On one hand I'm pretty bummed they nerfed the M3s, but on the other hand I'm really happy the Banshee finally went down. 8.0 - 8.3 were absurd BRs for this thing, but I'm glad it went down to a good matchmaker.
I got an insane game in this thing a few months ago. In the middle of a turn fight against a MiG-15, I stalled at the top of a vertical loop, popped flaps, pilot sniped a Lightning diving on me at supersonic, then dropped back down on the MiG and blew it apart before winning a once circle with a Sabre.

The banshee was my first jet back in like 2014. It had just been up tired after seal clubbing props and was put into the hunter, saber, mig 15 matchmaking. Even though I was outperformed so much I managed to get a 1.8 k/d as my first jet. I wish people could relive the early jet era but they ruined 9.0 with power creep and even into the early 7.7-8.7 jets.
I have a friend who is relatively new to playing War Thunder and he recently got the MiG-15 on the German tree, and I have every plane researched on the American tree and I want to go and play with him down at that BR while he attempts to research his way towards top tier, but it is just so sad how the matchmaking is. If I play any American jet at that BR, literally every enemy jet basically can do circles around me. I can still do well, but it requires so much effort to overcome the massive disadvantages of the matchmaking at that BR.

My grandfather flew this in Korea and there were almost no opportunities to get air kills in it. Of his 14 kills over 35 years and three conflicts, it was the only plane he got no kills in it as they were ground attacking with it.

(I don't play air) I occupied something like 3 Su-11s and a 1 F89B with a Me 163 until my fuel ran out but it won us the match because they refused to switch to something they could catch. Also got like 4 matches in a row yesterday with the F104C that we full down tiers and I find it incredible that MiG-15 can fight an F104.

4 20mm hit the engine of su-11: hit 2 .50 cals hit my fuselage, on fire, no tail, engine died, pilot knocked out so hard his mom is already arranging funeral.
Ironically one of my favorite low-tier Jets and been able to get a lot of kills with it... those 20 mils don't fuk around And frankly I love the design looks kind of like something out of Star Wars with the fuel pods that almost make an illusion of wings being slightly reversed curved
I created a custom loadout that removes the fuel tanks to get better maneuverability, i have have very good games playing it as an interceptor/support!
What do you guys mean.. cannon belts nerfed to hell ? I used to hate flying American tree because .50 cals just suck in any other role than ground SPAA mount. I've got vastly more kills sniping pilots from a tank than air kills. Then I randomly got a talisman on the F7F-1 and lo and behold, the 4 x 20mm cannons seem to kill everything very nicely, just lightly touch them with a burst and it disintegrates. Playing air realistic is actually fun, everyone seems to love doing head ons for some reason.
i stopped playing this game for a long time and when i came back, i noticed that incendiary ammo are doing a lot of damage. Even tracer belts on the hurricane, which are incendiary tracer and armorp iercing incendiary, are setting planes on fire very easily
Yeah the 7mm tracer belts are really good right now. Almost as good as universal on early war .50 cals. But of course late war .50cal tracers are the king of incendiary

You can bind tank dropping, I find it helps a lot with mobility. Just go into controls and search for drop tanks and bind it to something and greater mobility !!
This thing is now almost back to being as seal clubby as it was originally when it was released at 6.7, its too fast for props and the early jets, its too slow and lacks missiles to fight Korean war era aircraft, so either it sits too low and clubs or it sits too high and gets clubbed, classic BR compression issues.
Face a lot of F2H-2's in my M.D.450B, its a comparable fight in my eyes. Certainly out climbs you but I've always felt that I can usually out turn an F2H-2. Thankfully it seems like a lot of people play the F2H nowadays, they usually aren't the smartest/experienced players.
I’ve played about 10 games in this jet and still have 0 kills. Every time I’m in a dogfight I black out almost instantly. My g tolerance is all the way up on the crew. My guns don’t work and I get out turned by everything I go against. The only chance I have is running away because if I turn slightly I black out. Worst jet I’ve ever played in. Happy I finally got the F9F because any more of this thing and I would’ve uninstalled
Probably just has to do with skill or overturning. Ive played early and late jets and i see ALOT of players overturning and end up crashing to the point where in some fights i dont even have to fire any weapons, i would win by them crashing. On the other hand we have unskilled players in good jets. If you want to p2w, play AC7 because if your p2w to jets in this game, you will be crushed. And not just p2w players, there are people who havve grinded to jets and have yet to master skill.

I always had the thought "why would anyone fly these, they're just not that great." A few months ago when gaijin moved them to 8.3 I could not believe my eyes. Like, these are some of the most painfully mediocre planes at tier 5 and you're moving them UP in br? Thankfully, they showed some mercy and moved them down.
I had around 600 games in the F2H before it was moved up to 8.3. I played it pretty much all the time, every day. So I think I am partly to blame for its increase in BR. Even had a few fun games at 8.3 with it, but I ultimately stopped once the guns were nerfed

They are absolutely awesome and helpful:) Only question I have, I theoretical understand what you are doing in your guides/videos (Energy Management and stuff) and how turning this way or doing this bleeds your enemys energy. BUT when I am playing I have absolutely no clue anymore about what you said (exaggerated) - how do I implement what I learned in your videos? Like I try to do things like you do, but f.e. I pull up to hard, turn the wrong direction into the enemy guns instead of out of them. Stuff like that.

50 cals are very strong especially on p51s and p47s. Use tracers, they set everything on fire and have long range
No worries about RUclips your exams are more important also appreciate for even uploading during your exams

ground belts are best for the set of cannons that the banshee has. it shares those cannons with the f4u-4b, f9f series, f7f, f8f-1b, and f3d

America gets smashed so hard at 7.0-8.0 it's still a struggle to fly any plane around there.

I wanted to say and ask something, I just discovered you and your nice guides. They are absolutely awesome and helpful:)
Only question I have, I theoretical understand what you are doing in your guides/videos (Energy Management and stuff) and how turning this way or doing this bleeds your enemys energy.
BUT when I am playing I have absolutely no clue anymore about what you said (exaggerated) - how do I implement what I learned in your videos?
Like I try to do things like you do, but f.e. I pull up to hard, turn the wrong direction into the enemy guns instead of out of them. Stuff like that.
I dont know of they fixed it or not, but bf 109 with air belt can destroy med tanks with one shot

Does this thing have a radar? I’ve seen a clip where some used a radar to guide their shots in this thing. Can the radar do that? (I know it has a radar)

8.0 was very bad in the current state of things for this thing. but theres a reason it got there. There was a time when the banshee was an absolute menace
So right now is it recommended to use Ground Target belt for both M3 and T31(AM-1 and A2D)?
The 262 nowdays is just such a sad plane to fly. They now only serve as free kills for everything at their own BR. And with the Su-11 and F-89 bullshit, I just have abolutly no desire to fly them out anymore.
