the chat!
I didn’t know Alex Jacques was that old
TembangKartoffel He was commentating the video, the actual commentator was someone different
@lol shit 🤣🤣🤣
LOL😄
Amazing work Matt! Getting the one and only Alex Jacques to commentate really made it something special to watch
Seems like we weren't too far off when we said you got David Crofty in during last nights stream, Amazing work on the video Matt and having Alex Jacques there to commentate made it even better.
I had no idea Hamilton, Rosberg, and Hartley were racing back in 1950
Rookies of the season...
1:45 yeah, it looks like "first" retirement
I think the F1 official YT channel and FIA themselves should hire this guy to do more historic F1 races with modern graphics if he is up for it. Its just too good watching these races like this, makes things much more understandable and for me I think its giving the drivers themselves even more respect when their names are shown on screen. Well done!
I didnt know that Hamilton also raced in 1950
And Rosberg
Poor Max Chilton...
Awesome work, Matt! I also can't believe you actually got graphics of the first ever layout of Silverstone!
Dear Matt,
Superbly done, most enjoyable. More of this, please!
One addition you may consider: Adding the world championship standings after that first race, just as it is done at the end of the races usually. It would run:
Nino Farina 9 (8 for the win, 1 for fastest lap)
Luigi Fagioli 6
Reg Parnell 4
Yves Giraud-Cabantous 3
Louis Rosier 2
Greetings and a happy 2022!
Rolando Monello
Beautiful.
Shows you that despite all the years and all the changes, the spirit of racing is still the same.
Could you imagine a modern F1 car on this layout of Silverstone? Might be full throttle for the entire lap!
We need this kind of „remastering“ for every race prior to the 80s. 🤩
Epic. Everything about it. They should showcase your video on the official website. Chapeau!
this is insane.. I would love the whole season of 1950 in these type of highlights
This video is so underrated, they have to show it on TV or something like that. This video really put a smile on my face, it's so legit, kudos for your efforts!!!
I was impressed at the impersonation of one of the F1 commentators before checking the description and realizing its LITERALLY alex jaques
I was surprised that you actually mamaged to get Alex Jacques to commentate this....
Absolutely great work mate....!
Fagioli: "We have one push yes?"
Engineer: "Yes. But we agreed not to use it against each other."
Fagioli: "I do not remember that!"
:P
Grazie, ragazzi! Forza Alfa Romeo!
Outstanding. Thanks for sharing this footage in such a great way 👍
What an incredible job, thank you for making the most beautiful highlight of the first GP.
"Accents change noticeably every 25 miles" More like every town in Britain has their own accents
As everywhere in Europe. Only in Russia you have only one dialect over 12 timezones from Kaliningrad to the coast of Alaska....
@@chriss4154 they don't have accents in russia? That seems unbelievable
Oh my, what a masterpiece..
Great job, Matt..
Amazingly detailed, what a great video!
Postproduction on this is absolutely insane, Great Work!
This is just magnificent. I've been watching all the old seasons and trying to piece together what I can find from RUclips videos and race reports, but it's not quite the same as modern day. I would throw money all over something like this if it was ever created for old season reviews.
Oh, my goodness! That's absolutely brilliant!
So much respect, 5 months of work have payed off amazingly, well done!
Fantastic! great work. Can't believe Alex jacques was the special guest
This is an excellent production that you can be very proud of.

Magnificent work!
Amazing. One of the best contents about formula 1 on RUclips. Congratulations!
A good job from the crew a 25 sec pit stop
Redbull 2019: Haha
It really put another perspective to the race.
Great concept, and well done. So many more classic races to call
Wow! This is awesome! Well done! Great job! 🏁🏎️
Wait... so Hamilton and rosberg were already battling each other at this time cause if you look at the tower... ROS and HAM so I guess that rivalry started early.
Jokes aside, that's actually Louis Rosier and David Hampshire. Louis Rosier won Le Mans that year, driving for nearly the whole 24 hours, his son Jean-Louis only drove the car for a few laps before the finish.
1:25 and Pirelli was there already :D
Pirelli were the tyre supplier for Alfa Romeo and Ferrari in 1950 just like they are now 70 years later
That was awesome! :D Very nice graphics and nicely commented :D
Incredible work mate .
This is just awesome.
Those cars were that long so they could fit their balls within it.
I found this interesting that the first ever Grand Prix was held at Silver stone and how F1 cars looked back then, how you managed to make the video quality good and how many reitrements happened back then... Overall amazing video
The best thing I’ve ever seen. Congrats mate !
This is amazing, great work. Hope you will do more classic races.
Would love to watch the full race with modern graphics.
The difference between modern F1 and classic F1 is amazing.
It all changed with Collin Chapman and the original Team Lotus in the 70s. It's thanks to him that we have the wings and other aero parts today.
Amazing video man! Thank you so much!
Super cool, awesome Alex did it!
*For things like this, i love the internet*
3:03 "I could double that pitstop time", said Hamilton.
Maximilian Nguyen haha lol
Ahah, I can hear that in his voice!
Fantastic work my dude, you nailed again!
This is an amazing video! Well done! Really liked it 👏👏👏😊
Imagine those drivers and crew could see how cars are today aftet 70 years
4:00 Damn Hamilton P9
One of the best videos on RUclips! Incredible. I wish it was a bit longer :)
This is like top class editing.... Great job!!
didn’t know hamilton was in the sport since 1950
Very cleverly done - still prefer the old way, today we have excitable young boys trying to create drama when there isn't any - F1 meets Showbiz !
Great job. Thx for that video 👍🏽
Amazing video... Keep it up Matt! 🙌👏
Juan Manuel Fangio is a good driver, but to succeed he needs to keep his car in one peice.

Nico Rosberg and Brendan Hartley, too.
That is amazing Matt. Well done.
Good job, this is really well put together
3:11 this girl watched f1 in 1950
she's still watching it
She's been dead for almost 20 years, in 1950 the monarch was King George VI, and his wife was called Elizabeth and was referred to as Queen, but didn't have an official part in ruling the country as the monarch is a purely inherited title and one can't become monarch through marriage, like Prince Phillip today, their daughter also happened to be called Elizabeth, and she became Queen when George died in 1952
Alpha Romeo 1-2-3!!
Congrats!! Very well made👏
Really well done mate
