    Unfortunately on your Monstera Standlyana you have to get down inside each leaf sheath. It's a tight safety net for thrips. Which is why each new leaf looks damaged before emerging. Its CRAZY frustrating😤

      I've found they go deep inside where the base of the petioles meet the stem, too. Perfect for hiding in 😬😬😬 They really are masters of hiding, particularly the adults 👿👿👿

    Try scooping out the moldy soil... also sprinkle cinnamon on the top of the soil... that may help from the mold spores spreading further...

    Looks like its not too bad! I also have rainbow stickers everywhere but they only work when the sun actually shines 😂currently under blizzard conditions here in Toronto 😨 I went to my home depot for a look and of course it was a pitiful houseplant section BUT I found a varigated Christmas cactus for $2.49🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

    Can you please do a video on how to treat propagations strictly in water for thrips?

    If you spray the terrarium with diluted isopropyl alcohol and baking soda in water it should kill the mold back enough be non visible similar to powdery mildew treatments its what i use to spot treat my terrariums the mold is gonna be in there forever but it wont hurt the plants if it isnt taking over completely
    Edit: im unsure how the monstera standi leaves unfurl but it looks like they might come out like a silver streak pothos i had mine on a pole and thought it had horrible thrips but its leaves were scraping the moss pole on the way out causeing the lines that look like thrips damage until i put thin felt between the pole and the plant

    Cleo is such a cutie pie, how could you ever be mad at that sweet baby! Have you tried adding silica for your variegated plants' fertilizer, to keep the variegation from browning off? I'm pest treating atm too, argh. I love your videos, they are so helpful and great to watch. 💚🌿

    Your plants look well for being on their own for three weeks. You mentioned a pole... do you mean a moss pole? Plantsbymelissa is great with moss poles, and I believe she has a Florida Ghost on a moss pole, but I could be wrong. However, she does normally answer a lot of the questions in her comments, and she has a lot of moss pole videos too. I hope this helps you 😊

    Nice to see your burle marx trailing. I’ve been contemplating how to grow mine and I have no desire to make the leaves bigger so if they don’t size down with trailing I think that’s what I’ll do. 👍🏻

      I've previously had this one on a pole and tbh I didn't like it like that much. I'd rather grow it as a bushy one. So I'll likely chop and prop soon to go back into the bottom

    About the sansa. I've got 22 types. Rooting in soil is risky but not impossible. From that leaf you'll get another type of sansa. This is how it goes.
    Chloe is a star! My cat boy also knocked down 5 of my plants already but nobody's hurt. Not on the purpose, he was just too excited and playful. All other time he is a true gentleman to all the geen ones.

    6:58 take everything out. Discard or rinse. Future terrarium needs more air flow so don’t close off the jar.

    You know I have that same type of watering pot with a reservoir and it got mold on the top of the semi-hydro pon that I had in it. I thought it was because I had my humidifier on and the air was to wet

We have a plant room, and he is not allowed there. But when I forget to close the door, he gets there all the time.

    Omg cats and knocking plants.... Thursday morning I heard a massive crash and ran into the bathroom to see my jade plant that I've grown from a 2 leaf baby to a big 1ft tall plus behemoth over the last 6 years had been knocked off the windowsill and half of its branches had snapped off 😭 I angry cried for about 20 minutes and was late for work...

    I have had moild on top of pon before, if it´s a lot I remove the top layer, if it´s just a little or I can´t be bothered, then I just spray some 3% hydrogen peroxide on top. Both methods seem to work for me.
    I was away for 3 weeks over the holidays as well, most of my plant´s where just fine (hurray for semi hydro). My office plant´s on the other hand got forgotten and not watered the whole time and I think my crotons are dead :(

    • @GoodGrowing
      @GoodGrowing  7 месяцев назад

      ooh might just spray it with hydrogen peroxide then. thanks!

  • @torquess454
    @torquess454 8 месяцев назад

    What about a spray of hydrogen peroxide for the moldy terrarium, ours in Canada is 3% in a spray bottle, I use it for that kind of thing and root rot etc maybe a spritz after a scoop may help?
    Is your queen of the night related to my orchid cactus? They look very similar though mine has waves along the sides of the leaves, mine is exploding!! I didn’t know how they grew, it comes out with 2 foot (or more) long spikes that expand into these 1-2 inch flat leaves finish getting heavy enough to hang. I’ve got 7 long spikes waiting to expand right now!
    Random note, I think it’s hilarious that people apologize for the sun being in the shot, miss sun needs no one to apologize for her!! Lolol
    I hear sansevaria take forever to grow roots
    My big fish bone cactus was overwatered while I was on vacay and it’s all wrinkly 😢I hope it recovers!!! So was my med sized Adenium Obesum (desert rose) and it rotted to death, so sad it wasn’t cheap.
    We live in a valley south western Canada and have no sun in the winter, it’s been mild above zero every day until lastnight/this morning it dropped to -24 Celsius and we have sun now 🤷‍♀️
