Making a list of plant chores is a very simple but very good idea. I tend to do things I randomly notice in the moment rather than the most urgent or necessary things! 😅
yeah I end up doing the same and then the things that really really need doing kind of get put on the back burner 😅
YES! I swear by checklists!
Last summer I kept my croton petra in the balcony and it was really good for her! I've had tons of planty stuff to do, because I grow a balcony garden and you need to do quite a lot if you're starting everything from seed. Luckily the weather has warmed quite quickly and I already have salads and herbs outside. I am eagerly waiting for the weather to warm up even more so that I can clear out some space inside and move flowers and vegetables outside. Right now it's crazy crowded in my living room and it's quite a tetris game to water seedlings and move some of them outside daily to acclimate to being outside. At the same time I have bought houseplants and if someone would visit my apartment it would be impossible not to mention anything of the jungle vibes and questioning my sanity type of seedling factory...
As far as fertilizing, I just picked up a tip from a head horticulturist of a house plant botanical garden's and he suggested what he termed "weak week" our something like that. It is to feed a weakened 1/4 strength solution of your preferred feed at ever watering instead of monthly. By doing this gives your plants a steady food source. Their plants where all spectacular and lush! I will be implementing this into my watering going forward.
oooh that sounds like a great rule of thumb! And makes sense instead of giving them all at once!
@@GoodGrowing Aye, I was thanking the same. It'd be like for us eating a month's worth of food in one setting. LOL
Hi Emma, wonderful tips, thanks so much! I make Mosquito Bits tea and water my plants with it at every watering to keep down the Fungs Gnat population, and it seems to work well, and I can mix my fertilizer with it!
yeah I was doing that for a while but then I wanted to try nematodes as something more natural 🤷♀️ enjoying experimenting!
Love the vid. Thanks for sharing Emma!
Thanks for the tips. Great advice as always!
I love how much enthusiasm you have in all your videos! It makes them so fun to watch. When going across my bed I always sing to myself 'Mountain goatin' across the bediverse' in the Star Treking song tone.
hahah I love that!
G'day Emma...so happy for you guys heading into spring over there...ENJOY all that planty growth and warmness👏🏼 It's such a great feeling when you do all the prep work for spring time and then just 'sit back' and watch them plant babies grow. I love it and already can't wait for our spring season...which is only 5 months away 😜😉
hehe yeah. I will be enjoying it!
I appreciate all your instruction and I love watching you and your plant buddy, I can’t remember her name right now. I learn a lot from both of you. And I really enjoy your background music. ☺️😊🪴🥳
Always glad to help! And thanks 🥰
I will also be taking pictures of all of my plants so that I can compare after the growing season!
oooh that's a great shout!
Planta app is useful to keep tracks of plants and prompts a picture to be taken each month so can scroll back and see how they progress.
@@pjuk yes I've been meaning to add everyone to planta!
I’m always wondering how often should I fertilize my plants lol
And YES SPRING IS HERE 🙌🙌🙌
I’ve been on a twice(ish) a month schedule of fertilizing them 🙏🍃🌿
yeah twice(ish) a month is fine for most houseplants. I usually suggest every other or ever 2 waters
Great tips. I’ve been repotting and moving things around, giving my cacti little drinks of water. SO GLAD spring is here 🎉😊
It's the best feeling!!
I only started collecting last summer, this is my first spring with them wish me luck. What was even more scary was the first winter with a collection of plants in london😂. Let's hope I don't neglect any plants while I try to pass my gcses as well
ooh so exciting!
I’ve recently started watching your videos, I really enjoy them. I was wondering why you live in the UK and where were you raised here in the states. I live in central south Texas where it’s very easy to grow plants indoors and outside..all my outside plants are coming out now and my indoor plants grow year round.
Keep up the good work.!!!❤
Hey! I'm really glad you're enjoying my videos! I've actually got a whole repot & chat about how I ended up in the UK! Defo worth a watch if you're curious!
Thanks for sharing 🪴
I appreciate the watering angle for the bedroom wall plants😊😅...
eew
Hahaha can't appreciate a good bum... what kind of world is this....
I'm a straight woman. With 3 children I was just complimenting her without being a creap about it jeeeze..
@@flutter_bye4619it seemed very old man creepy 👎👎
I do continue to fertilize my plants in winter..who say they stop eating in a season..lol
that's totally fine. As long as they're continuing to grow it's not really an issue. It's more of a problem if they've gone dormant and then it's like feeding someone who's asleep
love the video! thanks for the tips :) i’m wondering, if i shower my leaves off every time i water, should i still be dusting? thanks emma :) ❤
nah you should be fine as the water would do that job for you!
❤️❤️👌🏻🪴🪴🌱
Hi Emma!!! Love your content, .... One question, does nematode water work with semihydro? My house its starting to look like a fungus gnats hotel 🥲. Thank you!!!
I don't think fungus gnats live in semi hydro, at least they don't in my collection
Just interested but do you not get rid of old solution before adding new solution? And are you using nematodes in your pon?
what do you mean by solution? fertiliser water? and no I only used the nematodes in the soil plants
hi....do you do this type of watering everyday !!!.............seen gardeners using this in florida to kill bugs !!!
I do different rooms on different days so it tends to be like an every other day sort of thing
When are you and Claire's new colab starting?
soon soon!
I think you’re funny :)
hahaha appreciated 🙃
I put a layer of leca on top of the soil of my plants to keep the fungus gnats away, and now it's mostly gnats in my moss poles which I frequently water with nematodes 🙌 But I understand that with a collection like your it may be expensive to buy that much leca 🥲🌸
