y'know hearing the Cad/Fjord interactions in these songs again really made me think about the huge impact a couple of dice rolls in this game can have. I mean pen&paper as a medium is fascinating in that regard, if the stroke of bad luck/circumstance didn't kill off Molly then Caduceus would have never come into this group, Fjord would never engaged with the wildmother and might have become an entirely different character, perhaps turning into a fighter rather than a paladin, or a feylock of the traveler, or just returning to Okatoa. I mean all the characters on the show are interesting in their ways but I feel like their stories could more easily been just written to happen, Fjord exemplifies how the dice change the way stories are told in this medium. Great mix btw, really excited for what you're working on next.
There's also the chance that the Wildmother wouldn't have intefered if the last name "Stone" wasn't that important to Caduceus' backstory. She might have had no interest in someone with little to no connection to her. Just another factor to the huge coincidence.
it's like life man, luck ia such a big factor in many things it's crazzy to think about it. I would't have met my bf he had not comented "lol" on a post in some drawing I made 6 years ago. such a stupid thing
@@autumnorange613 honestly that was the moment where Fjord was really embodying what it meant to be a warlock- he may of been ending the pact but it was that deepened awareness of that power dynamic that was just amazing and sooo warlock. "You need me more than I need you" is a really amazing aspect of the warlock class that is awesome to see roleplayed- realising that the being that gave you power gave it for a reason, because it needs someone to do tasks/accomplish goals that it cant. Realising that and flipping the power dynamic? Shivers, Fjord killed that one.
"Are you there Wildmother? It's me, Fjord" killed me, it was such a powerful moment ingame. "...and their prayer will be answered because you'll show up" I love this mix so much
Fjord isn't the funniest member of the Mighty Nein, or the wisest, or the smartest, or the strongest, or even the best acted. But, despite all this, he will always be my favorite member of the m9.
It's that development as a character for me. He personifies change. It's really incredible. Fjord is my dude. From wanting power and not understanding where it comes from, to learning how to balance the power. I play a paladin myself, and as I RP, I try to make my paladin understand how to use his power. And not let it overwhelm him or overtake him. Fjord resonates with me so hardcore
I mean, he's pretty much the main straight man in the group, so he's not going to be the most anything, as he represents that part of us that says "wait... that's not normal!"
Fjord isn't even your typical Half-Orc. He's the runt of the litter, the butt of jokes. But his story is great, and so is he. When I first started watching I thought Fjord was just that, the butt end of some jokes. Until the heist, and he threatens Caleb for trying to take a scroll. He, Caleb, and Nott have a small stand-off, and he asks the question, "You're either with us, or you're on your own." He's sort of like a glue that keeps people together. A silent support. But he comes through when he really needs to. When he lost his powers, he wrestled a Remorhaz without any backup or magical gifts. And then once he was, Refjorged, and became a Paladin of the Wildmother. The Laughing Hand scene was amazing. As down in the comments of that episode, someone quoted Caduceus about someone, someday, somewhere, praying for a miracle.
In a way he's (at least one of) the most "protagonist" of the Nein yet with both the Empire Kids as runner-ups. He really made the change from being reactive to proactive. He used to just be thrust into situations, Avantika taught him what that might lead to, he tried to avoid his fate, but was only able to shrug his curse by taking a real stand and making a decision for himself. If this campaign was a novel, his proactiveness / his faith still needed testing, but he would be the most likely POV character. All characters have a development, but Fjord's is the one that would make the best story. That's no insult to the others. RPG is a very different medium to storytelling to an audience in that every character has a player that also has their experiences and offers a perspective for viewers. Nott for instance is interesting to play, but as a protagonist in a novel, she would be rather dull, her goal is basically to change her outward appearance (I know, but the post is long enough as it is). Caduceus, despite his claims, basically has it all figured out, he's a mentor figure, not a protagonist, and so on. Yasha and Jester on the other hand aren't there yet, they might still get to this point of change.
