I respect you not taking about numbers. As a transporter I see it all the time and understand why you don't. Money is not the single most important factor.
Boom 💥 yes sir preach it. Seen so many get them false $ in there eyes and then find out it’s not for them. I was a diesel mechanic. Then one day at work I was like I don’t want this 9-5 anymore. So I started driving and now we have good people working with us as owner ops another fixing to start and it’s like a family business now. It’s great 😀. So thanks for the videos appreciate you. And God bless
What you just explained is called "mind YOUR business". Your business model can't be run via the expectations of other people's expectations or assumptions. At the end of the day you and only you are accountable for gains and losses. I have two 48 foot stepdecks but in my model, a 53 literally won't fit right now. The places I wiggle into are barely enough for 48.
Great answer. Question, where did you find your single axle semi? Word of mouth, you knew the previous owner or found it on a certain site like truckpaper?
Question: do the brokers ask if your 53’ stepdeck is a hotshot before you book a load? In general are the stepdeck loads listed with two prices, i.e., one lower for hotshot setup and one for semis? Thank you in advance
I would just say I had a 53’ stepdeck and they never asked anything after that. I never saw a difference in rate but if they are asking for a 53’ step it should be full truckload rates
@@banksshippingllc6312 Thank you for the response. If I had my way, I would purchase an electric over hydraulic and add an air to hydraulic actuator so I can keep disc brakes on the trailer. This would allow me to use the trailer with a Semi or a hotshot. Moreover I am thinking of adding air brakes to my Ram 3500 as a novel project - “yes it can be done” kind of a project
@@banksshippingllc6312 yes I saw your other videos and I like your setup. My application is sort of reverse of your application. Only difference is that I want air brakes to send signal to electric over hydraulic disk instead of drum. Though drum brakes work pretty well on a trailer or semi. I haven’t done to cost of ownership, probably about the same
I have a class a CDL I have over 30 years of driving started out in 88 driving a 10 wheeler pulling a utility trailer I have 15,000 in savings and then is growing monthly what advice would you have for me I would really like a set up like what you have I want a Peterbilt not a ram a Ford or a Chevy I want a Peterbilt They are built tougher and will last longer
@@eri_gq1741 based on my setup it still depends on the area you run in. If it’s a good area and you get some good direct customers you can definitely gross that or get close. Like all things it may not be everyday that you gross that but you hustle while the gettin is good.
Like a manufacture guy I watched recently, if ya runnin 80% of your setup 80% of the time, it may be time to start thinking about a few things. Just sayin’
Good overall advise but unless you add numbers to show your pros vs cons of each trailer, then most people (including me) will just call bs and not give your advise any weight for the general viewer. This video was a very “cover my ass” generalization, that while factually correct, isnt really why people click, subscribe, and watch these types of videos. Of course your targeting a specific viewer but your ‘rant’ is meaningless.
If you watch any of my other videos I say that I will not discuss specific number. Reason #1 is because my company revenue isn’t anyone else’s business, reason #2 is because of all the RUclipsrs that boast about how much they make there is an abundance of people getting into the business that have no idea what they are doing. I will not contribute to that and encourage people to do their own research on possible revenue. I have almost doubled my monthly revenue, but that is because I had customers that could utilize the extra deck space therefore giving me more loads. Also, because of the additional deck space and added weight capacity I dead head a lot less. Now with that information, people can look to see if something like this fits into their business structure. If they have customers that can utilize the extra deck space it may be something to think about, if not then they may not want to do it. I don’t want anyone going out and buying a 53’ stepdeck because they heard how much money I make. Thanks for the constructive criticism though.
@@banksshippingllc6312 naturally your business revenue is not anyone’s business; we can agree on that but are are also making money off the RUclips thing and asking people to like, subscribe, etc. you are the one posting videos titled “Revenue with a….” If you’re not going to say, then what’s the point. Now to my original point…. Eventually You said you have almost doubled your revenue by going to a bigger setup. That’s info people can use without getting into specific numbers. This is why we click on catchy titles, otherwise it’s just clickbait. Odd that what you want to put out? I dont think so. I also agree that people who have no idea what they are doing are driving huge amounts of weight, usually improperly prepared. They are also the ones with bad business models that will fail quickly. Since you go so in-depth about doing your research, you should not feel bad about giving info on videos you choose to publish.
@@talonpilot well I never meant it to be a clickbait title. Even though I don’t give specific numbers I do talk about the change in my revenue. One thing I set out to do when I started this channel was to give a no bs channel about what I do and to set myself apart from the others I decided not to talk about money because so many other people do and they don’t give the whole picture so I figured why not take money out of it. To be honest with you I make these videos to motivate everyone and to help people in/ trying to start in the trucking industry. I make very little if any money off of RUclips so don’t think I’m doing it just for the money
You Sir are 1 in a million!! Thank you for being 100% true!!😎🍩🤙🏻
I wish I came across your channel before I bought my trailer!!

Words of wisdom brotha words of wisdom.
Do you find that you take more loads that are 48ft and under on that 53ft step?
You earned a new subscriber with this video 🤝💪 Appreciate the content

I found it on Facebook. There are some groups for single axles for sale. I was going to buy one I found on TruckPaper but it didn’t work out.
Fat fingered my spelling was asking about truck year.
Amen to that brotha!!

Great 👍 information buddy. Truck looks awesome. How much can you scale with your setup?
I sure you have talked about the year of your truck . can you truck about the truck again year engine and trans. Thanks enjoy watching.

I’d save a little more so that you can pay cash for either the truck or trailer and keep that 15k in the bank for a rainy day fund
Trying to start my business but man trying to find the funding for a truck is hard.
Yes it is. Keep grinding towards that goal though and eventually you’ll get there as long as you don’t give up
Sup hoss man, can you average $1000 a day hauling local or reginal loads?
Boss man**
Well, I should be specific based on your setup..
