This is the Coventry spirit, we were always the underdogs when we were in the premiership and always scraping for survival every season. There was a joke that if the Titanic was painting sky blue it would never have went down and we all noticed as fans that Maidstone too have that spirit 😊

A lot of us used to call it soccer too. Then US football came to England and they referred to it as soccer, so then we all started to insist on football. I still call it soccer.

At the same time strength and explosiveness would usually go to the nfl players. It’s a completely different set of skills, body types and mentalities. 90% of nfl players are just not build to keep up with the pace of a soccer game, and 90% of soccer players are not strong or explosive enough to make an impact in an nfl game. And if we look at literal numbers and percentages of “real men” by far the advantage goes to soccer. It is the most popular sport worldwide by a large margin.

Not as violent as American football, rugby, ice hockey and certainly not boxing, but soccer, especially at the top of the game, is not for weenies. Child-like taunting about a "girly" game doesn't alter that fact.

Literally the best game of football I have ever been to as a Cov fan. I lost my mind at 2-2 and literally had no idea what was happening when Haji slotted home for 2-3. An amazing day.