I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you on the acting part. Travis is probably only rivaled by Sam in his ability to think clearly and play his low wisdom character when he's a very wise person
I've listened to Fathoms so many times, it was such a beautiful mix that I used for so many different things. I truly can't wait to give Refjorged the same treatment
I bet if we could visualize the Strange Dreams series, it would be like that picture of how the Harry Potter movies get progressively more dark. Ooo they give me chills, I love it! 😅
I'm blown away. Each song is so vivid and makes me feel like I'm playing CR as a game, there is so much atmosphere to each plot point and character. "Strange Dreams IV. Wander" hits the ground running, and I'm particularly fond of 'This Blood' where we hear from the half-orc in Rosohna that gave some desperate insight into Fjord's self-worth. Also "Those Things Happen" hit me like a sack of bricks, and I feel betrayed all over again from that arc. I think you really brought out Fjord's perspective with this song and the emotional weight he had from watching Yasha side against them, then questioning her motives. The other characters were more shocked in that moment, but Fjord had this eerily still mind where he went to a bitter place and that comes through in this piece. "With A Little Help From My Friends" is the next one that stands out for me because it's basically the theme of the campaign. How the rest of the party accepted him when he considered himself useless without powers, and admitted he was lying to them this whole time...the acceptance they give him is a spark that gives him hope in himself. Which leads into "Are You There Wildmother? It's Me, Fjord" and that god-tier Caduceus quote. And last but not least, I admit I teared up listening to "Serene Dreams III. Metamorphosis" once the happier version of the motif that started with "Strange Dreams I" on the previous album started playing. The mystery and darkness that is a part of Fjord is still there, but it's better, it's changing, it's healing. I just...I love character growth. And these albums have a lot of love put into them too. Great work!
yeah I got similar feelings! Like I was watching a movie all about Fjord. The choices he used for the audio clips were absolutely perfect. My heart is so warm and I can absolutely feel the love he put into this mix.
I think the Whroj part and the Yasha like u said are heavily underrated, fjord is constructed in those little moment so much, just like the big ones, Im always coming back to this album, but specially to this blood, the "You walk like u got something to prove?" its so GODamn right for fjord, the harsh and playing it cool "What do u need", the "She turned on us" Fjord has so much more character in those moments.
"IT'S DONE. IT'S FUCKING DONE!!" thank you! listening to this provided me with some great writing / editing motivation on my current project. Much love🙏
Wow. Four years ago. I started re-watching campaign two (can't seem to get into campaign three), and it made me recall this wonderful album. It's as beautiful as I recall, but it certainly makes you realize how much time has passed.
I was just vibing and then 'These Things Happen' got me like a kick to the chest. I love the muffled, singsong voice that weaves into the rest of the melody. After a few songs where the music politely paused for each voice clip, this method was effective in creating a hazy, post-trauma shock that Fjord must have been feeling after Yasha's betrayal.
The part that I just got chills at is at 46:16 when you hear Matt say "You feel to the right of you", and I heard it in my right headphone. That level of attention to even the smallest line, is just incredible! I really cannot express in words how cool this project is, the critter community always amazes me!
Hey, Orange. I don't know if you'll see this, but I hope you do. We hear from our favorite channels, a lot, about how people come up to them to tell them that their content has helped them and even saved their lives, right? And about how they say that this kind of response gives purpose to their work. Well, I've been going through some of the darkest times of my life, while learning to live with myself. I have been having an awful time facing the dark parts of myself. I have com to understand that I have been toxic to myself, and have been losing my essence for years. And it's a dark place to be. Thank you for sharing; words cannot express how grateful and humbling it is to hear one's work has had any positive effect on anyone, and to read what you've said here is just, well, it means the world that you listen and I can't thank you enough. I'm glad you took something from it. 🧡 The world is brighter for having you, keep fighting the good fight and bettering yourself by your hopes and standards, no one else's. Much love- Orange.
After Fathoms, I couldn't wait to see what you had in store, and by the Buttons of Nott, you've managed to not only out do yourself, but make something that was musically engaging, thematically cohesive, visually pleasing to the eye, and more than anything, flowing like a river through my ears. Well done. I look forward to see what you do next.
