  • When it comes to talking about our strengths, we can sometimes hit a brick wall. Typically, we aren’t great about talking about ourselves, particularly in a positive way. However, you can expect a question like, “what are your strengths?” or “what is your greatest strength?” to show up in at least one, if not many of your interviews during the job search process.
    In this video I share with you how to answer this question AND how to figure out what your strengths are if you aren’t quite sure where to begin when it comes to answering this question. I’ve also got a few resources for you!

    I haven't had an interview for a very long time. I also haven't ever thought deeply about the questions being asked at an interview. I really appreciate the time you have given to these videos and I look forward to recommending them to my daughter who is in college and preparing to begin interviewing for her career field. Thank you !!!

    I have to thank you for saying something that I have never heard before. All the others mention "successful outcome" and just stop there. Great - hundreds of people stood there cheering and clapping!
    By contrast, you actually bothered to say "or gained meaningful insight." Just sometimes, I believe that at least one of the presenters really does care.

    Thanks so much for the information your sharing here it's educative.I am a nurse and I want to know , how do I answer this question ❓ tell me about your carier pathway

    • @LifeWorkBalance
      @LifeWorkBalance  2 года назад +4

      Great question! When an interviewer asks about your career pathway, they're essentially asking you where you see yourself going (and maybe even a little about where you've been).
      How and why did you choose to get into this field? What have you done to move from one level of expertise to another? Where do you see yourself going in 3, 5, or 10 years?

    I thought in another video you said that we shouldn't look at personality traits

    • @em-jonesx07
      @em-jonesx07 Год назад +4

      I think that's just for weaknesses, as personality traits aren't easily changed - therefore a negative trait is a negative responsibility for the managers to deal with

      How about this for an example? (Thanks to ChatGPT!)
      Question: What is one of your greatest strengths?
      Answer:
      Context: One of my greatest strengths is my ability to stay organized and manage multiple priorities effectively. For example, in my previous role as a project coordinator, I was tasked with overseeing a major project launch while simultaneously managing ongoing smaller projects. The timeline was tight, and there were many stakeholders involved with competing deadlines.
      Action: To ensure everything stayed on track, I created a detailed project plan using a task management tool, prioritizing critical deadlines and setting clear milestones for each project. I scheduled weekly check-ins with the team to address any bottlenecks and proactively communicated with stakeholders about progress and changes.
      Result: As a result, the major project was launched on time and under budget, and the smaller projects also met their deadlines without any delays. My organizational skills were recognized by my manager, and I was later asked to train a new team member on project management best practices.
