Its genuinely laughable how busted this plane is. I'm roughly 1:1 in most planes that I play, yet this one I'm almost 3:1 in, a kdr that I dont have in any other jet (a few low br props I do but thats cheating)
Very Important part of the plane: You can split fire the cannons to effectively double your ammo for no noticeable impact to firepower. There is literally no reason to not do this. (Just bind weapon select stuff)
There is a reason to play the F8E over the U though. The F8E is rank 7 so you can grind top tier with it. And also 10.7 gets a lot of downtiers or just 11.0 max as 11.3 is shafted into 12.3 games non-stop.
IDK, I face MIG-23's somewhat often on this thing. It's not exactly ideal as they pretty much deny the Low Earth Orbit where AIM-9C's can only be used. And fighting 11.3 - 11.7 with 4 caged missiles only isn't exactly ideal either. Probably, skill issue on my part, though.
10.7 gets hella upteirs. But yeah, the rank is the only real benefit the F-8E has. But if you have the full tree unlocked and are just playing for fun, then there's no question on which is better

I struggled through the F8U when the wings were glass and before the BR changes, now everyone around me struggles, I won't mind when they inevitably uptier it, because I'd have made use of it enough. It turns better than the F-8E I think, but back then you had to walk the line between being better and ripping your wings. Anyway it's great for the F-14 event.
This plane flies like the 9.7 T-2. Use 8 unguided missile with a 600m "timer" and "flare" when the IR missile is about .5km out and it works fine. The T-2 has great maneuverability and a fantastic vulcan 20mm. It has 2 Aim-9p's and regularly hits 1.1 mach and is only out-run by 104's and mig-21 in a straight line. Dont turn fight more than a 1/2 turn and it's vertical is pretty great.
I'm still waiting on T-2 Early to come back, the only reason I didn't buy it the first time around is because 9.7 was so heavily saturated with planes that could easily be uptiered 1.0 or higher, now that 9.7 is well rid of those the T-2 is a little bit of a menace (if flown right).
The american tree is full of so many absolutely broken BR jets right now, and still no word of future changes to fix the 8.7-10.7 bracket. It's absolute cancer

I fly the mig-19S, when I see an F8U or Su-25K or A-10A, I just J out, I can't be facing kinetically undodgeable missiles that will ruin my game experience without me ruining their game first.
Mig 19S is nice in downtiers, I played it, at 8.3-9.7 bracket it's good as long as you don't mess up, above that you're cooked. I also managed to kill it very often with the F-86F-40, dying to an AIM-9B is a skill issue. Dying to the M3 .50 cals is a skill issue. But if I'm dying in the Mig 19S to an R-60, R-60MK or an AIM-9L, nah the Mig 19S is sh**
I had never really flown a Crusador before, but I decided to give it a shot after the br changes, and this thing is genuinely disgusting right now. Almost every one of my games are 9.3 downtiers, and you can imagine what 4 9Ds do at 9.3. The planes rudder is unwieldy to say the least, but when you get guns on target, they disintegrate anything and everything. Is ungodly the amount of aces I get when using this. If you have it lying around, play it, before they inevitably move it up.
I had one Match yesterday where my Team faced only the US, while US wasnt on our Team. Never had this before. But what did it mean? 75% of the Enemy Team was using the F8U-2. It was a seal Club Fest of course in a 10.3 Match. This Thing is fully OP in the current Matchmaker since 10,0s see like 90% downtiers to 9.3 or even 9.0 and most the Enemies it faces it does not only outperform but most of them dont have flares as well. The Only rly other good Plane at 10.0 currently is the Mirage IIIC you just have to stay away from the F8Us ^^

The AIM-9Cs on the F-8E are MUCH better when you reduce the radar scale to the narrower gimbal limit. Much easier to track people lower to the ground and score consistent hits higher up as well.

The F-8E in the French tech tree is a beast now. It's a 10.0 and has Matra 530's, which I think are better than Aim-9C's, and it gets the Magic 1, the best rear aspect IR missile in the game. The F-8E(FN) unfortunately lacks CM and can only carry 2 missiles.
This plane is such a load of shit, it honestly ruins the 10 BR bracket. They decompress the unfair vehicles and simultaneously fix the F8U wing rip and then just leave it at a BR where it is untouchable in downtiers and one of the best planes even in partial uptiers with a decent to good gun, nose authority, climb rate, top speed, energy retention and 4 good for its BR missiles.
The matchmaker at the 10.0-10.3 area is pretty friendly now too, as opposed to 11.0s getting constantly full uptiered into F-4S spam and whatnot. The A-5C has been my savior for this event grind.
I enjoyed learning the limits of planes and getting them to perform to the best of their abilities, but now it's impossible with these changes... oh well
AIM-9C´s are great for killing rockets going to moon. The ,,high altitude contrail gang" dont look so often underneath them and if so, they are rockin flares only 70% of the time. But it is usable only if you are underneath them and facing upwards, the radar is trash
My cousin and I got hammered and played this plane all night just after the patch. Between the two of us I think we died 12 times and got like 100 kills, each.
My favorite plane in rb has to be the f-100. But the second a f8u-2 sees you you might as well j out ther is pretty much nothing you can do unless they are not paying attention or make a mistake it is pretty much impossible to dodge a aim-9d the conditions have to be just right. And it’s all you see unless in a down tier. It shouldn’t be 10.0 my god they are annoying.
Just finished spading the Mirage 3C. This thing was the BANE of my existence. Faster and with full RWR and countermeasures and 4x 9Ds. True the Mirage is good with its 2 magics but at least it dosent get flares and chaff!
The crusader is the counter to the mirage and the mirage is the counter to the crusader in the current matchmaking. The crusader has to park on the 6 of the mirage to rip it apart with the aim9d. The mirage has to park on the 6 of the crusader to gun it down.
The mig23-BN is kind of an underated plane. Low BR, Pseudoflares, (s-24 rocket, and a singular gunpod.) Im not really that good and I get like 2 kills each game. I really encourage you to play it. It can be a powerful dogfighter if you closely manage the wing sweep.
I don't even want to watch this cause it makes me angry seeing this thing. Mig-19S grind for modules has been a lil rough (or maybe I'm worse than I thought in it idk🤣)