CR spoilers!!!!! Ep 98 * * * * * * * Dang, I listened to this just before the insanity that was the battle in episode 98. Fjord, my dude,,,, I knew it would come back to bite him ;_;
Congratulations on once again creating a beautiful album. You expertly trace Fjord’s arc, and your music frames the cast’s words bringing them new meaning and intensity. Thanks for all your hard work. It’s brought me a lot of joy. ...and you also managed to make Uk'otoa way more frightening. Yikes.
the detail in jester making her snow angels!! gosh i get so excited whenever you upload, sincerely thank you for what you do i truly enjoy your creations with all my heart, they get me moving in the mornings, help me settle down before bed, help me stay focused while i’m working on school assignments, i’m so grateful for what you do! 💕
THIS IS SO COOL. The animation is a great addition too. Fjord looks so oddly tranquil. And all the lines chosen for the songs hit hard when you think abut Fjord's character.
Around 1:05:00 when Fjord is talking with the Wild Mother and Cad interjects... I had this playing in the background, just to keep my mind busy over this night shift... and I started to cry. That moment... with this playing in the back as ambient noise... broke me. Words I didnt think would effect me, a conversation I had no part of... but there it was. Gods be damned... what a powerful mix you made.
Just want to let you know. I love your work. I put this on in the background when I'm writing and some of my best writing sessions have come from listening to your work. I haven't listened to this all the way through but I know I'll enjoy it
The absolute care and love that went into this is remarkable. I have been looking forward to this part two of fjord's lo-fi mix for so long and it has absolutely been worth the wait. This is an incredible combination of beautiful music and beautiful art to go along with it and all of the time and effort you put in to making it truly shows. Fantastic work and I'll always look forward to seeing more from you. You've really outdone yourself this time and this will definitely be a video that I will listen to over and over again. Amazing!
I was just about to go to sleep so I’ll listen to all of this later but I just wanted to say I can already tell you put so much effort and hard work into this! I’m very excited to listen to this when I get the chance!
"Are you there Wildmother? It's me, Fjord" made me cry, it's so beautiful and such a good representation of the relationship between Caduceus and fjord and his struggle with faith. I love it. Thank you for this wonderful piece
I will always love "Serene Dreams I. Mother". It is so calming and "serene". It is actually the song I tend to listen to on hard nights, then I cannot sleep... It really encapsulates the warmth and welcoming feeling of the wild mother and the feeling of having a good night rest.
i think that has to be the most legit mix of beats ive ever heard. i know some very basic stuff from CR and havent finished one campaign yet (idc about spoilers from this) and the storytelling from this mixtape is so insane. love your work seriously insane.
Definitely love You Need Me (More Than I Need You). It’s such an intense bop that just keeps rolling. You really captured the sheer emotion and the drama of that particular scene.
I love that “Message to Vandran” sounds a bit like “I don’t know where you are or if you’re even alive, but I’d like to see you again someday” from Fathoms. Job well done 👏🏻
I've never clicked on a notification so FAST! I'll listen to it tomorrow while I go to school. Now I'm excited to wake up early tomorrow!! Lol. Thanks for your great work!
Strange Dreams IV. Wander may be my favorit song of you as of yet. How it uses melodies from previous songs in the album and ties it all together is absolutely beautiful. And that Guitar!!
I cannot think of any better genre or song to more perfectly accompany the dream of the Wildmother asking Fjord to embace her. Amazing, beautiful, spectacular. Jester is adorable. I love it!
I'm in seminary right now, and the conversations between Caduceus and Fjord that you use in "Are you there Wildmother" is some of the most theologically powerful stuff I've heard in a while
This is so fucking good.... It shows Fjord's journey and the fear or reassurance through the music and the dream sequences were really amazing to listen to with Matt's voice, and it made me really appreciate Caduceus's role in helping Fjord and at the end hearing Fjord make jokes and everyone laughing just melted my heart, I listened to this because I just couldn't fall asleep and it made me feel really relaxed and listening to this was just a generally great experience hehe ❤️❤️
Finding this channel is an absolute blessing i swear- critical role AND lofi? Had never really exploreed lofi except for the few times i tuned into chilledcows radio, but for instance all of the strange dreams songs give me CHILLS. I listen to this daily now. Thank you.
