    Outstanding video, product and company. Thanks for doing this video. I am a proud AllianceRV owner. The use of Azdel was one of the reasons I chose Alliance over other manufacturers.

    Great presentation… I wonder to what extent more manufacturing companies would open there shop to presentations like this, it will challenge product quality. Healthy competition between manufacturing systems will improve quality! Thanks for the presentation.

      You are welcome. I believe that by doing walls like this they are working on changing the industry by example.

    Tony, great presentation of the Azdel product displayed in an open nasty outside environment on the Alliance campus. With a couple of years of Azdel product running around the US on Alliance units it appears that the industry is on it's way to reducing the delam issue. This is probably one of the most under-appreciated aspects of an RV because consumers live "in" the unit and are generally caught up in the interior "bling" as their exteriors start to deteriorate around them, many times unnoticed. As a Seattle native with my RV sitting in a marine environment for much of the year, there is no way my existing sidewall with luan construction survives the test next to the Azdel product as displayed. I have spent more time near constantly maintaining and watching my RV than I care to admit. Azdel will go a long way to reduce the maintenance cycles and I am very happy about that. Tomorrow, I'll be flying home to Seattle from the NRVTA campus having just wrapped up the Inspection Certification training today. Cheers, Tim

    I'm looking forward to the day that I can afford an upgrade to the Alliance 37V13. I believe that Alliance is on the forefront of recreating the Consumer-driven RV market! A huge step away from the common; this is what you get industry.

    The panel left out side, it's all white, less than a year and not flexing as would if on a unit.
    I'm not trying to put down there product. What I see in comparison with luan is, that the white foam board insulation is that it is made up of very small cells. I would think that blue board insulation would be more durable. Tho the white may have a little bit better insulation factor.
    When a unit is over 30 to 35 foot long, the unit tends to want to flex more.
    Maybe in the future we will see somewhere in the middle of a unit a built in flex point.
    This would eliminate any chance of delamination.
    Until that time, hats off to them for improving on an already great product.

    Looks like an efficient process with good materials. Maybe someday the RV industry will try vacuum bagging or even resin infusion and vacuum bagging as found in modern boat building. No voids that way for sure. But all in all, looks like a good process.

    • @NationalRVTrainingAcademy
      @NationalRVTrainingAcademy  2 года назад

      I'm sure that there are companies in elkhart testing different processes. the hard part is balancing build quality with weight savings. it's like walking a tight rope.

    • @JeffInDFW
      @JeffInDFW Год назад

      Jayco, Rockwood, East to West and many others DO use vacuum bonding lamination. 140 tons of pressure for 16 minutes I believe. But the equipment to do it is expensive so Keystone, Grand Design, and Alliance use pinch rolling instead. Glad they use double Azdel, but pinch rolling is a let down.

      If they only implement the a frame on the delta. Not a big fan of the drop frame on the delta to get the storage space up front.

    Thanks for the video. Living as a Full Time in a RV 7 months here in Canada. Does anyone know the "R" Value of AZDEL compared to a LUAN side wall ?

  • @terryhaynes1596
    @terryhaynes1596 2 года назад +1

    I too wish all manufacturers used Azdel, and there are several brands that do. But there are many other critical components and design features that should be considered when purchasing an RV. Azdel is by no means the single determining factor when selecting an rv.

    • @NationalRVTrainingAcademy
      @NationalRVTrainingAcademy  2 года назад

      It's a selling point for sure. But yes there are many other factors to consider. we will be doing a manufacturing plant tour later as well as talking about the different Alliance RV lines and their benefits. But doing your research and finding what's right for the end user is key.

  • @JeffInDFW

    80 pounds per square inch of pressure pushing down as it rolls past, or 146 TONS of pressure for 16 minutes from Rockwood, Jayco, East to West and everyone else who uses vacuum lamination for their walls etc? Did I hear that right? And they are still using Luan in the floor? They do a lot of things right, but not my choice in those areas....

    Thanks for such an informative video! When did you start using Azdel in the interior and exterior of the walls?

    • @NationalRVTrainingAcademy
      @NationalRVTrainingAcademy  2 года назад +1

      I believe that Alliance RV has been using Azdel since they started making RV's. Their Valor and Paradigm series I believe has mostly had Azdel on the inside and outside of their walls. their Avenue series still uses luan on the inside of that series.

    Would there be any benefits to using the blue dow foam in the walls? I know it resists water better than the white and is extremely strong.

    • @NationalRVTrainingAcademy
      @NationalRVTrainingAcademy  2 года назад +1

      It may. The azdel is a fantastic shedder of water. moisture just runs off of it.

    • @darinhawk3301
      @darinhawk3301 2 года назад

      I know NUWA Industries used the blue Dow foam in HitchHiker 5th wheels for years. It was very strong and resisted moisture very well over years.

    Interesting to see this process. But they are still using wood in structural areas. They are ‘stuffing’ the aluminum tubing with wood for certain frame supports for screw retention (3:50). I am concerned about long term rot issues there.
    I am still skeptical of the flooring with foam. I still have vivid memories of the spongy bouncy floors of other foam composite floors where the foam compresses and the floors get all ‘squishy’ after heavyweight people have walked on them for a while.

    • @NationalRVTrainingAcademy
      @NationalRVTrainingAcademy  2 года назад

      Consider that traditional RV's are made entirely of wood on their walls. we walked on a number of units with azdel floors and it was surprising. the long term effects are still being found out now. At least they are trying to do something different. and it's promising.

    • @jwiereng
      @jwiereng 4 месяца назад

      Yep Wood inside a tube seems like it will rot. When it rots it will not retain screws. I with they use huck bolt type of fasteners on the hollow tubes

    Did I miss something, thought they were not using luan or are they using luan betweeb the azdel? If you have a leak between the outer azdel then?

    • @NationalRVTrainingAcademy
      @NationalRVTrainingAcademy  2 года назад

      They are using Azdel on all exterior surfaces, interior walls are azdel, some floors are made of luan, they mentioned that they are working on phasing luan out completely from their process.

    • @moose-hv5ir
      @moose-hv5ir 2 года назад

      As of right now only the avenue floors are being built with Luan. But they are taking the right steps to slowly get away from luan completely. All sidewalls are completely Azdel

      great question. But beyond Azdel, how about the coolant in the ACs or the hydrogen in the fridges.

      I think some of the smaller travel trailer lines have been using it. But I don't think we've seen it in an entire company. It's promising for the industry.
