The clarity of the VFX is out of this world, hyper realistic actually. Other studios need to learn how the human brain works and discerns imagery for dramatic effect.

It's why I went onto the VIP community. Can't rely on studios. This custom stuff does it right and supporting it is a no brainer
Because 4k content is not even 1% of the market. 1080p is still the only resolution people use. Even with US market share of 44% of content users owning a 4k-capable display, everyone still only display 1080p content. This is becasue of the size of displays haven't changed much in the past 5 years. Hardly anyone is buying a large format display where 4k content is closer to being needed. With AI Upscaling tech from nvidia, sony, samsung, LG, etc., native 4k content is not even worth the price even so.
The only people buying 4k HDR content are enthusiasts.

@@evolicious Yes, but 1080p on RUclips looks more like bad 720p. So to get actual good quality, you need a 4K upload - even if your screen doesn‘t support it.

What I don’t understand about the trailers not being in HDR or 4K, is that Disney+ has so much care put into the visuals and audio. It’s one of the better streaming apps imo. And this trailer is in shitty 1080p. This remastering looks so much better. Especially in hdr. The color pops so much more, like the world should
The Problem is , if i for example want to watch Obi Wan on a TV Capable of having the Disney+ App i can fire it on and it looks like it should (also works on smartphones) and the Reason why its Shitty for example on PC is that they say : Okay lets look on which Platforms do our consumers watch their shows and they recognize that it mainly is TVs or Phones/Tablets thats why theytell you that you get up to UHD but it actually is 720p or not even that , it also is a bandwidth kind of problem

Agreed. Alot of TVs have HDR specs but fail actual real-world tests. It's important to buy a TV that has been proven to display true HDR. Unfortunately alot of people think HDR is a scam because they buy a cheap panel and feel disappointed by the experience.

Hello, there are some people who believes it's over saturated. This is graded with a Sony OLED reference display which is calibrated for PQ HDR Dolby Vision grading. The people with "over-saturated" issues may be experiencing tone-mapping issues instead. The grading from this video is 4000 nits PQ with a wide bt. 2020 colorspace for Dolby Vision target. It means the TV has to understand the high peak signal and tonemap it into the panel specs. Some TVs do this better than others, being the Sony latest OLED's the best in this field. We are going to upload a 2000 nit and also a 1000 nit version of the trailer to RUclips and also our trailers site. @@DragonsFan. Hello there, that's not entirely correct. Latest OLED TV's like the Sony A80/90J and Panasonic JZ1500/2000 are used as mastering displays for HDR content in serveral studios today. These covers more bt. 2020 gamut than most LCD screens and when properly calibrated in the blacks and shadow zones can also be used for perfect black HDR mastering. You see the real infinite contrast plus the real wide color gamut for HDR. Of course, we do use other reference LED panels that are placed in the same room. Though the OLED panel is the one that represent the best all of our HDR Masters. Also keep in mind this IMAX trailer source isn't the best since it was encoded into AVC from a DCP and the color is also not accurate in the source among the dark zones are crushed and broken as well. In top of that, this video is mastered as 4000 nits where some of the whites could be clipped in screens where the tonemapping is not accurate enough, again Sony OLED's today do the best tonemapping of the market in 4000+ content.
Hello, you can calibrate any OLED blacks for mastering purposes just like the mentioned Sony and Panasonic. The OLED you are talking about are the LG's, which can also be calibrated to avoid the black crush. Both Sony and Panasonic OLEDs are the best today for HDR Mastering, both comes calibrated for mastering in the professional presets and you can also use Calman and again, are used in studio production in HDR.

@Levian there are some OLEDs that calibrated are a lot better than what you are experiencing. It depends on the OLED brand, model and calibration.

You should send this to the studio who produced the movie, tell them you should have access to the final cut of the movie to completely regrade it to these standards. Honestly and optimistically, it's worth a shot.. The original trailer looked incredible, but this is something else entirely.
I bet when Disney releases it on Disney+ it will look phenomenal. Their original content that’s been mastered for Dolby sound and hdr looks great. They just put zero effort into their trailers

I noticed that the Na'vi who lives by the water has slightly different skin tone.. they're slightly greenish compared to the main characters (Jake, Neytiri and their kids). Its probably the 'tanned' color as they live by the beach. James Cameron is a genius.