An absolutely wonderful album and everything the sequel of Fathoms should be. Especially loved the re-use of samples and melody lines from the previous album. Amazing work
Im absolutely in love with these CR inspired music. There's something about "you need me (more than I need you)" that I love, but I don't know how describe why it resonates so much. I got chills the first time I listened to it.
So I've only just recently found the musical critters and after binging c1and c2 I find myself craving content in-between episodes and have done nothing but search youtube for wonderful artists like you and I am infinitely grateful for the work you do for the enjoyment of others. Writing this I'm tearing up because of the joy I feel.😭😭😭😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😅😅😅😅
Oh man I am so excited! I adore Fathoms and listen to it all the time! As in, I've turned it on at least once a week since I first found it. Thanks so much for doing what you do!
@@autumnorange613 Just finished listening to the whole album. Loved it again! Also, must say I really loved the return of the strings from "I Don't Know Where You Are of If You're Even Alive, but I'd like to See You Again Someday" in "Message To Vandran"
This couldn't have come at a better time. So very well done. For context if you're from the future, please watch c2 ep.98. Again, just such a well done album Autumn.
Back once again, and damn does Track 10 absolutely shake a man to the core. That subtle voice you have que'd in over the piano? With Matt's narration? Pffft. Masterful.
As someone that is new to the Dungeons & Dragons community, and critrole. It is interesting listening to these tracks because I learn about the minor details that make these characters beloved by many that listen to, or watch this show when it is streamed and aired on youtube
@Cole The moldier Yes, yes i do now. I still don't know what to think, there could be a real chance that, next week, the events that transpired will be... permanent. I'm on the edge of hopeful and nervous
*SPOILERS* @Cole The moldier I do believe they have it, it just might not have come into the conversation at that time. I think they always have one at the ready, i remember them saying that at some point, but i don't know how many they have. This might really be Orly's last voyage, because if they have one, of course they're going to use it on Fjord.
I just noticed this has over a thousand upvotes and ZERO downvotes. I don't think I've ever seen any video on RUclips that was purely positively voted for, no matter how good.
Nothing but chill, beginning to end. What a laid-back, cohesive, and imaginative retelling of Fjord's redemption(? not the word i'm looking for but it's the word i have) arch. Always blown away by your work. Thanks for sharing
the transition like releasing long-held breath at 1:08:16 has held my heart in its hands on more than one occasion. I don't keep up with Critical Role anymore but I still listen to this song when I really need the feeling of relief and safety that it holds.
I particularly love Star Razor for the "by the might of the Allhammer, it's fucking done!" it's great lol! This mix is so amazing!! Just saved all of your mixes on Spotify, I love them all :D
i can not even explain how good it is i never was a fan of LoFi music but because of CR i gave it a try And i have been istening it non stop for a two days now while working on my hell like job and it is drugging me through very well bless you great job
I just realized Jesters in the background making all her snow angels haha.

So, let me get this straight, Fjord is a paladin, because Laura got pregnant...
And he was only ever a warlock in the first place because of how Laura was creating her character.
"Strange Dreams VI. Arbor Exemplar"
and then right after
"Serene Dreams I. Mother"
Don't do this to me... I was already crying D':

Dang, I listened to this just before the insanity that was the battle in episode 98. Fjord, my dude,,,, I knew it would come back to bite him ;_;
Congratulations on once again creating a beautiful album. You expertly trace Fjord’s arc, and your music frames the cast’s words bringing them new meaning and intensity. Thanks for all your hard work. It’s brought me a lot of joy.
...and you also managed to make Uk'otoa way more frightening. Yikes.
