I Beat Valheim Without Repairing or Upgrading

- Once I craft an item and I lose it (or it degrades) then I can't make that item anymore. Weapons, Armor and yes even the crafting Hammer. If it degrades it's gone forever. If I die whatever is on me is also gone forever.

Video took me around 30 hours to edit together. I'm not the best when it comes to editing so if you have any criticisms please let me know because I want to improve.
You should divide then into many small videos, like more parts, rather than a big video. Better in content management and videos will run like a story line :))

Also yes, my next video will definitely have the Mistlands in it. I'm hoping it's still do able though because I haven't played since the new update dropped, so I have no idea how difficult the new biome is 😅

Playing the game and did not have a single death with a challenge on top of it all was amazing. One thought was strange was you never crafted duplicates of any item. Technically you aren't repairing or upgrading a tool just using an abudance of resources to keep going, but this is even more harder. Good job and hopefully you can pull this challenge off with this new queen boss... possibly. 😂
yeah the way he worded it, I was expecting a resource heavy run of constantly recrafting shit. But only 1 of each item per run? Yikes.
I thought he would make new items too, but i guess making a new hammer is like repairing it with extra steps
hammer is basically dead in this one so mistlands might be impossible

he said it himself that if the hammer is lost, the challenge is gone, meaning he doesNT make another hammer, its game over, he said this multiple times in the video
and this still challenged him, ya know.....the whole point of a challenge, of what a challenge is
if a challenge pushes you and makes you think of a different approach to handle it, its a challenge, which this is just what it did for him

I've been watching this video by chapters & finally got to experience it's glorious conclusion. Because i am yet to face Moder & the growths, i decided to hear the ending instead of watching it & i can 100% attest that if felt like listening to a fellow warrior, although i've always envisioned this as something that'd be taking place in a sort of pub/bar. Other high fantasy settings seem to have done a number on me. 😅
& that ending... that ending was just pure bliss!

I saw this first time a year ago but i still watch this again some time cuz its still one of my favourite videos on all of youtube.
what an accomplishment to complete such an absurd run. That crypt rng was insane, but even with that stroke of good luck, this challenge was an achievement that would be hard for anyone to reproduce. Props on the content and very wp.

When I first got this game I didn't know there was repair at all and kept throwing my broken armour off into the oceans
My friends and I did a co op challenge called "One-for-all". It wasn't too difficulty, but it was very tricky. Basically, we were allowed to have only one of each item (armor, weapons, tools), as well as only 1 person could eat a certain food. And the more people you got playing, the harder it gets. We had people running 1-2 armor pieces early on, so no one would be left armorless. You can limit this challenge as much as you want, fitting it to your needs. But it's strictly a co op challenge.

I didn't watch the last part to avoid spoilers because I am still preparing to fight the Plains boss.
Some thoughts:
1) I think you could get the guk for the Draugr Fang faster from killing the Abomination several times. To kill it you just need to lure it into a Surtling fire spawn place and block. Fire damage kills it almost instantly.
2) Spear is definitely not garbage against wolves once you learn to throw it. A good throw of spear into incoming wolf either one shots or staggers him.

The RuneScape music really does make this video that much better. Awesome video idea overall! I would love to see you do something similar with the new mistlands update doing this challenge or the one you did previously. Maybe even like an all bosses but in reverse?
I'm a bit late even though youtube has been BEGGING me to watch this. I thought it wouldn't be interesting cause the title leads me to assume that you could just make new weapons and armor every time, using up much more resources but not very interesting past that.
I haven't watched the whole thing yet but listening to the rules almost made me mad at how incredibly unfair they were lmao, I'm only a bit in but i already know the rest of the video is gonna be a banger, thank you for making it!

This is a nice challenge! Seems tough which would make the game even more fun! Unique enough too, I haven't seen anyone do a no repair run, especially with all of these exyra challenges added on. Also, I love the runescape music in valheim and vice versa. Speaking of runescape! For the past 6 months or so I've been recreating old school runescape POI's and towns inside of valeheim! I've gotten a fair bit done so far and have a few, terribly bad quality, videos on my channel that shows some of the builds so far, including my latest video showing off Al-Kharid and the duel arena. It'd be awesome if you gave one a look and maybe even give some feedback if you have any. Either way, thanks dude!

Nice run but doesn't repairing the boat at 23:31 count as repairing? One way to bypass this would be to destroy it and then rebuild it. I guess this way saves time and perhaps a very small amount of durability of the weapon you choose to destroy it with.

I played this game for about 5 hours unknowingly doing this challenge, I had no idea you could repair stuff at the table!
I really need to play this game more often now that my pc is upgraded.
Now is the perfect time with the new Mistland biome that just came out today!
Whenever I entered a planes biome, I'd take out my draugr fang and the lowest arrows and just snipe every mossie I could see. Same goes for wolves and usually drakes. All of them were onehit-disalives afair.

This is very impressive. Hat's off to you for this accomplishment. Yagluth's nova attack isn't a melee attack, it doesn't do any physical damage. You probably just mean it is short range aoe elemental damage.

You cant become a "smithy" and repair and upgrade your things, but you can still be a "blacksmith" and craft your things
oh interesting so like I can't use ores to make stuff but items that dont require you to smelt ores are allowed? Or did I misread what you said?
@@HauntedOath No no just suggesting a name for the challenge, i was using the general descriptions of a Smithy and a Blacksmith to make it make sense.

The OSRS music at the begining made me happy
I definitely disagree that death in Valheim is completely meaningless. Even on normal difficulty, your tombstone is still left in the area where you already died once. You are likely to die again considering you will likely have worse armor while trying to retrieve your gear. Most importantly though is the skills. With how long it takes to raise them later, death can be very unforgiving.

Yeah you know I remember thinking that it didnt really matter if I built a new boat or repaired it because it would still take up 1 hammer use so I just repaired it like 3 or 4 times during this challenge

I would love watching a sneak only challenge hahaha where you basically stealth your way through the game. Not even sure if that’s possible against bosses 😅 but everything else haha
My friend's and mine bonemass spawn is literally the worst place imaginable - a medium swamp with close access to water where leeches sucker punch you all the time, draugr spawners that love spawning fucking archers, abomination patrolling the freaking area and a horde of skeletons chasing you to the ends of the earth.
I have not really thought this through, but here my first Idea:
The Enviromental Activist Challenge:
- You have to kill as few Animals as possible (only those, that are nessesay for Progression)
- Dont chop down trees
- if you tame animals, make shure they have enough space
- try to be as recouseful as possible, build 2 Chests as Trash cans at/near the start, outdated equipment goes there, use no more than those trash chests for old equipment (throwing out natural recources is fine)
- everything that lies on the ground is fair game
Maybe one could restrict this more with stuff like "don't invade the home of trolls, these are living and somewhat intelligent beings" or "Go vegetarian" or "sit down in Protest whenever someone (trolls) chops down a tree". Or Stuff about the Fulings, because they are intelligent too, or "The rarest enemy type in a Biome is endangered, so don't kill members of this species, unless it is nessecary"
I like it! I can already imagine a nice storyline for something like this!

You could make it even harder by putting limits on your shield usage
