Stan, as a single mom, I'd like to thank you for helping me diagnose and fix my leaky faucet (just needed cartridge replacement) without having to call in a plumber $ !!
Thank you so very much for this video! I am not a 'do-it-yourselfer' but by following your video this only took my 10 minutes from start to finish. God bless you for taking the time to upload. I'm sure this saved me $100's of dollars!
Maybe you save 100 of dollars but by not giving this 100 dollars to the plumber the plumber guy won't be able to spend the same 100 dollars at your (ex) Restaurant. Just saying this cause I just wonder at the end of the day if we all win in that situation ~ We became communist in a capitalist system, don't you think? Can we have both? Mmh!
Stan! Thank You for making these Part 1 & 2 Videos. I finally own my first home and am rather clueless on fixing plumbing even when the fix isn't too complex, like this one. Thanks for the education and savings. Based on the likes, you've helped thousands of people - Much Appreciated!
Thanks for making these two videos, I followed your directions exactly and it was a pretty easy success! The plumbing guy at Lowes suggested I replace the spring and seat at the same time and told me how to dig them out and upon inspection the old seat was worn away and torn at the top! Glad I listened to him! So, thanks again!
Very helpful video! I have fixed my leaky faucet myself. I did have trouble getting the cartridge out but I soaked it in vinegar and it came out easily then. Thanks!
2 am I am watching this video sitting in front of my dripping faucet during this pandemic. Ohh yes you just added some strength and confidence in the life of this mom. I just need to order the parts now. Thanks a million.
Great video! Two words of wisdom: 1. Make sure the notch is the correct one for cartridge you need, I thought they were universal. 2. Replace the seal & spring located below the cartridge. Great video, saved me some money & earned me Mr. Fix It, from Mrs. J.
I used this video to fix the leak in my bathroom. Took me about a half hour (including the trip to the hardware store), and 12 bucks. Thanks from Staten Island, NY. .
Great stuff! You did several steps that I would not have thought of (e.g. checking to see which "side" was causing the leak, turning off both cold and hot water.) Thanks!
Thank you for this - I'm married to a guy who's legally blind, so I'm glad to have someone show me these types of repairs. Will save the cost of a plumber!
Thank you Stan for this easy to follow video. My Moen kitchen cold water handle was not shutting off and you made my day by showing me how to fix it in an easy and inexpensive way. Blessings!
Saw the videos Part 1 & 2 and found both very helpful - thank you. Something to share on my experience, I found pulling the cartridge from my faucet very, very hard, almost not able to pop it out without exerting huge muscle power from my Son... others may have this same issue and think something is wrong.
Great tutorial! My cartridge was slightly different. My cartridge came set for hot but I needed it for the cold side. I just had to reset the cartridge for the cold side... Works perfectly now and no more drips! Much easier than I thought. Thanks so much!
Most RUclips videos have so much fluff and unnecessary filler material in the video, it can make it discouraging to watch. Unlike most, this is a great video, short, to the point, and clear. Thanks again!
PERFECT. Your video was the exact same faucet we have and I was able to go thru it perfectly. I didn't have enough strength to pull straight up on the cartridge and was afraid of mangling something. I tried everything from pliers, to a pipe wrench, to vice grips, to penetrating liquid, to a screwdriver and no luck. I finally had to call in my husband. He popped it right up (of course all my work got it started, right?). We didn't have to replace the cartridge as there was a little piece of what looked like PVC pipe stuck in that side opening. Hmm, wonder where THAT"S coming from...I have been getting teeny bits in the faucet filter and the shower head filter. I cleaned out the green corrosion on the inside copper pipe, realigned the cartridge and pushed it down, put everything back on, and slowly ran the water. There was a weird looking bubble in the flowing water so I checked the filter and cleaned it out again. Now everything is good to go. THANK YOU!!!!
Great Job! I actually just had to remove the stem, wipe things down and put it back together and the leak was fixed. I may have to replace the stem eventually- but not right now :-)
Awesome tutorial. Sure the dripping wastes lot of water but it is also so annoying to hear constant drip sound especially in the middle of the night when everything is quiet but the constant drip sounds. Easy to replace. My cartridge came with a spring and a rubber piece so I changed that too.
Hi, Stan! This is a great video and I'm thankful for your putting it together for those of us who are trying to learn to take care of the small things ourselves. I ran into the problem that I cannot for the life of me get the cartridge back in! I've tried everything and it's only me. I had to use pliers to put it out, replaced the spring and the rubber piece (cartridge seems fine). Any suggestions for a lady trying to fix it on her own?
Well done! You explained it all very clearly and why you do some things, that's so helpful. I feel more confident attempting this myself, wish me luck! Thank you for posting this video!
Thank you for this excellent and simple instructional video! It is a great feeling and savings$ to be able to fix this problem by myself -with your help!
Thanks! This helped me fix two leaky faucets. I also fixed a toilet but that wasn't directly because of this so much as I figured while I had the tools out... =-)
Thanks for the video I noticed that you did not replace the seats and springs that are normally underneath the cartridge is that because they don't all have them or what
Thank you for your videos I was able to fix the cold valve on my bathroom faucet for some reason I still have a drip on the left. I only replaced the O-rings because they’re really seem to be nothing wrong with the rest of it. I brought it into the hardware store so that they could look at it. If I didn’t put it back correctly could that be why I still have a drip on the hot water side? I really thought I did
Thank you for the video I've replaced the valve a couple times and it will only last about a week before it starts leaking again, any idea what might be happening
Thank you for this video. I've taken the old cartridge out. Also, the cartridge nut is broken. The faucet doesn't indicate what model it is. How can I find a compatible cartridge and nut?
Great video, but I feel I should mention that although replacing the cartridge worked for your problem, it isn't always the cure. It would have been nice if you mentioned the rubber seat and spring located below the cartridge in the quarter turn faucet setup that you have shown. After watching this I promptly bought a new cartridge ( almost 10 bucks) and replaced it only to see my dripping faucet continue to drip. I replaced the seat and spring, installed the old cartridge and my drip was cured. a difference of about 8 bucks.
I didn't feel like replacing the stem, so I realized I just need a tighter fit around it. So, I just wrapped a rubber band around the stem and screwed it all back together. No more dripping. (I only need a temporary fix.)
Is the hot water notorious for damaging cartridges, as mine is also dripping? (same maker). If not, would it be wise to change both cartridges at the same time? Awesome video sir!
Just my hot water side was leaking. Opened the cold side to see what parts I needed. Went and got them. A delta just like yours. Did everything in the video and now both sides are on immediately when I turn water back on. Is there a specific way the cartridge needs to align? I see that there's a hole inside the actual sink on the faucet side. There's a big hole on the side of the cartridge too. Do they align? Should I not align them? Thanks in advance.
I turned Both, cold and hot water off under the bathroom sink and it's still running. I know I need a new cartridge for the hot water side , but will it fix the running water problem altogether if I get a new cartridge?
So I did this step by step but my faucet is still leaking, even more now. Everything is tight. Is there supposed to be a spring between the cartridge and the seal below it?
Stan id like to ask if the issue persist after words what should my next step be? I have replaced both valves and have ran through the likes and can not figure it out. My only remaining hypothesis is that maybe there is some kind of build up in the faucet its self that it retaining the water.
Sometimes the valves beneath the sink need replacing. This most likely would require shutting off the main water supply to your house/apartment and perhaps being familiar with soldering.
Stan, as a single mom, I'd like to thank you for helping me diagnose and fix my leaky faucet (just needed cartridge replacement) without having to call in a plumber $ !!
Hi

