Hello Brother! I’m a hotshotter from Louisiana. Been in business for about 12 years now. Back in 2019 I went from one tons to a class 7 KW T440 single rear drive. Best move I’ve ever made. I’m pulling a 40’ MAXXD but am looking at a Diamond C SDX 216. I plan on going with the 40gvwr with 3” ball hitch. My truck has a 13’ flatbed on it that I don’t wanna remove. Any suggestions on getting the trailer level? I watched your video where you had your kingpin shortened. I’d appreciate any info you could give me. Thanks, Brad Mount Mounts Hotshot
If I were you I would take some measurements of you gooseneck ball height and how much clearance you need for the flatbed on your truck and then communicate with Diamond C to see what can be done to make the trailer ride level
Wanted to let you know what I found out. I talked to Diamond C and they agreed to raise the neck for an additional $2400 which would make the trailer around $60k. I found a guy south of Atlanta that will do custom builds. I sent him the same specs I sent Diamond C and he’s building me a 50’ step deck gooseneck with 22,500 pound air brake axles for $20k less. Thanks for your help.
@@banksshippingllc6312 not even vertically? And use some bungies or a strap of some kind? Just have see guys do that so that's why I suggested it. But you could also make a box of some kind to bolt in there to put your straps n there' so your tarps could go into the tool box. Be a shame if it ends up being "lost space"
Top deck? That’s called the “Dance Floor” brother! With all the $$ you’re going to be making, you need to hang a disco ball over it. :-D. Congratulations sir. That’s an amazing setup.
Good luck to your trucking future, a real great looking rig. Your living a dream of mine, which i always wanted to own my own truck. Get a 3 door headache rack for chains and binders. I used to have one on my Freightshaker and loved it...I put my tarps in it too. I started off with a single door rack with the hangers on each side of the door but I had a chain bounce out one time and went under my drives ripping the hanger off the rack and denting my quarter fender. They are a little spendy but worth it...and they are a truckers favorite color..."shiny"
I have a question for you what would you charge to transport 2- 20 foot shipping containers combine grocery Weight around 24K from New Jersey to California 2905 miles appreciate any feedback.
Put a converter on the trailer that allows you to use the round semi plug and changed the trailer plug to a semi round pin. I have a video somewhere that I explain what I did
Now that you have been working this setup what are your thoughts 💭?? Is it much better working everyday that you Ram Setup or is it like most things, it has pros and cons???🤔
I am very happy with it but it is like everything else and had its pros and cons. For me and what I do the single axle is more cost effective than the dually even tho the insurance is higher and the fuel mileage is less than a pickup.
The trailer will b to much trailer for a one ton you will never be able to haul the full potential of this trailer. You would be maxed out at 20k and for the price it is dumb the drive axle in a one ton is not heavy enough to handle this
@@eri_gq1741 my semi is a Peterbilt and my pickup is a Dodge. You can definitely haul more weight safely with a single axle and I’ve seen them go from anywhere between $10k to $80k
Very nice. What does that trailer weigh and about how much does it cost? I’m wondering if it’s a better choice than a regular semi trailer since you went to the Pete.
The trailer weighs a little over 11k lbs and MSRP is about $29k will go up as you start adding options. Most of the semi step decks I looked at were heavier and cost more for the options I got on the trailer. I could haul heavier with a semi trailer but I don’t haul heavy. I can still put about 30k lbs on this trailer and be legal.
Hey man what’s the max payload of that trailer? 27-28k? What’s the trailer curve weight? I’m about to buy a freightliner sportchassis so I can’t stop driving a dually and be able to haul more weight safely, I already have a maxxd 40k gvwr witg hydraulic dovetail but man that trailer is heavy.
Just found your channel. I think it's pretty cool.
Dream hotshot
that is a rad setup! thanks for the detailed video!
Thank ya
I'm looking for a single axle semis with sleeper hard to find
Texas and Cali are where you find a lot of them
@@banksshippingllc6312 , okay thank you for getting back.
Great video. Thanks for sharing

Put your tarps under the step where you have your bungies.
My tarps won’t fit in there

I couldn’t imagine anything other than the skateboard/ step life other than maybe heavy haul in the future. I don’t ever see myself swinging doors
Umm take a shot everytime you hear him say "Uum".
That might be a bad idea
Hey man, How much does that trailer cost??
They are about $60k now I believe

Nice bro!! Keep trucking my guy!
That's one sweet looking setup you have. I like the way you think, keep it simple. Makes it easier to maintain and fix. Safe travels brother
I think I saw you rolling thru Oxford AL a few days ago
Not me. I stay in the northeast

I’d like one but because my wheelbase is so short I don’t have the room for it
Nice I see you kept the old dodge hotshot also.good luck and keep grinding man
Отличный прицеп!
Love The Total Upgrade!!! (Front 2 Back) 💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿💰💰💰🔥🔥🔥

I can’t go to California. Truck is too old
Congratulations and Blessings 🙏🏾
Man, looks great!
Is that a sliding spread axle 🤔
No it’s fixed but has a front lift axle
Very nice outfit!
Awesome work 👍
Nice. Where did you get the truck bro. Awesome setup
Thanks. I bought it in Kentucky
Why didn't you just get a normal class 8 dropdeck?
Truck had been shortened so the kingpin setting on a regular step deck wouldn’t allow me to turn without hitting the sleeper
@@banksshippingllc6312 that makes sense. That's a sharp looking trailer 👌

How do you honk up power connectors? Semi to trailer with the traditional connectors?

Thats money. Love the pete
Would this trailer be too much for 2021 ram 3500 desiel torbo with hO torque, 1075 ft dually?
There are plenty of 1 ton dually trucks pulling this trailer
The trailer will b to much trailer for a one ton you will never be able to haul the full potential of this trailer. You would be maxed out at 20k and for the price it is dumb the drive axle in a one ton is not heavy enough to handle this

Great video bro! Thank you!
Congratulations fella! Looks like 39K to me?
Congrats. I like it can't wait to see some videos with some freight on it
That's exactly what I'll be in the market for
Once you go air ride trailer you will never want a spring trailer I love mine so much easier on the tractor

Did you buy that from Trailer guys in Texas?
I bought it from American Trailer in PA
Nice trailer. How will it axle out on that small spread
Since they are only 16k axles I just treat them like a closed tandem. That seems to do the job
To go that far and not get air brakes.
I bought this trailer with the intention of pulling it with a pickup. The 359 was bought afterwards.
@@banksshippingllc6312 nice upgrade
Electric over hydraulic brakes are actually pretty strong. You can really feel them slowing the truck down compared to regular electric brakes.
Is there no room for a spare on the step deck?
I’m assuming you’re talking about spare tire. There is one mounted under the trailer
@@banksshippingllc6312 yessir, I just noticed all the videos I’ve watched, no one spoke of the spare tire location for the step deck. Thanks

If loaded correctly I could get about 30k on there. It is a 40k trailer and empty it weighs around 12-13k
Sweet setup! Did DC not offer air brakes on that trailer?
I kept electric over hydraulic because if I was to ever get another pickup it could be pulled be either
How can I get in contact with you?

What's max load amount ?
About 30k