Thank you so much for listening! No better feeling than knowing your work brings others joy :)
My semi-regular comment to thank you for this music. Got tons of work done to it today! It makes my brain focus so much better than anything else. ❤
"We Can Remake Ourselves" hits me so hard every time, great work as always!!!
the detail in jester making her snow angels!! gosh i get so excited whenever you upload, sincerely thank you for what you do i truly enjoy your creations with all my heart, they get me moving in the mornings, help me settle down before bed, help me stay focused while i’m working on school assignments, i’m so grateful for what you do! 💕
Carry on friend! You got this, thanks for listening!

don't mind me just time stamping the one quote that still gives me chills after all this time
And that prayer will be answered because you'll be there, time stamping the best quotes.
@@autumnorange613 I KNOW and Taliesin's voice adds so much to it, that man could talk to me to sleep its so reassuring
Amazing!
Thank you so much
The picture of Fjord looking over Jester makes me think of Guts from Berserk
I was just about to go to sleep so I’ll listen to all of this later but I just wanted to say I can already tell you put so much effort and hard work into this! I’m very excited to listen to this when I get the chance!
"Are you there Wildmother? It's me, Fjord" made me cry, it's so beautiful and such a good representation of the relationship between Caduceus and fjord and his struggle with faith. I love it. Thank you for this wonderful piece
man matthew mercer lofi background narration is lit. nice mix!
"Until it does, rest."
me, for the 900th time; *sobbing*
I will always love "Serene Dreams I. Mother". It is so calming and "serene". It is actually the song I tend to listen to on hard nights, then I cannot sleep... It really encapsulates the warmth and welcoming feeling of the wild mother and the feeling of having a good night rest.
I'm 10 seconds in and I'm LIVING
That revivify came in clutch!
Gods Above and Below, I LOVE this! It keeps getting better every time I listen.
i think that has to be the most legit mix of beats ive ever heard. i know some very basic stuff from CR and havent finished one campaign yet (idc about spoilers from this) and the storytelling from this mixtape is so insane. love your work seriously insane.
Definitely love You Need Me (More Than I Need You). It’s such an intense bop that just keeps rolling. You really captured the sheer emotion and the drama of that particular scene.
Fjord has one of the fucking coolest arcs. These albums do an awesome job of abridging his epic journey and transition. Phenomenal job, Autumn~
That intermission/ long rest was wonderful I gotta add. Big checkpoint/ safe room vibes
This Album is so inspiring. It really is full of hope and I love it so much.
I love it!
I'm in seminary right now, and the conversations between Caduceus and Fjord that you use in "Are you there Wildmother" is some of the most theologically powerful stuff I've heard in a while
After Yasha's dream and moment at the waterfall last week, I think it may be time for one of these about her epic journey and quest for redemption.
Thank you.
Wow. Im blown away. I love it when I see other music-oriented Critters doing amazing music.
Just when I was looking for great music to study to, this gets uploaded!
track 12 got me. It's so beautiful yet slightly moody. I can just picture Fjord floating in the embrace of the Wild Mother transformation.
Thanks fellow Autumn!
thank you for making finals season a little more bearable :')
The amount of effort that goes into these is incredible and very appreciated. The music is heartbreaking and heartwarming and beautiful!
An absolutely wonderful album and everything the sequel of Fathoms should be. Especially loved the re-use of samples and melody lines from the previous album. Amazing work
We listen to your full albums in my home all day in the background, and this is my 3 year old's favorite.
Im absolutely in love with these CR inspired music. There's something about "you need me (more than I need you)" that I love, but I don't know how describe why it resonates so much. I got chills the first time I listened to it.
The first song goes well with the ending of the most recent episode
Indeed :,)
So I've only just recently found the musical critters and after binging c1and c2 I find myself craving content in-between episodes and have done nothing but search youtube for wonderful artists like you and I am infinitely grateful for the work you do for the enjoyment of others. Writing this I'm tearing up because of the joy I feel.😭😭😭😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😅😅😅😅
these are some absolutely Superior Vibes
This is easily one of the best critter fan made videos on RUclips.