Only pissy pants losers refuse to play planes just because they don't have flares, and if you say you don't want to play it for any other reason you're a liar, aside from the lack of flares and the lack of an rwr it's the best F-8 ; better airframe, better missiles (it has way better wings, the only american F-8 with those wings isn't in the game), and the rest is exactly the same. It also doesn't have a functional IRST, but who's gonna do BVR at 10.0 ? BVR ain't fun anyways, and that thing's a gunfighter not a missile bus.
I only refrence the deck speed because it's the most practical. The technical top speed at ideal alts isn't reached in about 99% of circumstances so it's not rly useful imo

I took a leap of faith and played the French F8E after the br changes and it was actually kind of ok. I just played an interceptor role with one R530 and one R530E. The F8C is a scary opponent though now that it doesn't rip lmao

AIM-9C´s are great for killing rockets going to moon. The ,,high altitude contrail gang" dont look so often underneath them and if so, they are rockin flares only 70% of the time. But it is usable only if you are underneath them and facing upwards, the radar is trash

My favorite plane in rb has to be the f-100. But the second a f8u-2 sees you you might as well j out ther is pretty much nothing you can do unless they are not paying attention or make a mistake it is pretty much impossible to dodge a aim-9d the conditions have to be just right. And it’s all you see unless in a down tier. It shouldn’t be 10.0 my god they are annoying.
Just got the F-8 and it's a monster. Finally able to take a break from the annoying and not fun grind of that rank in the U.S tech tree.
Just finished spading the Mirage 3C. This thing was the BANE of my existence. Faster and with full RWR and countermeasures and 4x 9Ds. True the Mirage is good with its 2 magics but at least it dosent get flares and chaff!
The crusader is the counter to the mirage and the mirage is the counter to the crusader in the current matchmaking. The crusader has to park on the 6 of the mirage to rip it apart with the aim9d. The mirage has to park on the 6 of the crusader to gun it down.
The mirage is a lot faster. Crusader is barely mach 1 ar sea level
Finest snail balance combined with premium players = fun plane
The mig23-BN is kind of an underated plane. Low BR, Pseudoflares, (s-24 rocket, and a singular gunpod.) Im not really that good and I get like 2 kills each game. I really encourage you to play it. It can be a powerful dogfighter if you closely manage the wing sweep.
When you reach 9G with this plane, the wing is sure to break soon after.

I've been using this (and F-5E and Hunter F.58 not to get bored) to grind for the event.
Using airbrake to get rid of the compression makes it a menace. Around 700-900kmh is the best i believe

Yes. That little bit is called "mach 1.72" ; it doesn't go faster than mach 1 ig because you don't fly high enough (also Gaijin most likely made some mistakes about the F-8's exact characteristics at low altitude).
PS - if you don't play the F-8E (FN), you're a p*ssy. Only pissy pants losers refuse to play planes just because they don't have flares, and if you say you don't want to play it for any other reason you're a liar, aside from the lack of flares and the lack of an rwr it's the best F-8 ; better airframe, better missiles (it has way better wings, the only american F-8 with those wings isn't in the game), and the rest is exactly the same. It also doesn't have a functional IRST, but who's gonna do BVR at 10.0 ? BVR ain't fun anyways, and that thing's a gunfighter not a missile bus.
I only refrence the deck speed because it's the most practical. The technical top speed at ideal alts isn't reached in about 99% of circumstances so it's not rly useful imo
Can only go mach 1 my ass, thia thing fucking interpreted my f104 and gunned me down. I wasnt maneuvering at all and i was full wep because he had no aams left (up high around 7km or 10km up) Either this thing has superior performance at high alt or i was fighting a hacker.
I took a leap of faith and played the French F8E after the br changes and it was actually kind of ok. I just played an interceptor role with one R530 and one R530E. The F8C is a scary opponent though now that it doesn't rip lmao

Uptiered to 10.3. Still OP as fuck. It gives me triple kills for zero effort of "fly over mig-21s doing base bombing, pitch down and shoot missiles in a salvo. get 2-3 kills at match start".
All vers of the F8 used to rip wings cus of the boosters mod, unequip them and it was fine.

I simply cannot ignore the differences of br with the F4C and this thing. I love the F8U but because of the br changes I dont want to play it anymore because of how disgusting this is.
This plane is so good for grinding the F-14 event vehicle. I can easily get 6 kills if i use it right
This has quickly become one of the few planes that just counters my Swiss hunter completely

Got a K/D of almost 6.0 and in that thing and it’s still climbing…the F8U is clearly too powerful at its current BR.
However - it does still rip, Defyn! You just need to pull 10+G for like 6 seconds…and I‘m ashamed to admit I was greedy enough for kills to still rip it twice so far.

Dude I said this on a video of yours a while ago TRY THE SEA METEOR that used to rip like crazy, it's VERY HARD to pull the wings off now making it very strong.
