I love Carol Burnett from Miss Hannibal and so it’s such a treat to see who she enjoyed having on her show like Julie Andrews also.I was born in 1974 so it was an interesting reality to see what was happening that year.Maggie Smith was truly great.Rest in piece.❤❤
OH THERE SHE IS!! - I also love it when they force her to have a drink! this is awesome to see Maggie in her youth because I was born ( in the sanfanado vally... JK! ) during the Harry Potter time so I never got to really grow up when she was really in all of the big movies. I just love being able to see these clips!
You should have seen her in a play. I saw her in 1979 on Broadway in "Night and Day" and it was as if there were no other actors on the stage, only she...when she was on it was impossible to even notice anyone else. I never forgot the impression she made, she simply at up the entire stage.
It's funny that nowadays we would think of Carol's body type as too severe, when in fact it was normal in the '70s. Maybe, life back then was better in terms of people's attitudes on certain things.
No no no....that's not ALWAYS how she sounds. No. Way. I've seen just about EVERYTHING in the history of Maggie and I feel certain she doesn't ALWAYS sound THAT scratchy/hoarse. Oh well, it's really not important...I just got spun out 'cos it scurrs me to think how old she is now and....one day...the world will just have to make due without that beautiful voice.... ;'(
@@moonsandstars3018 At least she must have been a smoker at that time, which accounts for that extra raspiness. She doesn't sound this scratchy thirty years later on Downton Abbey, so she must have quit at some point.
i love the way they handle the door-situation every time! :)

At first I thought she said, "Carol, I live alone with my poodle and a pirate." I know better now.