These are SO cinematic and I adore every single one of these you put out
I love the CR content so much and I think you have a real talent for lofi. You should totally show it to the cast! Keep it up!
Oh man I am so excited! I adore Fathoms and listen to it all the time! As in, I've turned it on at least once a week since I first found it. Thanks so much for doing what you do!
Well we gotta get you something new to listen to!
@@autumnorange613 Just finished listening to the whole album. Loved it again! Also, must say I really loved the return of the strings from "I Don't Know Where You Are of If You're Even Alive, but I'd like to See You Again Someday" in "Message To Vandran"
Dalton Bradrick oh, good choice, that was brilliant
This couldn't have come at a better time. So very well done. For context if you're from the future, please watch c2 ep.98. Again, just such a well done album Autumn.
i am so happy that you transcribed fjords journey in song... at this point in my life its vary relatable.
It's very relatable, right?!
Back once again, and damn does Track 10 absolutely shake a man to the core. That subtle voice you have que'd in over the piano? With Matt's narration? Pffft. Masterful.
I got here from the official CR lo-fi, and I can say, I didn`t hear any lo-fi before hearing yours.
I love all the motifs that change and return from the last Fjord album
Oh man. This is making me appreciate Fjord's transformation more.
I feel less weight, and, at the same time, a bit less... valuable. This whole album is just.... thank you.
As someone that is new to the Dungeons & Dragons community, and critrole. It is interesting listening to these tracks because I learn about the minor details that make these characters beloved by many that listen to, or watch this show when it is streamed and aired on youtube
3:50 "Bad Dream Blues" is an absolute banger.
Just like Fjord
I can't tell if this is good or bad timing for this video given the events of ep 98...
At least we have something to comfort is until Thursday next.
Oh shit, i dunno what happened, i follow CR only on youtube, now i'm quite nervous
@Cole The moldier Yes, yes i do now.
I still don't know what to think, there could be a real chance that, next week, the events that transpired will be... permanent. I'm on the edge of hopeful and nervous
*SPOILERS*
@Cole The moldier I do believe they have it, it just might not have come into the conversation at that time. I think they always have one at the ready, i remember them saying that at some point, but i don't know how many they have. This might really be Orly's last voyage, because if they have one, of course they're going to use it on Fjord.
Cole The moldier I’m pretty sure they’ve got one, I vaguely remember them buying one a while back, pretty sure Orly is permagone now tho :(
I can’t get over how good this is
I love all of the Strange Dream tracks so fucking much.
This whole set is perfect.
I just noticed this has over a thousand upvotes and ZERO downvotes. I don't think I've ever seen any video on RUclips that was purely positively voted for, no matter how good.
I'm still not sure why, but this album made me cry multiple times. You did an incredible job, yet again. Thank you
You are most welcome, friend. Much love
Nothing but chill, beginning to end. What a laid-back, cohesive, and imaginative retelling of Fjord's redemption(? not the word i'm looking for but it's the word i have) arch. Always blown away by your work. Thanks for sharing
Hey Autumn, I'd just love to thank you because this mix really helps me with anxiety
I'm glad I have something like this to turn to
Most welcome, friend. Hang in there, we got this.
@@autumnorange613 we do. ❤️❤️
That 'to the right of you' line in Wrath gets me with chills every time. Fantastic work 👍😍
I love how Jester is in the background, making snow angels. :)
I was expecting a joke.
This fucking slaps dude.
the transition like releasing long-held breath at 1:08:16 has held my heart in its hands on more than one occasion. I don't keep up with Critical Role anymore but I still listen to this song when I really need the feeling of relief and safety that it holds.
I dont know how it took me this long to discover your channel... but your amazing
I particularly love Star Razor for the "by the might of the Allhammer, it's fucking done!" it's great lol! This mix is so amazing!! Just saved all of your mixes on Spotify, I love them all :D
Thanks!
i can not even explain how good it is
i never was a fan of LoFi music but because of CR i gave it a try
And i have been istening it non stop for a two days now while working on my hell like job and it is drugging me through very well
bless you great job
