This route is similar to the Pinocchio franchise. The first movie, The Adventures of Pinocchio was a 1996 film that starred Jonathan Taylor Thomas as the titular character and Martin Landau as a supporting role. Udo Kier plays as a villainous character in it but it didn’t do well at the box office leading to a direct-to-video sequel 3 years later named The New Adventures of Pinocchio. This time, Jonathan was nowhere to be spotted and really couldn’t participate in the production because he was a teenager who couldn’t play a young child at the time which led to Gabriel Thomson as the lead role. Martin and Udo came back for this but some of the people that played their characters from the first movie are replaced by new people. Ex: The original actor who played as Lampwick originally didn’t partake in this but instead was replaced by a new person. The first movie took place in Italy while the second one took place in Luxembourg which may explain some of the British accents some people had in the second film.
I think this every year! It would be a really fun concept for a movie, all of the mall santas and every culture’s version of the big guy all getting together for some kind of common goal.

It kind of sounds like the sequel to Enchanted. Koal's entire sequence sounds right outta the first with the oddness, the rest unfortunately sound really dour and rough on the Buddy character. Also nothing about his father or brother? Odd script but id be lying if not curious
The Koal stuff could have been the focus. Like imagine if Buddy writing the story about Koal leads to increased belief in him and allows him to be unleashed upon the world causing mischief
Wow, I had absolutely no idea what a sequel would've been like. But I'll say that script doesn't sound too great. Elf is better off on its own. After all, not everything needs a sequel.

Tbh I hate to disagree with the other people in the comments, but this movie sounded really bad. It has a few good moments and ideas but overall feels like a cheap cheesy hallmark movie, missing every ounce of comedy and magic from the first one. Not to mention feels like a basic family movie with Christmas and Elf stuff as the D Plot of the movie.
Hold up. South pole elves are 6'3? So does this retcon buddies line about myles finch being a "south pole elf" in elf, or is this newly learned info by erybody involved?
There’s a line where Santa talks about how he lied that the South Pole elves were short when Buddy was little because he didn’t want Buddy believing he was a South Pole elf
As much as I think that Elf doesn't even need a sequel, there are some legitimately good ideas here, but overall there's just... too much going on. It hardly even feels like a real story and is trying to do way too much at once. Having multiple Santas is a neat concept and something I haven't seen many Christmas movies do, but then they also throw in a "father can't connect with his daughter because he embarrasses her too much" plot that feels really generic I'm sorry.

I love elf. It never gets old. This actually sounds pretty funny
NGL, the script indeed sounds like those dvd sequels people just forgot like the Dr. Dollitle ones
You just unlocked some deep memory with the Dr. Doolittle mention
i’m honestly glad this didn’t happen since it kinda of a mix bag elf doesn’t need a sequel
I feel like this could work fine as an original film unrelated to the original Elf.
Walter can’t be in it cause he passed away Rip James Caan😢😢
Good video. 👍
Thank you for the kind words, Gos! Glad you enjoyed!
The Elf story is a complete story, no need for a sequel, but I kinda liked the premise of the potential sequel script - just needed more Walter and Jodie, I agree with your points on its flaws
Too bad Will and Jon didn’t get along :(
This would’ve been so fire with Will Ferrel. I’m definitely glad it wasn’t made with someone else instead. But we missed out on a strange niche Christmas classic.
Can you please talk about the canceled Lego Batman Movie sequel please
If I ever had a chance to read the script, I’d love to do Lego Batman 2!
this unmade Elf movie can be reworked into a sequel to Violent Night the Santa movie starring David Harbour
I really dig that idea. Violent Night sequel with a Summit of Santas?
Ferrell called it, he was in an awful sequel years later; Anchorman 2.
Honestly this sounds like one of those "so bad it's good" movies. I would have watched it
I would love to see Elf 2 happen
If anything, Elf is good on its own with out a sequel.
Heck, Elf is a fun movie for the holidays!
I’m sure they’ll make “elf 2” one day with or without the original cast. They already made a sequel to a Christmas story.
Honestly so glad this wasn’t made, it would’ve been pretty bad. Why do so many sequels have to be this way, it completely loses the charm to the first movie. Elf is a perfect movie by itself, it doesn’t need a sequel EVER!
I think home alone 2 was the only welcome Christmas sequel
You are amazing!
You 🫵 are amazing!
Koal's entire sequence sounds right outta the first with the oddness, the rest unfortunately sound really dour and rough on the Buddy character.
Also nothing about his father or brother?
Odd script but id be lying if not curious
It’s wild how well the Koal stuff fits with the first movie, and how mismatched most of the rest of it is
The Koal stuff could have been the focus. Like imagine if Buddy writing the story about Koal leads to increased belief in him and allows him to be unleashed upon the world causing mischief
I honestly remember seeing posters for this movie in 2004.
I didn’t even know that there was a sequel that was planned
Wow, I had absolutely no idea what a sequel would've been like. But I'll say that script doesn't sound too great. Elf is better off on its own. After all, not everything needs a sequel.
OMG OMG OMG! I have seen this and watch this video on RUclips and it was awesome! I love Elf, the plot idea for Elf 2, Will Ferrell and Buddy the Elf! I also love how this video turned out and so did Koal Kringle! A sequel would be nice! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thank you for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed!
Thank god they didn’t put this out and thank god that will didn’t just make the movie for a 30mil pay check.
I like the fan theory that the Lego movie is a secret Elf 2
So glad ive heard someone else make the comment on the simularity between polar express and elf soundtrack
The main theme for both are *so* similar.
Should have done squeal around the Halloween time it would be funny to see how Buddy interacted with Halloween stuff.
I don’t think I would’ve hated the movie, but I’m definitely glad it wasn’t a thing.
Does anyone else remember that really terrible stop-motion Elf reboot we got in 2014 that was based on the stage musical, or am I high?
Just watched it. It should be removed from existence, as it's one of the worst things I've ever watched.
@@ThatLady17 IKR? It’s really unfunny and skips over the best messages/jokes/scenes from the original film. It also has Sia in it 🤢
I read somewhere that Will Ferrell isn't the easiest to work with. Never met the guy, but that wouldn't really surprise me if it's true.
I do like the summit of Santa’s idea.
Elf is better off staying a stand alone movie anyway.
I wholeheartedly agree!
I would have loved this movie, especially after I heard it would take place in my home state
Not gonna lie, this script is actually quite solid…
Elf 2: Cousin Eddy goes to the North Pole
Can u do the history of the canceled ironman movie pls❤
There are so many canceled Iron Man movies to choose from! Is there any particular version of the script you'd like to see?
@@HemmasStudios_ yeah i heared there was a cancelled ironman movie from the early 2000s can u cheak that out?
Thank GOD they didn't make this! ELF is my favorite movie, and if they made this it would ruin both of them
Elf is best as a stand-alone film. Glad the sequel got canned