Yeah, by that logic we could invigorate inner cities by randomly burning down apartment buildings. Think of all the construction jobs!
Stan! Thank You for making these Part 1 & 2 Videos. I finally own my first home and am rather clueless on fixing plumbing even when the fix isn't too complex, like this one. Thanks for the education and savings. Based on the likes, you've helped thousands of people - Much Appreciated!
Thank you for the compliment and thanks for watching! I'm glad these were helpful.

REALLY good, clear video! I’m going to fix my drip tomorrow.
Thank you! Very helpful! I was able to easily and quickly fix the faucet. All I had to do was replace the rubber o-ring.
Saw the videos Part 1 & 2 and found both very helpful - thank you.
Something to share on my experience, I found pulling the cartridge from

issue and think something is wrong.
Fixed my kitchen sink that’s to your part 1 and 2 videos! Thank you very much for taking the time to make them!
Thanks for the video. Short and succinct! As an added bonus I would have taken the opportunity to clean the faucet area. :) Well done!
Absolutely! It's always harder to clean things once everything is back in place. Thank you!
Excellent directions on how to fix a drip in faucets . I may try this . Thank you
Great tutorial! My cartridge was slightly different. My cartridge came set for hot but I needed it for the cold side. I just had to reset the cartridge for the cold side...

Oh boy! Wish me luck! I’m a 75 yr old woman, who isn’t quite sure if I can even reach the turn off! This should be fun! 😂🙏🏻
I didn't feel like replacing the stem, so I realized I just need a tighter fit around it. So, I just wrapped a rubber band around the stem and screwed it all back together. No more dripping. (I only need a temporary fix.)

did you check washer/spring under the stem?
