I love my jackery. I have a 2010 Ford transit connect and had thought I’d just start with the jackery and maybe graduate to a whole system. But i agree with you it has been so versatile and ja more than met my expectations and needs, I don’t think I’ll go through the expense and trouble to do anything else. Thanks for your take on it. Very helpful.
Hi josh ….I watch your channel and I have been entertained . I like the conversion you did on that Ford transit connect which you made a sliding cabinet door under the sink instead of the traditional pull door ...( brilliant idea) …..the whole built is beautiful/ awesome……you also started making belts and card wallets ey ( beautiful) …..Wonderful kiddo …….keep doing what you’re doing ……I should call you Jack for ( joat )? Instead of Josh huh? Hahahaha ……….definitely great work……
Thank you,
Dale
Subbed! You're very clear at instructing - learnt a lot here Thanks
Great review. I have the middle model of the Jackery now that I bought after power outage at home and I luv it. I will be buying the bigger one down the road for my future van conversion.
So helpful! Thank you for this excellent review (and thanks for many other useful videos).
Thank you for describing Zachary and how it works very much appreciated
This is a wonderful powerstation.
It works very well
How about connecting 2 systems together? or at least 2 batteries. Great videos.
As a portable power van unit for a travel/multi weekender charging port system this looks very promising. No permanent solar panel set up and enough power ports for a single person and devices. Cost is just a little steep. But maybe it’s worth it, who knows.
Josh, could you mount real solar panels to the roof and charge the Jackery that way?
Thanks josh. Great info. Would love to connect and build a van together one day!
Thanks, helpful.
Sounds like an easy solution! Can you charge it with the alternator, like in a traditional setup?
Do you still do builds for people? And where are you located and how long does a typical build for one of the transit vans you’ve done in the past... thanks
I do, contact info is in the description!
Looks nice
I use the Inergy Apex and have plenty of power to do what I need. I'm not running a ton of electrical items but can. It also can be charged 3 different ways. I charge while I'm driving and have 4, 100-watt solar panels to charge it. I recently bought an add-on battery that will arrive in March that will give me a total of 2600 watt hours stored. I have 6, 110 outlets and 2, 12v outlets along with USB, and 2 proprietary outlets for base camp lights that came with it. The portability of of it was a selling point for me and the ability to add more batteries to it for more power storage was the other selling point. So, after reviewing the Jackery and the Inergy Apex, the Apex won out for me. Inergy has wonderful customer service. Can't speak for Jackery's customer service. Just wanted folks to know there are similar options as Jackery to review. You did a bang up job on the review Josh. Thanks for taking the time to do it.
Ooooooops! Sorry forgot to comment on the jackery. It’s a great product , I have the 500
I think that thing is cool. And you get several ways to power it up.... 1500 is a lot of money..... But it seems well worth it... As a back up way for electricity in case you are on the road and that's the only way to get electricity.
Looking at the Jackery 500 for a cargo trailer (6x 12) for adventure bike hauling and an occasional over-night stay. Loads would be 12 v lights, fan and charging electronics. Seems reasonable ? Good content ... just subscribed!
Can you use jackery with out solar
Love the grommets - with caribiners, can hang it
Can you use it to run a coffee pot or one burner cooktop?
As long as it’s running wattage is under 1000w!
It is expensive I estimate with off the self purchase it could be replicated for $800. Money saved could purchase two additional batteries. Another reviewer pointed out that the lithium batteries Jackery uses have low service life. He estimated one year, I think really the system battery would last a few years.
Nice review
How many watt can you run in a 24 hour period without depleting the battery
Sir, you are one handsome young man.
Stay nice, wise, intelligent, humbled, and kind while in THE HOLY ONE of Isra’El.
Thank you for such great vids.
How is 1.5k affordable?
How long to charge with the panels, assuming full sun
That depends on how much it is able to take on buy solar wattage if we're referring to the panels for the 1000 model here it looks to take 200 watts of solar input also assuming if it has what's called a mppt charge controller that really maximizes the time it takes to charge by Sun especially if you have any partly cloudy days. I have a renogy phoenix briefcase solar generator with a built-in 20 watt solar panel and it takes 10 hours to charge by full sun lights but luckily since it's a microsystem and it's charging put is 120 my time is cut down in half by charging with just a hundred watts of solar input without meat in the house so many extra panels but when you largest systems like this and what's out now the jackery 1500 those rely on I'm so at least 400 watts of solar input because of the kind of batter that takes a lot of power to charge up. Another factor to take in is what is power being generated by your panels and the need to have to go adjust them constantly. If your system doesn't have a mppt charge controller in it then you would have to stay watching all day how your panels generate electricity and if there is a cloud in the sky or any Shadows cast on your panel then that means you would have to constantly have to go and pick up and move them around so they stay in full view of sunlight whatever your system has a good mppt charge controller then you can just put them out in one position and then they stay charging without loss of power 90% to 100% of the day including cloudy conditions or overcast. In cases of rain you may not get much but at least you'll get something that's what I give with my system at home, the money I put into it is the results I get back.
Cool man. Im new to vanlife and idk nothing about electricity. Do you think this battery would have a longer using life before it dies ans needs to be replaced?
I suspect the battery inside will last a while! Being lithium, they tend to last longer than age, gel or lead acid batteries.
If you don't go below 20% charge, it will last significantly longer. I've read that there are also battery life benefits to not charging above 80% if you get a smart wall charger that can do that.
How do you charge it from your 12 Volt van system?
It comes with a dc adapter that you can simply plug into the accessory port on you car/van. I recommend charging only while driving though as you wouldn’t want to drain your starter battery too much!
@@Josh_Oakes Thanks for the answer Josh 👍
🙂
Overpriced for what it is, but small and coinvent
For $1400.00 with them panels..I can build one 5x better... As 1000watts of capacity. Will be gone in no time flat....
